Great Pretender

I watched the first season on Netflix this week. I love a good heist story, and I think all three of them worked really well at being entertaining and fleshing out its cast. The NYAV dub is superb, and it seems like they worked hard to get a lot of POC actors on board. The main character, Edamura, is kinda lame, but for what he is, I think he's utilized well. And the animation by WIT is stellar. Gotta love that they actually licensed the Freddy Mercury version of the title song for the end credits.

Part two comes out in Japan this month, so hopefully the dub will be out before year's end. Check it out when you can!

It's an original TV series, not based on a manga.

I recommend you to check out The Confidence Man JP, a TV series written by the same guy who wrote and spearheaded this project.
The Great Pretender is great and touches on character drama and all that because of the medium's nature.
The Confidence Man JP is alot crazier and clever bar maybe the first episode.

So they do take place in the same universe, that's real nice.

Edit: I finished it, it was fine but Confidence Man was way better.
The last arc was..absurd and knowing the writer that would be expected but this was really out of proportions even for me.
