In Dragonball the main chara dies…several times.
Manga in which the main character dies? *SPOILERS*

-
@Don:
In Dragonball the main chara dies…several times.
We already said that…several times.
And people already missed the entire intent of the opening question… several times.
-
Shin Angyo Onshi, Cowboy Bebop, and Rurouni Kenshin.
-
and as far as I know there aren't even any scanlations
Actually there are 8 raw volumes of its online.
!
And 5 scanlated chapters. -
@RobbyBevard:
And people already missed the entire intent of the opening question… several times.
That is, actually, not because they are not capable of comprehending it…but because they skimmed the op in a haste to prove themselves.
Yeah...DB's main char died several times. People sure didn't know. Must answer it first. -
@RobbyBevard:

The thread should have been answered and then closed already…several times.
And by first reading every post in here i would have already spoiled myself...several times. -
@RobbyBevard:
Did you guys pay any attention to the actual question asked?
The series does move regardless of his resurrection…
It could be argued that he was never resurrected...
No, I didn't read it…

Well, actually if it's just a matter of yes or no, there isn't many point for this thread. The answer is yes. If we just list them, it will just be spoiler, and not much of discussion.
And we can't actually discuss the point of this type of storytelling without spoiling each other. -
I want my spoilerz now! Even for mangas I'll never read I need my spoilerfix. Spoil to your heart's content.
Please. One more. Just one more.. and unfortunately I can't spoil any of you as I don't know any such manga.
Seriously, spoil away. I'm interested to see an author do that in an inventive and succesful way.

I heard desert punk had the main character die and the story continued.
-
Does Q & A Count?
-
in Mahou Tsukai Kurohime the MC dies
[hide]then the story switches to a different character and that character becomes the new MC while the old MC gets rez by a vengeful God who turns the old MC into the Death God….boob(s) action, lolis, and shotas entails...[/hide] -
All I can come up with is Vagabond Vol 14 till 20, you were reading this awesome story of this guy Musashi and then plouf the story went about this other guy Kojiro. I geuss you'd have the same feeling, if the main died.

@Fire Fist:
Does Q & A Count?
No it doesnt. It's even a terrible example actually since Kyu-chan wasn't the main character, hell, he even died before the story begins and he reappeared throughout the story as a ghost. I expected an Adachi's manga to be mentionned in this thread, but definitely not this one.

Shin Angyo Onshi
Sanctuary
Akumetsu
Certain parts of JJBA -
! Mirai Nikki
I read it sometime ago, I don´t remember if the main character has died yet, but I´m pretty sure he dies at some point.
Only one chapter left to scanlate; I'd assume he dies in the final chapter, then.
-
Doesnt the main character in Pluto die in volume 6 of an 8 volume series.
-
Akumetsu
Guess this does sort of make sense. The main character does in fact die (…and is subsequently replaced by a clone, which isn't actually resurrection, so it does follow the "no resurrection" quota), AND the series goes on without a hitch.
Speaking of Akumetsu, that was a damn good series. It's intricate conglomeration of both political and governmental criticisms with gory, over-the-top, ax-slashing action was marvelous: it's definitely one of my favorite series.

I have a few good ones:
! Yuyuhakusho guy died the very first episode :D
all jokes aside tho:
X 1999 its about the end of the world and two groups fighting it out
Fushigi Yuugi
Basilisk another show about two groups of ninjas battling it out
And i know i've got a few others but i just can't completely remember since most of them were animes during the 1990s
! Another anime whose name i forgot since i saw it before 2000 goes something like this: eight main characters each have a gem/jewel/talisman of some sort hidden or engraved in either body parts or preferred weapons whose main mission is to save the galaxy and rebuild the planet earth or something. All i know for sure is that the main character is a kid with a talisman in the sword, a talking dog with talisman in the fang and other characters had their talismans engraved or hidden in the eyes, dice, gun etc. This was a pretty good anime too bad i can't remember the name though. If someone thinks they know what the title is pls send me a message :D -
Samurai 7, perhaps, depending how you define 'lead characters' – titular characters start dropping about halfway through the story, and by the end, only three are left standing.
-
desert punk, death note, code geass, TTGL, Gantz(I think he dies once)yu yu hakusho, DBZ, elfien lied, Gun Grave(id have to kill myself if i forgot that one).
Brandon Heat! Harry Mcdowel!! BRANDON HEAT!!! HARRY MCDOWEL!!!!!!
and hopefully Naruto

-
How about
! Air TV? I dont know if its a manga but in the anime the main character dies (both of them actually)
-
I think thematically speaking,
! 20th Century Boys is a good one for this topic. Regardless of the shitty twist that Kenji comes back in the end, about 80% of the story is carried out under the assumption that he is dead, and all of the evolution of the remaining characters is at least partly a reaction to his "death." If you ignore the last 5 volumes or so, it handles the topic really well.
-
Rurouni Kenshin.
Kenshin only died in one of the movies that was like some weird alternative ending. In the manga
! he ends up marrying Kaoru and having a kid with her.
Watsuki did seriously contemplate killing off Kaoru though when Enishi showed up.
elfien lied
In the anime it was sort of left ambiguous. Was it different in the manga?
