I cannot FOR THE LIFE OF ME find previews for the next eps. Where do you guys find them? I usually go to youtube, but it's been completely useless lately =_=; So I saw screencaps of Shiryuu, but I've not actually SEEN the preview.
Also..since I saw the screencaps of Shiryuu..I was thinking he was in this weeks ep, when he wasn't =_=; SADNESS
Episode was WONDERFUL, Ivankov had me dying of laughter the WHOLE EP, he was done soo well, soo much emotion in Bon-chans voice as he cried being worried about Luffy ;; God..what a great ep, I wish that they were ALWAYS animated this well ;;

This episode was half and half in my book. I liked all the acting (especilly from Ivan-san), and the added clip at the end with Luffy and Ace was too adorable to resist. But overall I don't think I really cared for the animation style and all the random shots of the okama dancers every time they needed filler. Speaking of filler, Buggy and Mr. 3 were hilarious as usual lolz. Thier filler wasn't that long either which made it more enjoyable, but I hope this is the last shot of them for a while.

Did Tate's animation skills really need to be wasted on Iva's dance? There must be better episodes for him in the near future, instead (I know there is). There wasn't a whole lot to animate in this episode, so an art guru would seem like the better choice here. Oh well, it was still good.

I know, right? Especially considering how I have something of a love/hate-thing going on with Tate's style. On one hand, he makes some damn fine action-scenes, but on the other hand, I really don't like how his drawings are almost constantly off-model and severely lacking detail. Fortunately, this episode seemed to be the exception, as the artwork was actually surprisingly good. But yeah, they definitely should have saved Tate for a more action-heavy episode, because really, that's what he does best.

personally i love iva and is my favorite charecter from the impel down arc but pretty much not even a full chapter's worth of material for this episode, it pisses me off anyway, does anyone else hate half a chapter footage per episode?

Is it the fluid motion or something? Because whenever he/she does an episode the faces of the characters are always so awful. This one seemed quite an improvement but other episodes I was rather disappointed with.

It wasn't half a chapter it was the remaining half of 537 + first half of 538. They've been doing this for a while now with the episodes.

Tate did not handle Movie 6 (though I think that that was around the time he started evolving his style into what it is today). He did handle Movie 9 though.
And most people like him thanks to the animation quality and the fact that his episodes are usually very well directed.

i for one, really like his style. the fluid motion is just one thing i love .. i also love the art ^^'' yeah, i really do. movie 6 is my favourite movie for many reasons, and the art is one of them. i just think it's really beautiful. ^^'' and yeah .. tate's art really reminds me of it. go tate!!!

THANK YOU! That's my whole problem with this animation. I think that when they were drawn like kids even, very cute, but the faces looked off and the heads seemed too big. Whenever the scene wasn't moving so much it all seemed pretty okay, but when the dancing scene happened it all looked so weird. On the plus side though, I LOVED how they animated Death Wink. If nothing else, THAT was perfect!

Well, I thought the episode was excellent. The pacing seems pretty good albeit the filler dancers was too obvious a technique to eat up time. But it was still awesome nonetheless. Tate delivered this episode…who am I kidding? He always delivers IMO. Sometimes I wish most of the series could just be animated by him. ^^

You know I noticed that too when Bon bounced back from the door it totally ruined the effect. i really did like the death wink. The dancing although kinda crazy wasnt bothering me due to content but just due to how much they spammed it. I understand filling an episode but it was a bit overdone

This ep was pretty good. Iva and Luffy's VA's were awesome in this ep. I could've done without all the extra dancing, but I know that's their way of filling the ep out, so I can deal. And Tate really got the Death Wink perfectly.

despite even more of those tedious buggy and mr. 3 shenanigans, i gotta say that this was one of the best episodes they have had in a REALLY long time. great direction at the end there.

I was really looking forward to the gender changing, mainly because I wanted to see how his/her voice is handled.
Well, nothing special there I guess, a great episode with a slightly too slow pacing for my liking, but Ta~te<3. Yeah. Bon boy and Iva are just too awesome, and gosh Mayumi Tanaka I love you.

Wow, amazing episode. Seriously I didn't think the chapters covered would really move me. Tate's Magic touch is unbelievable. Best episode in this arc so far.
The animation was really awesome in this one, Tate really improved a lot.
Next week looks great as well.

Ivankov has a speech quirk where he adds a 'v' to the front of his personal pronouns.
Eg 'vatashi' and 'vanata'. You can hear him clearly in the episode.
