oh berserk how I've missed you.
Berserk
-
-
that pic of gutts at the top has a striking resemblance to batman
If only he has was going to a cave of some sort…oh wait!
-
That Sea God has one huge mouth.
Now if only there was some way for Guts to get in there and destroy it from the inside-out. -
The feeling you get when you see the Berserk thread bumped up and assume it's some other guy talking about how he/she/it like the series, but upon closer inspection, find out that a new chapter is on its way!
-
Finally! the sea god is revealed.
-
Here is the raw.

-
Oh happy days! Can't wait for the scan
-
More good news is that chapter 320 is out on the 22nd.
-
Berserk updates? This must be a dream.

I have a question, where do you read the Lost Chapter of Berserk? The one with the Idea of Evil. I know the basics of what happens in the chapter but I still want to read it in order to better understand the series. Is it on Manga Reader? If it's not tell me some other sites, it would be much appreciated.
-
I remember reading it when I was downloading the volumes from some website back in 05 but 'what website'? I have no damn clue

Nice chapter.
-
Killing a Sea God…
Should power up that sword quite a bit...! :)
-
Hell yeah! Survived another 5 month break.
Edit, and done. Well it was quite short, I think 19 pages is the shortest one in a while, but at least things are moving. I kind of hope the sea god will be dealt with in the next 4 or so chapters. Seeing Guts slash though tentacles is just not the same as seing him slash though other demons and humans. I'm having a hard time to feel either empathy or disgust towards his enemy. And that takes away from the fun.
-
Aww yeah awesome.
Don't see how jumping headfirst into it's mouth will help much though.
-
Death by Tentacle!
Guts sure has some major shaving to do.
-

I didn't get what you meant at first. The man is cleanly shaving and then I looked at every other part of his body other than his face. Talk about a uni-brow.
-
Um…I was referring to the Sea God and his tentacle beard. XD
-
Uhhh yeah that's what I meant too…
-
Slow but steady start. Sounds like the next four chapters after this might even be ready.
-
I am hoping Isma's momma would appear in the coming chapters.
-
I enjoyed this chapter. I can't wait to see the full body of the Sea God, since I have a feeling the mouth is only the start of it. I just hope we get to see this whole fight before the next break, which hopefully shouldn't be out of the question.
So yeah, good chapter. Can't wait till the 22nd!

I've heard many good things about this series.
But I was wondering how the world building in this series is. Is everything that can still happen already set in stone? Also how often does the mangaka take breaks? Waiting a week is already a pain in the ass, but I can deal with that, up above somebody stated 5 months??? Da fuck?

You'll understand once you actually see the art.
-
I enjoyed this a lot. Even more so because of the wait but when I got to that last page, dreading it with every click I just knew I'd probably go back to waiting and hating it.

It hasn't always been this way but recently the author makes use of the fact that he has a monthly manga in a bi-weekly magazine. Meaning ~5 chapters then break. Since it takes 2,5 months to put the chapters out the break should be 3 months instead of 5 though. He is definatly below 1 chapter per month and around ~21 pages a chapter right now. But hey! You're reading One Piece, right? This manga has a 90% chance to be finished before One Piece is, so cheer up.
-
It takes me an hour to read a berserk chapter.
-
The best part of the chapters is finding out that they've been fighting beard fluff all this time guts has only been given the sea god a trim lool.
-
Aww yeah awesome.

sounds like best idea to me. if i were say fighting a titan basically i would think only chance of doing any damage is INSIDE the body or else stabbing the EYES. I mean otherwise its like taking a sword and trying to cut down a football stadium.
But i hate to say meh chapter, but its just hard to get super stoked about a chapter that you get to only read like 20 pages every 3 months. Though exciting to see that next chapter comes out in like a couple weeks. hopefully we get a slew of chapters so that i can enjoy them better. Otherwise i feel like i have to not read bleach for a few years so that i can read like 20 chapters in a row or something then. which to me sounds even sadder saying outloud. waiting 3 years to read like 20-30 chatpers.
-
Oh yeah! Sweet chapter!
I'm hoping for Guts to be going berserk on that gods guts. >_>
-
I hope that pirate is finally gonna die sometime, he's starting to outlive his usefullness.
-
When he hanged his pirate comrades I snickered.
-
Well, not much happened this chapter except FINALLY seeing the fucking sea god.
And he is absolutely perfect. I love the berserk monster designs and this one is right up there with giant tree ganishka.
Can't wait to see guts cleave his way out of his abdomen.
And also lol at the fact that guts only gave his beard a shaving til now. -
I want this arc to finish soon. To curious about the Elven place. Will we get Caska back?
-

Never.
Sometimes things have consequences, and miracle cures turn out to just be false hopes.
Also, would she even WANT to remember what happened? Restoring her memories might be a really bad thing for her.
-
I don't think Caska getting cured would be cheap. It was a monstrous event sure but Guts went through hell and back to regain his saniy, gather his comrades, protect Caska and get to Elfhelm. Not to mention as you said, curing her would have its own huge drawbacks. With that said, Caska's too good a character to remain in lala land for the rest of her life. She's a tough woman, it's in her to overcome what happened and grow from it.
-
Since Casca's condition is psychological as opposed to magical, whatever is done at Elfheim to help get her back to normal certainly won't be some simple fix. I'm guessing it pretty much has to involve Casca confronting what happened and she has to willingly choose to acknowledge what happened to her.
Afterwards though? That's a whole different issue since it's all dependent on whether Guts, in her eyes, will be seen solely as a reminder of those things and would cause Casca to reject him as a result.
-
Oh, I'm sure she'll get her sanity back, she's been dead weight for so long and the cure has been teased too long and for it not to, and she may not want to be with Guts after remembering. (But of course she'll stay.)
But really she's been …deficient... for a longer time in both terms of chapters and real world time that it's not a thing to me anymore. That was one of the costs of Griffith's evil and one of the things Guts lost. Its just been a part of the way things are for over a decade and gone for so long I don't really care one way or the other at this point. If she gets restored she's practically a new character all over again, and being something other than a burden just increases her chances of being killed.
Someone in Guts' group will die before the end of the series, just to reaffirm no one is safe and there's giant horrible monsters about and they are fighting gods. Guts himself will probably die at the end, since it is his life story. Thats just how this series rolls.
-
I was thinking some what along the lines that it won't cure her completely. It will have a minor affect on her and she herself over time would overcome what happen to her like some of you mentioned. Was thinking that w/e they do to her at the Elven place she'll have split personalities for a while. Her lala land one and her old kickass Caska.

Oh that's totally how I see it going and like I said, I'm sure it's within Caska to take on the burden of pain of remembering if not for her then for Guts so he no longer has to feel guilty for her and protect her all the time and carry on the legacy of the hawks and his revenge quest against Griffith on his own. Whether they remain lovers is another question entirely.
-
Caska should overcome that trauma with her inner strength (magic as auxiliary help is acceptable), otherwise it'd be hard for me to like her as a character again.
-
It certainly is interesting, if I recall correctly Skull Knight did say to Guts "what you wish may not be what she wishes." or something like that.
-

True, plus she serves as a sort of reminder to just how messed up Femto is despite any excuses/justifications/whatever some throw out regarding what he's done.
Plus I'm kinda curious on how she'll react to things like the child and Femto since he's currently using the aforementioned's body.

So Magnifico is gonna die? :cwy:
Seriously though, I dunno if we'll see any of the main group taken out. While Berserk is a very cynical series I can't see them dying, but maybe I'm being too optimistic.

Whether they'll be able to remain together as lovers is key. The guy's been all too desperate for any kind of affection from Casca which she simply is unable to reciprocate for obvious reasons.
It's one thing that she hates Guts while in her current condition since she really doesn't know any better, but rejecting him after eventually getting better would probably be a breaking point that will cause things to worsen. At best Guts goes back to how he was after the Eclipse to when fighting Rosine, which is still really really bad, and worst…I dunno he may use that Behelit for power in order to take down Femto and the God Hand since either way revenge is all Guts has left.

Tell that to Judeu, Pippin, Corkus and Gaston!
I mean yes, that event was fair since the series started after the eclipse and Guts was alone, but I've had difficulty getting attached to any of the current cast as a result. Despite how well written and interesting they are and how long they've been in the story. The back of my mind just tells me "Muira is totally willing to kill characters if it serves the story and eventually these guys can die too. Especially near the end of the story."
Same thing sort of runs rampant in Game of Thrones as well. It ups the tension and suspense sure, and knowing something is going to be a tragedy or the possibility is there, doesn't take away from the quality at all, (Like half of Shakespeare's plays… or movies you rewatch despite knowing the ending) but after a while you start to just expect it, and that gets in the way as well. I like the occassional darker ending thats willing to go against what you normally expect, but damn if the Eclipse wasn't incredibly... precedent setting.
So Magnifico is gonna die? :cwy:
I suppose we can always hope for Puck to be the token victim.
-
Out of curiousity, how many Behelits does Guts have on his person again?
-
Out of curiousity, how many Behelits does Guts have on his person again?
Doesn't he just have the one?
-
-
I don't know what he's going to do with it, since he can't use it himself, which I don't think he would even if he could.
