After listening to some classical music recently, especially stuff with vocals, I think it's funny how quite a bit of metal bands I've listened to just wholesale take the vocal style from 1600s/1700s music. It's kind of surreal. Like I know operatic vocals is a thing but it's weird hearing something so similar from centuries ago.
