Hancock and Jinbei were still hyped up as Shichibukai. They would be getting that spotlight, joinage or not.
The other Shichibukai received much less spot light than they did.
Also, nobody's discussing Ivankov, right?
None that I am aware of.

I'm not talking about the war, you numbnut.
When this arc began, there were two Shichibukai that remained unintroduced, yet their presence in the war was decided upon. Shichibukai are concidered important characters, hence they need spotlight at some point. Doflamingo could get more, but Crocodile, Blackbeard, Moria, Mihawk and Kuma have been well introduced and established prior to the war.
Hancock and Jinbei's spotlight may very well have been for the same reason that Akainu got the most spotlight of the admirals this arc. Because it was their first appearance.
Would you rather have seen them as two quickly introduced opposing characters, getting no more screentime than a few squares fighting Whitebeard commanders?
Even if you meant the series as a whole, they've still had more screen time than all others except maybe Croc and Moria.
Moria will join as former boss character

That's a pretty big "except" and besides, some characters are bound to have more screentime than others. That's just the way it is. The plot demanded it for Jinbei and Hancock, since they teamed up with Luffy. If you want to argue from that angle, use the "team-up" argument and not "screentime".

Croc was the main villain in one of the biggest arcs of the series and Moria is less developed than the two of them anyways

How is Moria less developed than Jinbei?
bonney may be going after blackbeard so that means her crew is going to get killed so she still has a chance to join luffy's crew! if she gets wrecked at fishman island then she would join there.
I'm disappointed, I expected this thread to be up like 9 pages since the chapter came out XD. Going to let you guys banter among each other for now, I know where my allegiances lie in this discussion ;P to me nothing much has changed as this is what I was expecting (although not heading to Amazon Lily… just that Hancock would stay with Luffy for a while guarenteed).

U stole my thunder, but Bonney is going after the SHs, when she said that idiot, its gotta be Luffy. Remember how some thought Nyon was going to be the grandma of the group, wrong… Bonney is the G-ma of the group, who knows how old she is w/ her fruit power.
Boa's chances shot up again w/ Luffy going back to AL ( so I guess most of us were wrong thinking he wouldn't go back there...o well)
No i was the one who said that^^
DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
my own dumb theory taken from me how could you
pretty sure the former boss going into new world is going to be hancock. croc and moria are no way. the strawhats won't forgive them, they were the leaders of the said bad things, unlike the forgivable hatchi's and others.
jimbei was never a former boss, just suspected possible one. i doubt its buggy, he seems to be off doing his own thing with his new crew. ha i can't wait to see him with his new crew, on a new ship (possibly) his crew in their pirate outfits adn so on.
How is Moria less developed than Jinbei?
-We know more about Jinbei's past.
-Jinbei shows emotional interest, Moria has three faces, Laughing Face, Pissed Face, Puzzled Face.
-We know more about Jinbei's motivations for his actions.
I have nothing against Moria, but he's fairly 2 dimensional.
jinbei joining would be the best thing ever. i think he has the best possibility
we will have a pretty good idea once luffy recovers and talks with jinbei as to where he stands, although we could lose him at fishman island.
hancock hmmm really just cant see it happening, shes a leader with the highest form of haki not a follower. marguerite is more likely i think.
croc bvoy is a wildcard, (maybe he will be like vegeta) pretty low chance of this haha probably the same as hancock joining.
Heh, I knew this chapter would create waves of optmism for supporters of Hancock, Jinbei, Perona, Ivankov, Inazuma, Law, Margaret and Moria for nakama… lol!
So, by Hancock's words, Law's submarine is going to Amazon Lily? Will Law want to go? By the spoiler, I presumed that Hancock would use the marine ship to reach AL, but she seems to be calling the Kuja. Won't that take a lot of time? Over a week from AL to Marineford, plus the voyage back... They may be interrupted before the Kuja come.

well they head to amazon lily, she leads them there. and as they reach the calm belt her ship is there waiting and she, luffy and most likely jimbei hop on that ship and law heads off to new world
besides based on the supernovas it appears law has the fastest ship being a sub since he arrived tah marineford way before they did. so who knows how long it takes to reach the calm belt by amazon lily for their sub from marineford

16 chars of WTF LAW?
^He's not saying Law will join…:getlost:

Remember this is a manga, and if Hancock can use her SNAKE to track a Submarine at BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN FLOOR. I think a boat can make it there over by the next chapter…

Believe it, there are weirdos who believe in the most unlikely characters to join the crew.

I'm more worried about the marines getting to Amazon Lily before they do. The only reason its going to be a week or longer is because they can't use the Tarai current, which the marines can use. And yeah it will probably just be Law dropping Luffy and Jimbei and Hancock off on the Kuja Fleet ship… if its not, lol we are going to be in for some 'interesting' reactions from some of Laws crewmembers of the people on Amazon Lily. But yeah I too was wondering why on earth would Law go all the way to Amazon Lily and back just to accomodate Luffy. Seems like one hell of a diversion for him and like he says, he has no loyalty to help anyone.

The manga still follow its own laws. The fact that the Kuja ship would take more than a week to reach Marineford was a very important plot point back in Amazon Lily.
However, I liked the idea that they may just head to the border of the Calm Belt and meet the kuja there.
if i could choose myself
jinbei and croc because i know they would have a great rivalry going
although if bon-chans still out there…... we can only hope

haha yeah bon chan would be great, hopefully hes not in the okama fields.
I except him to turn up in 100 chapters haha :)

I took the chapter to indicate that Law was the only one who decided to help Luffy, and that all the supernovas were watching the war as it was ongoing.
Evidence to support this theory is Apoo wondering if Law was really planning to help Luffy since Law is known for his cruelty.
Remember this is a manga, and if Hancock can use her SNAKE to track a Submarine at BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN FLOOR. I think a boat can make it there over by the next chapter…
I understand your point, but I think you mixed up some OP "physics" a bit.
The boat will most likely appear next chapter, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's a narrator's box indicating it's been three, four or more days time. After all, Oda made it a big deal that it'd take a week to get from Amazon Lily to Impel Down, and only with the aide of the Tarai current, the Marines are able to get there in four days.
True, true.
But now I'm curious about what is going to happen in Amazon Lily, will Hancock leave the island, will the marines catch on? Will Marguerite have some plot significance? Will Ivankov remain? Or set off to go tell Dragon? Damn you Oda…always keeping us on the edge of our seats!
Law's just going because he wants to pick up some chicks.
My interpretation of the chapter was a bit different, and after reading a few posts here I feel obligated to share.
Firstly, it was my understanding that Hancock would call the Kuja because their ships could tow Law's submarine through the Calm Belt.
Secondly, Ivankov's crew talked about using the Marine ship to get to Kamabakka Island.
Thirdly and finally, Luffy and Jinbei still haven't totally recovered. For them to survive, Law probably needs to apply regular treatments. Sure, Luffy's surgery is done, but it's Law's duty as a doctor to wait for him to at least wake up. That is, if he's anything like most of the other doctors we've seen (excluding Q and Hogback).

All Jinbei needs is to change his wounds periodically. It's a magma punch that didn't even hit an organ.
Same for Luffy since it barely pierced him. All of the other pain he asked for will have to be treated with rest and food. I feel Law's tagging along til Luffy wakes up and possibly Oda has something in store for him.
Maybe he'll recruit some amazons in his crew.
Law is doing a favor, I don't think he will delay his plans even more for a rival. He already saved Luffy and if Hancock can offer some Kuja doctors to take care of him, he should leave.
I believe when the Kuja Pirates come, Iva and the Newkamas will go away with the Marine ship. Law will follow Hancock, leave Luffy and Jinbei on the island she said and then will be escorted back the same pirates so they can leave Calm Belt safely and keep going to the New World.
And on another note, just quoting myself from the chapter thread:
reading the spoilers I was thinking if Buggy and Mr.3 (everyone from Impel Down) was there with Iva. They are not. And I am really happy for that.
Seriously, having Buggy as a SH was an old hope I had for OP. Since he appeared in ID, every chapter I was reading as if trying to find hints he would join and hating everything that pointed on other way (like Mr.2 being so awesome in ID and it making it look like he would join instead of Buggy).
Now that Buggy is not with Luffy anymore, is like I am free from it. I will try to re-read ID, I already loved it before, but I believe I will enjoy it much more now that I am free of the "Buggy for SH" obsession.
Perona will join Kid Pirates.
It will better for she to have full Horror type crew.
Rather than die.
Oh. And I'm afraid something in my sig gonna happen after all.
Oda's gonna prove stick figures are dumb?
Okay.
Moria will join Kidd pirates.
Please someone save moria
thinking of joining members, isnt' hancocks va like a super good one. like the main in sailor moon. also wasn't jimbei orignally a really big shot too, mr. satan.
i dont' know how they decide who to hire for va's. does toei do it all on their own for most or would oda have been like this person is going to be around for a long long time so make sure you hire someone good, someone willing to stay long time, someone youc an afford for long time, ect.
thats why i'm wondering if having a well known va like hancock has, helps her chances of joining or hurts it?
Stick Figure for nakama.
We're entering the Book of Revelation part of this thread.
Curious, the chapter when Hancock introduced had a color page of all the straw hats when THEY were introduced!
Coincidence? Or foreshadowing?
Perona will join Kid Pirates.

Rather than die.
shes not good enough of a character to be on Kidd's ship
Moria will join Kidd.
nahh Moria is probably stronger than Kidd
nahh Moria is probably stronger than Kidd
Than Moria will join Luffy in the future as former boss just kidding
it will be intersting how many will go to AL. If all go well theres not alot to talk about.
If theres a split up anyone whos going to AL will have a chance.
I hope Hancock gonna join, but with the recent chapter the probability that Jimbei is joining went up alot for me. tho i dont mind if both are joining.
i just really dont hope margareth gonna join shes way to weak and there are already too many weak characters around

Agreed. Hancock for nakama!!
I don't see how this chapter boosted Jinbei's chances (whatever they might be). I think they remain unchanged this time around, since we already knew he was accompanying Luffy wherever they were headed. Hancock caught up to Luffy and that effected her chances, and Perona's master is about to be killed, which may end up effecting her chances. All Jinbei did was wake up.

When the spoiler came, we got the impression that everyone was heading to Kuja Island (Law, Jinbei, Ivankov…), but after reading the full chapter, we know Ivankov is not going there, and while Hancock mentions the submarine going to Amazon Lily, there's the possibility that Law will just leave Hancock and Luffy to the Kuja and will go to the New World. If that happens, Jinbei may hitch a ride to FIshman Island with Law.
So, I agree, Jinbei's chances stayed the same. If he goes to Amazon Lily, his chances will grow. If he goes to Fishman Island, his chances will diminish a little (not much, because he will surely come back in his proper arc).

The way Jinbei spoke seems to me that he is going as well till Luffy will wake up.

That was already the general opinion, if I'm not mistaken?
Though, now that he's awake, he might head to Fishman Island instead, and that would send him away from Luffy.
I don't think Jinbei will go with Luffy to Amazon Lilly. I think as soon as he recovers enough he will go to Fishman Island to protect it.
Jinbei would need to be assured that Luffy's alright before leaving.
