I think it's the fact that it's invitation only that get's people riled up.
When you make something more exclusive, the more people will want it.

Yeah, it sucks knowing he probably selfishly fucked over a lot of people by abusing his position and sucking life out of the community for some people.
I can only hope that knowing he's fucking gone can help get things back on track and back to just having fun in a nice environment where we actually care about each other.
With the way NPC currently is, nothing like LOST THREAD abuse can ever happen again.
It's not that things like modfucks weren't probably in good fun in the beginning when everyone was just "in on it", but everyone just grew up and it basically turned into petty "stuck in infantile stage" idiocy for people still doing it. Which was solely Dan.

probably, but I try to minimize my forum posting time when I'm busy and currently:
- OP revision project is super busywork
- not doing a good job of not wasting time on AP already
and once you open a can of worms there's not much going back. also I still feel a bit ashamed of the manner in which I left, even though it was bound to happen at some point or another as long as Dan was around.

Basically every single person on the forum was on your side when it happened, so I don't think there's much reason for you to feel embarrassed.
Also, since the minute I have given Dan the boot I have had people constantly asking me "so can we try to get snarf back now?" So there's basically no ill thought towards you.
It'd be great if you came back. I never approached you about it because I figured you were busy, and frankly, I've been embarrassed by everything Dan's done and have felt responsible for essentially enabling it.
I wanted to send you an e-mail apologizing for his behavior and wishing you luck, but again, I always felt too embarrassed and did not want to bother you.
Dan is basically someone who I regret ever being friends with. This is a statement going back over at least 10 years, if that's any indication of anything.
If you want to come back, it'd be great. But if you're too busy or don't feel like it, I won't hold it against you

We had the Savannah Film Festival at SCAD recently, and Liam Neeson was one of the guests, he was staying at this hotel where lots of festival lectures were also held. And he was walking by one of the lectures on the way to the dining hall or whatever and some scad student at the lecture noticed him and freaked the fuck out and literally "glomped" him, and Liam Neeson was just like "jesus christ" and some guy had to take the student away. The student was a guy btw.
