Anyway, this thread seems to have unintentionally derailed and turned into a riddle thread. It's in kmo's sig now, so perhaps we can once again (re)iterate who we want to see on the crew in the future. On that note, I'd like to see an insect zoan, but one whose animal form is exaggeratedly large like the beetle Hercules saved Usopp from. This idea came to me from the minidiscussion on another zoan joining the crew.

I had heard about this riddle in one of my uni courses that deals with graph theory, but never actually seen it. It seems like the biggest problem is the confusing way in which the data is presented. So I noted down all the variables and drew lines between them, that helped a bunch. And then after you fill out a few obvious ones, you are left with some things you have to "guess" between two options, and I lucked into always picking the right ones so it went pretty quick. Ofcourse I was a dumbass and misread one of the rules (thought the horse was TWO houses down from the Kools smoker) and this has a different solution, so I ended up solving the thing twice lol.

Anyway thanks for pointing this one out to me, it was pretty cool.

I voted for Hancock! Her interactions with the SH crew are going to be hilarious (compare with Jimbei "hello, I am fat and I'm gonna die here" zzz). However I think if she joined that her character would get stale so ideally we would get a temp join.

Characters evolve, you know. Hancock would eventually be less jerky to her crewmates.

As for Jimbei, he may have more depth, it's just that so far we don't know anything about his personality besides "honor and debt and I'm willing to die today".

Of course we know more about her. Besides loving Luffy, she:

Hides her sentiments, masquerading under a jerkass attitude and mistreating everyone to avoid revealing any sign of weakness;
Is terrified of her past as a slave and wish to never be manipulated like that again;
Deep down, she's not a bad person.

Most of this is shown in chapters 521-522. Now show me the depth of Jimbei, please.

Jimbei is possible. If their next destination is Fishman Isle, and they usually gain a crew member on an island they visit, then it may be likely based on that.

Although if you were to ask me, I'd rather have another female join, just to balance the roster out.

If anyone is willing to talk about his favorite character joining without attacking other characters or try to sound like his reasons are supreme and undeniable, I'm all for it.

Now, when someone starts saying that other characters are "sex slaves" or are impossible to join for flimsy (or unspoken) reasons, then he's just asking for trouble.

Kuja means nine snakes, Hancock is a kuja, her emblem is a skull with nine snakes, Brook was number eight, Hancock will be number nine. You can't ignore the foreshadowing.

Just my two cents:

Jinbei- I do agree with the guy who posted earlier saying that Jinbei will probably be the "Conis" or "Vivi" type character, aiding them in Fishman Island but not becoming a real member.

Hancock- Hancock is definitely a character people hate because of her attitude/personality and her love of Luffy which doesn't seem to belong in One Piece if further developed. But, I think she does have a good chance at becoming the next crewmate. I'm not going to be surprised or anything like that if she isn't, but there are many things about Hancock that fit in with the "Being a Straw Hat Requirements" such as having a sad past, having a dream (one hasn't been officially molded except maybe staying with Luffy but I can see her having one), and fitting in with the crew to make interactions interesting. Luffy also seems to at least appreciate what she's done. Also, remember what Elder Nyon said about the empresses dying because they couldn't be with who they fell in love with?

People seem to think that "love" in One Piece means the series will become a shoujo, with a loooooong shy romance between Hancock and Luffy, with love triangles, three to four chapters with them trying to say "I love you" to each other or with entire chapters dedicated to picnics or dates between them. And then they'll walk around calling each other "my love" and with hands together and do romantic things.

Heck, the "love" angle will probably be played for laughs and resolved off-panel. Maybe in the end they are married or have a child after a timeskip, but I don't see it going beyond that.

Hancock's presence do not need to disrupt the "party" feel of colorspreads. Her "romance" with Luffy wouldn't really change (just add) to the crew dynamics.

I know this sounds retarded but I read a post somewhere and someone was saying how the crew needs to even out... and that currently 4 members have noticeable and important scars.

Luffy - duh
Zoro - That Mihawk gave him
Nami - The stabbing thing
Chopper - The broken Horn

and 5 members don't so we need more scars!! (Or tattoos)

I have to say, I'm feel two things are going to happen.

I think Oda is going to super-troll us and not have anyone join this arc.
While I get the feeling at least one character we already know about will join, none of the characters so far have "proven themselves" as characters that must join.
