oh shoot. ya. mavericks. your right. sorry, i was so tired last night i was falling asleep at my pc. sounds like the story and the details are more developed from the original X series that i'm used to.
Yeah, it is a bit more complex in story than most of the X series since you can explore and fight in mission based style while talking to various humans/ reploids instead of "pick a boss." The X series did get much more intricate in story with X7 (even though the game was pretty buggy, Axl's backstory and X's disillusionment were excellent facets of story) and X8 (which is a great game that never got the recognition it deserved, Lumine's character and Sigma's final destruction being excellent plot points). Obviously Command Mission was story-heavy, but it was an RPG.
As for Zero series, Zero joins a human girl named Ciel's resistance against Neo Arcadia, which as Tizoc said is supposed to be a safe haven for humans. For fighting against Neo Arcadia, the resistance members are labled Mavericks. However, it is the commanders of
Neo Arcadia who have truly gone Maverick, by deciding that the only way for humans to be safe is to force them to live in Neo Arcadia and ONLY Neo Arcadia.
That's the basic starting points, but with Elpizo, Dark Elf, Weil, Omega, Elf Wars, etc., there is a lot of great stuff in the Zero series to check out.
