All right guys…here's the story. Recent I made a Fullmetal Alchemist AMV, The Silent Elegy. While it went over well…it definitely needs brushing up.

The thing is, since making the video, I've found another version of the song that I like. And I'm having trouble deciding if I should stick with the version I originally used, or if I should adjust the editing and reedit to this other version I've found. So I'm posing the question to you guys - Here are two versions of Jimmy Eat World's Hear You Me. The first is the one I use in the video as it is now. The second is the one I found after I made it. Which do you think captures the emotion of having lost a loved one better? Version 1 or Version 2? Let me know what you think.

Version 2 seems to be the stronger of the two songs, to me.

But, take my unusual acoustics for what they are, and it could go either way.

I'll watch your current version in a sec, and edit my post with thoughts.

… Beautiful. A great tribute. I may not have seen much of FMA, but it was damn great. Superb job!

Yeah, I do like the second version - a LOT. It's just sometimes I feel like the first version has more emotion in the voice…I'm not sure. Hmm...Thank you so much for your input! ^_^

The first piece is a gentler version, which might work better at some points, but it was kind of hard to hear it and it seemed to lack raw, unfettered emotion until towards the end.

But, both pieces are great, and your video does justice to both mediums, animation and song.

I think version 1 more softer, and it seems more emotional. Even though version 2 was really great (I almost couldn't choose cause I was going back and forth).

hmmm… I sort of think version 2 struck me more than 1 cause it was more stronger, but if you wanted to put in more 'soft' emotion then I think 1 would be good. So personally I like version 2 better. ugghh... confusing.

ps. I went to a concert about 3 days ago and Jimmy Eat World was as support act so now I know them a little more now. Really good band to pick Seta.

I just finished listening to both versions of the song and watched the video, which i must say was beautiful in everyway Seta. As for the song I think you made the best choice. Again, beautiful work I honestly can't express in words how wonderful that was. (I'm a big Huges fan)

sanji-desu - Yeah, I know…it's a really hard decision. The second version has some really nice instrumental bits. But there's just something about the way he says "A song for a heart so big....God couldn't let it live." in the first version. I feel like it has more emotion in it. Wah, it's hard to choose! And yes, I love Jimmy Eat World you're lucky you got to see them! Bleed America is one of those CDs where I can listen to every track. Thanks for voting! ^_^

Mr. Prince - Thank you SO much...I'm glad that you liked it. I still want to fix up the video, but I'm really glad the emotion got through. I'm also a huuuge Hughes fan....He's underappreciated sometimes. Thanks for listening and voting! And for going through the trouble of watching the video!

I apologize for the double post…but this poll has been in a tie for days, and if anyone is bored enough or has the time to compare the songs, it'd be much appreciated. Right now, I'm kind of leaning towards the second one. But I don't know >.< I could use some more thoughts!

I'm going with version 1. I'm not saying its more emotional than the other song but I think that it has more of a wistful sadness to it which I think fits well with the missed opportunities feeling in the song. Both versions are great, though, so you can't really go wrong with either one.

As for the video itself, I loved it. I love the hell out of Hughes and the song fits so well. Excellent video (and The Navigator and the Swordsman is excellent too :D ).

This one has a different tone to it so I can't see all the transitions working out the same they did in your first one. First version of the song dragged on a bit I always thought (had seen your movie before this post). 2nd one gradually builds up and keeps adding stuff so I think it might be superior. Good amv by the way.

If it were me however, I'd focus the time on doing another good tribute to a character from FMA(or a plot element) since you've succeeded once with the Hughes theme already. But then again you didn't ask that.
