Anyone here watch SAW? I've watched all of the films so far and I like how the story progresses so far. The twist endings are simply brilliant, they never cease to amaze me. The second I hear the Hello Zepp music, I know something awesome will happen. Of course the first movie is considered the best by the majority of people and I agree with them, but I have high expectations for SAW VII. Especially since it's pretty clear that Dr.Gordon will return.

This theory about SAW VII I saw on YouTube is amazingly convincing, I actually never payed attention to these minor details and apparently this speculating has begun not after SAW VI, but after SAW V. And since it's been confirmed that Dr.Gordon's fate will be answered in SAW VII, I'm pretty sure it's going to be an awesome comeback. Half watched first one and bits of the second. These films are pretty much terrible XD I dunno why people find it appealing to watch people get mutilated and tortured unless they themselves have something wrong with them.

the first two movies were good…than they were rly shit up to the 6th movie(the newest) which was again okay and watchable..the beginning was rly good in my eyes.

possible spoilers hmm a small guess? people are trapped in 'puzzles', many will die, jigsaw is somehow still alive (digitally or w/e the writers pull out of their ass) and there will be a sequel..again

Yeah, this series is fucking terrible.

Fucked up gory scenes, mixed with a half-assed plot and mediocre actors. Pretty much Saw in a nutshell.

I'm a fan of gore and a good old horror picture show, but this series is definitely terrible. I was never a fan of the serial killer line of thrillers, but these films are just a bunch of random attempted over the top gory scenes barely tied together with a weak excuse plot. It's basically the Family Guy of horror movies.

The first one was a great movie, fresh plot, great actors and suspensful til the end.

The rest were just splatter porn, they dropped all pretenses of having a story and it just devolved into the writers contemplating what would be the most gruesome yet unexpected way we can kill someone.

I will admit that I have not seen the movies, but even assuming there was some great master plot, it's folly to spread it so thinly. What if Citizen Kane was divided into five different movies, mostly consisting of the reporters guessing at what Rosebud is while discovering maybe one or two clues per film?

The overarching plot is only there to connect the films. I do not think the makers expected the series to go for seven movies. I'm not sure they even believed it would extend past one Hell, didn't they kill off Jigsaw even at one point? The plot is crafted as an excuse to a), deliver the action and b), continue the series as need be. They probably just tried to repurpose it since 'here is a serial killer, go die now' gets old fast.

My fiancee' and I are huge fans of the SAW franchise. So much so that we have plans to cosplay John and Amanda in October for a horror convention. We love the plot twists and never-ending story complications, mainly because we're smart enough to understand them and keep track. We're looking forward to SAW VII just as we did the previous ones. It seems that SAW VII will be "Hoffman VS Gordon VS Jill". But with Hoffman now a wanted fugitive, he's going to have some trouble keeping his ass clean.

So MiniLuffy, do you own the SAW video game?

I think the first one was really good. It didn't need a sequel, it was a great movie all by itself, but they decided to make more just to cash in on the bloodlust of the general public.

This series never dies. I watched the first four movies and oddly enough thought the second was the best. (Maybe because it had my girl crush in it?)

It's not that the twists are hard to understand, they're just retarded. It's like Heroes with the neverending twists that eventually got tiring and annoying. They were never surprising. Oh whoop de doo something f'ed up happened again.

I'm a gore fan and I didn't like the gore either.

So you have never seen one of the movies but thought you would give your two cents and judge the people who like it? Cool. And Wolfwood I wouldnt call the Saw movies splatter porn. Im pretty sure your thinking about Hostel. I like the Saw movies but I dont go out of my way to watch them at the theater or anything. I just saw the 6 on a couple days ago and thought it was pretty good. The first 2 will always be the best but that doesnt mean the other ones are bad movies. I know Iv seen alot worse from some of the other current horror films out there. The Saw series is just fun to watch where you know what to expect and basically just get to see some cool traps.

I saw some gameplay footage earlier and I can't say I found the game all that amusing. I don't know, I just think the concept of Saw doesn't fit to be transferred in a video game.

Because theres a reason they're getting killed? Like the insurance dick heads in the last one. The traps are also designed around what they did in life and what they have to do now to get out. You probably didnt know though if you dont watch the movies.

Think you confused me with local, i've watched 1, 3, and 4 so while i cant speak for the other ones i can say that in 3&4 the so called "plot" was just a sideline that was there for them to showcase a couple of new twisted killing devices.

There's your problem. I think that's everyone's problem. I hate how they decide to broadcast some of the later movies on TV, while not airing the previous ones beforehand. Start with 1, then 2, then 3 etc. Otherwise you're just being ignorant.

Hostel was terrible. The first hour and a half is just people going around having sex and smoking illegal substances. And a Norwegian dub of Pulp Fiction . Then they finally get to the part that they advertised, though it still doesn't live up to the hype. Another thing is that I watched it with my parents. Yeah.

I saw Saws 1-3 and the only one that had nudity in it was the third (that I can remember) and that was actually for a reason. So there goes the porn part. Yes, it is violent but, the first one at least was mostly psychological which is why I think it's the best. The part in the third one where

! the guy reaches for the key hanging from the shotgun trigger, then jumps out of the way for it to shoot the guy behind him was pretty funny though .

Actually, I own it and it's AWESOME! It really keeps you on your toes, and makes you think outside the box to slove puzzles.

For example, early in the game, you are faced with a dozen cabinets wired with explosives. On the door of each is a different picture. (scissors, scapel, pistol, axe, sword, etc.) One of them holds a key inside. If you open the correct cabinet, you get the key. If you open the wrong one, you die. You collect citcut batteries throughout the game. You place one inside a nearby circut, and it illuminates a series of white lights. From many angle, the lights look like nothing. But when you stand in juuuuust the right place, the lights form a giant pistol. BINGO!!!!!

And that's one of the easiest puzzles. The game is full of mind-bogglers and crazy timed challenges. I reccomend it!

SAW is different from Hostel because the "victums" have a chance to get out if they play Jigsaw's game. Though admittedly, victories are uncommon, there have been survivors that proceed to later movies.

I like the movies man, but you can't argue with the facts. And speaking of deaths, I think it's Hoffman's turn to feel the pain. In SAW VII he will most likely go after Jill Tuck, but in the end he will somehow screw himself up and the result will be his death and maybe then we'll see that Dr.Gordon has actually been helping Jigsaw this whole time.

But then again, I don't care how it turns out, I just want to watch the movie!

Yes, that is true. If they decide not to finish the story in SAW VII, then it's almost but certain they will extend it until they reach SAW X.

Personally I disliked the fourth movie's twist, probably because I was spoiled that a certain "Hoffman character" would be "coming along".

SAW V was a bit of a "explanations only" kind of movie, compared to the previous films. But I really liked SAW VI and how the story actually progressed significantly. The fact that in the end I felt the hunger for more should speak on its own. SAW VII will be awesome and you can't make me think otherwise.

Greg, don't put the "used to be good, but now it's full of crap" label on the series just yet!

They're trying to tell a bigger story, that much is clear, but they didn't need 7 films to do so because, quite frankly, it's not THAT interesting. Even if there's some revelation in 7 that makes 5 suddenly incredibly important, that doesn't take away from one whole installment of the series being a dull half-assed B-movie just to extend the story.

Five was really, REALLY terrible.

6 was neat. But not much better than 5.

I think the movie defied logic TO begin with… the series if ANYTHING have attempted to explain wat usually seemed like random occurences...

Not like there's any other yearly gory movie to look forward to so I gotta take what I can get.

It was not as flagrant in the first 3. In Saw 4 and 5. That was overblown like hell. He had freakin anticipated in his bed everything while having cancer. How many TVS he managed to get is incredible and all the equipment.

Anyway, I am still in love with the first Halloween. One of the scariest movie ever. Psycho was very creepy as well. Ironically, there was a total lack of blood.

Their strenght were atmosphere, menacing villain, camera angle, interesting main characters, suspense.

We need slasher movies that don't insult our intelligence essentially… cuz both Psycho and Halloween treated their audiences like grown ups. The new Halloween movies treat us like mindless idiots and I HATE the feeling of watching some horror films nowadays where the audience is EXPECTED to be retards. The ending of Halloween 1 was so scary because he was still alive, he could be anywhere waiting for you like death. Permanent danger. Norman bates face with the knife was so creepy.

The traditional resident evil games were scary because the producers were big fans of classic horror movies like Halloween, Terminator 1, Psycho, Alien, Nights of the living dead. You clearly saw their influences.

Well, Saw has to end because it really starting to get dumb.
