I'm late to the party, but you guys seriously made me laugh out loud. I still continue to like Bleach despite the shit, but even the "fans" know how bad the storytelling is at this point.

Indeed. I still continue to read Bleach, but only out of habit cause I hate leaving a story and not knowig the ending. I hope it starts picking up again soon. Also, I NEED MORE GREY! NO MORE OF THIS BLACK AND WHITE SHIT!

Kubo really does have good art IMO. I mean, he draws well, almost as well as Kubo in some instances. The problem is, he sucks at making proper distribution of those drawings. In the one chapter these guys mockingly reviewed, they made it clear just how stupid it is sometimes, with so much space being used up just to waste time. Not to mention the lack of backgrounds and the random black and white.
Story wise, I think the basic plot and concept is good and it started off really well, but then Kubo just sucks at storytelling so we've gotten to the point we are now. I still think it's better than Naruto though, and I do follow that as well.

Of course I say that assuming that the anime hasn't got to that point. Which that is probably a concrete assumption considering how long they said the filler has been going on in this podcast episode. I really do not understand how all of my friends love Bleach so much... lol. And by that I mean the ones that are actually caught up in the anime, but haven't read the manga. They are aware that it's filler, but they still talk like it's the best thing ever. And, of course, they still (with no real ground to stand on) bash One Piece.

Because the anime, at least to me, makes the stuff in the manga better. Sometimes good music, good art/animation in color and good voice acting can improve a series. Many fights in the manga that were drawn out way too much, for example, I found were a lot better when animated, because Bleach's shitty pace makes it possible to fit about 4 chapters in one episode.
And the filler hasn't been all bad. The latest 10 were terrible, but the previous arc was pretty good. And it's Kubo's fault for making an arc last for 4 years, so I can't blame anyone.
Despite all that, I'd be the first to say that One Piece far surpasses it, so I myself don't understand why so many Bleach and Naruto fans bash it.

Better than what now? Than Naruto, yes.
I like Kubo's art style. He's good at drawing expressions and poses and realistic anatomy of the body. The issue is, he doesn't know how to take that art and utilize it efficiently. This podcast is a perfect example of that. So much wasted space, repeated panels, black and white random shapes, lack of backgrounds… etc.
That's where Oda comes in. Not only is his art great and very unique (and maybe a little wacky at times, but that's alright), but his backgrounds are beautiful and the amount of time he puts into them show that he cares about his series way more than the other mangakas do.
