@StrawHatRican:
^^; I'm here for you Nobodyman!
Incidentally it JUST came to my attention that they are remaking it as an actual Hollywood movie (and not a miniseries) and it's slated for 2011…
My heart literally just stopped at the thought of Tim Curry reprising the role o.O
Wait. What? Aw Hell naw! If Tim Curry isn't Pennywise, then the movie is effing doomed.
@StrawHatRican:
This is one of those FEW cases were I don't want 3-D not cuz of the cheesiness it might provide but rather I don't want to have a heart attack.
Pennywise is a scary fucking clown.
That would be insanely awesome if they could do it right though…..which they can't >.<
Ppl used to think Freddy Krueger couldn't be played by anyone else… and I'm not entirely convinced of that statement yet.

Now you know I'm all about NoES, but Freddy is so different from Pennywise.
(*Just for the record: Stephen King is my idol. Poe, Lovecraft, and King are the triumvirate of the horror genre, and King simply happens to be my favorite out of all three…)
Pennywise is one of those roles that seem to have been made for no one other than Curry, after all he made the movie what it is. If any other actor had been cast, I'm 99% sure I would have hated it like I do pretty much every other King adaptation. (Misery, The Mist, and It are the only ones I really like).
Freddy, on the other hand, could be played by anyone. I would have gotten the same feel from the original NoES with another actor as Freddy as I did with Englund. It's one of those roles that is easily switched, mainly because the character doesn't develop througout the course of the series.
With Pennywise though, he was created as an intricate monster. He has a backstory. He has development through time. This is apparent in the movie, even if it's much less than it is in the book.
Freddy is one-dimensional. He's around to kill teenagers who have sex, get drunk, and party; simple as that.
So anyway, my point is this: NOBODY CAN FILL A ROLE ONCE TIM CURRY HAS DONE SO!!! HE IS TOO FREAKIN AWESOME!!!
Yes the caps were necessary...... [/hide]
EDIT:
@StrawHatRican:
The movie/book makes WAY more sense after reading the Dark Tower series…
In fact, all Stephen King books/movies make WAY more sense AFTER reading the Dark Tower series.
I love how he connects his novels in some way! It's brilliant!
Please tell me that you've read Under the Dome.
Oh, and I'm actually just getting around to the Dark Tower series. I've been putting it off for a while….
