Thriller Bark and Gecko Moria review.

I have just finished the Thriller Bark arc in the Animé, and thought I would just raise a few points for discussion.

-The start of the arc annoyed me, as seeing the Straw hats being beaten up really makes me irksome. And Sanji wasn't even thanked for saving Nami from a fate worse than death!

The battle in Shadows Asgard was dissapointing. It was built up so beautifully, and it's a plain epic move. Godzilla on steroids was going to fight Luffy, who combined both of his gears! And then what did he do? He bodyslammed Moria until a tower fell on him. I just feel that Luffy could have used some classier moves. And, it made Moria look very weak. He is probably my favourite Shichibukai, but possibly the weakest.
At the end, Lola gives Nami a Bibliocard of her mother, "A famous new world pirate who will help you out!"
Am I the only one who immediately thought of mysterious yonkou Big Momma? Seems like the kind of epithet someone like Lola would use. Perhaps she will help reunite Nami with the Straw Hats?
To conclude, Aw Laboon was so kyooooooot. I didn't think Brooks past would be too tragic but that little whale…. sniff... How could they abandon him?

Anyway, those are my thoughts. Discuss! Or don't.

I like that Moria is such a glass-jaw when you get past his hax devil fruit powers. Its a fun change of pace.

He just has the proportional strength of a fat-guy.

He is my favorite character in whole OP :) But I also admit that Oda made him look weak in that battle.
However,I think he is at least stronger than Jimbei and Hancock.When he was young he probably was even stronger and in the same lvl with a yonku.
Not to mention that when he was young he had the most badass looking face Ive ever seen in any anime.Don't get me wrong though I adore him the way he is now too.I loved his kishishi,his unique figure and facial expressions from the first moment I saw him ^^

Moria was just pissed at Jimbei and went for his shadow underestimating his opponent as usual.At the end he received a strong punch which caused him….Nothing!! Next scene -> Moria smiling.So what u said was plain dumb sry..:getlost:

This arc is very underated, I liked it alot, but since its kind of new most people watched it week by week and didn't marathon it. Marathoning an arc makes it 10 times better, I just finished marathonig Impel Down and it was so much better than watching it weekly

And Moria would be so much stronger if he wasn't so lazy, he gave up working out after he lost to Kaidou…but thats what makes him so funny XD

Agreed. I showed Thriller Bark to a couple of friends by marathoning episodes, and they loved it! They didn't think the pacing was slow at all and even found some of the crappy filler entertaining. The same went for Impel Down.:happy:

Luffy is just a little lucky bitch, he first got the 100 shadow power up, then he took that island breaker punch as nothing tanks to his gomu cheap immunity against physical harm, and finally he was aided by a giantic tower that was casually on the right place on the right hour…And even after that people are calling Moria weak?!

I'm Sorry Mooorrriiiaaa - sama! I meant no disrespect! You are so stronger than the ridiculously overepwered KUMA!
Also, how did Moria "Fight on par with Kaidou" ? I mean, how do you think he would fight without his powers? Can he scissor- swordfight without other peoles shadows?

A good movespeed and Doppleman-switching could have been enough to fight evenly with a Yonku.

People is stupid then, as we all saw him fight near the end of his arc, see him fight the entire war with him smiling at the end, and we know from fact that he used to fight equally with Kaidou, without Hogback or zombies…

Whoever made that picture, that is. I think its a shame that the WG are disowning Moria, but seemingly ignoring hancock. She was probably only a shichibukai so that the government could say "The hottest woman evar is on our side! Who'd want to be a pirate?"
Moria is so going to team up with luffy, make a zombie with whitebeards body and destroy marineford. Or something. T'would be epic.
