Mariejoa for next arc?

Anyone else think that there is a possibilty Mariejoa will be the place for the next arc once all this war stuff is over?

I have a feeling that the Fishman Island arc will probably get delayed yet again.

Regardless of whatever the war's outcome will be, Luffy will definitely need time to regather all the crew back together before finally going to FI.

I doubt if he will stay at Shabondy for long since he is a wanted man there - plus the WG will be trying to track down his ass and wanna make him pay.

Also I dunno if Rayliegh has finished coating the Sunny. If he hasn't - then well Luffy will need to something while he is waiting for this and the rest of crew to regroup from wherever the hell they all are at currently. Plus it ain't excatly in Luffy's nature to sit around and do nothing either.

Another reason is that Dr Vegapunk maybe is on Marijoa, so thats another reason for the crew to got there.

Since sooner or later Vegapunk will be introduced to the manga and I have a feeling that the crew will meet him.

Plus Franky found one of his old bases in one of the coverstories and he could be tracking down Vegapunk for all we know.

A final reason is Mariejoa has mentioned quite few times already in the manga already so I have a feeling that it will be explored next since its been foreshadowed imo.

Ah.. Not sure about that, man. With Oda, anything is possible and even the implausible must be seriously considered. However, I would be really stunned if an entire arc took place there. That really is the heart of the beast, so to speak. I'm not even sure how or when the crew will meet up again, but Shabondy is just a good as guess as any. Any of the crew members could hide in the lawless zone, waiting for Luffy to show up. So in that respect, it really is much safer than the Holy Land.

I think Marijoa will be somehow connected to Raftel..but with Oda you never know.

No since the Garousei should be big players who haven't even had any build up yet. Won't see them till Dragon makes his move.

No he won't. He'll be out for a long time after the fighting because of the hormones. Out for weeks or even months isn't unlikely when he has been out for days after previous tough battles. Plenty of time for Rayleigh and the SH to regroup together when you include the week they've already had.

Teach and Ace will be more high profile fugitives in the aftermath of this war. So will Buggy, Iva, Jimbei, Crocodile, and possibly the SN, SH, and Boa. Then you have to remember 43 pirate crews making their way back to the New World, chaos at Fishman Isle with WB&Jimbei out of the picture. Plenty of shit to keep the governmen pre-occupied on top off reorganizng their own forces.

Why wouldn't he? Its been over a week? Luffy won't have a choice in whether or not he sits around.

We'll see him one day but not likely any time soon. With all that is currently going on Kuma's backstory and Vegapunk will take a backseat. I doubt Vegapunk's introduction will be as simple as going to Mariejoa and the SH finding him in a labafter evading some of his traps…que DF explanation.

A final reason is Mariejoa has mentioned quite few times already in the manga already so I have a feeling that it will be explored next since its been foreshadowed imo.

He'll be fine recuperating in Shaobondy. Raylieghs lived there in peace for years, and there's an active lawless zone and slave trading on the archipelago, I say he'll be safe there.

Its possible..I give you that! They will probably regroup where Rayliegh is since of the card. And he has probably coated the boat - wich they need for future adventures, so my guess is next arch is fishmans island. Wich will be in chaos now when WB is dead! Maybe Jimbei will follow them into the dephts.

No way. From what we saw in Dalton's flashback, Mariejoa is loaded with soldiers (Yes, actual guys in suits of armor like we saw in Shabondy, not Marines) keeping the peace. It looked super tense up there; you could even see the guards getting ready to act when Vivi was knocked over by Wapol. Being that Luffy will either be incapacitated or to the extreme point of exhaustion at the end of this war, Mariejoa would be the worst possible place for him to go.

Ship is coated after 3 days... It's been like 10!!
Ace is saved... Or killed... No more other major characters that Luffy should go to help, unless Lola's mother is next in line to be saved...
Hatchi, Papaggu, and Caimie should at least be healed by now... I doubt they'd be caught be caught again when they're hiding in the lawless region...
Strawhat Crew has Vivre Cards to head towards Rayleigh... Unless rayleigh is dead, they shouldn't take a year and a half or 17931527891237589 trillion days just to return to him... So, the crew should be regrouped after Luffy recovers from his latest misery.

Having done all of this, the only thing that is left is to either save Lola's mother or basically to head to FI... Hopefully, we don't have a mother to save in the future...

It's confusing. From Papagg's description, it sounds like it's a sheer climb. But look here in Dalton's flashback:

Yeah, the Red Line's a huge rock face from what we've seen, but there has to be something like a giant Water 7-esque hydro elevator or some secret channel somewhere, otherwise those ships seen when Kuma and Doflamingo arrive in Vol. 25 would have nowhere to go, and the people would be stuck up there, which they clearly aren't.

i'm saying no. so far we have gotten 3/4 of the main WG locations. If mariejoa is next that takes them all out and nothing left for after we find out about the missing history and have to go kick their ass

That doesn't make any sense. Doflamingo specifically states that he's never been to a Sky Island to Bellamy:

Being that Doflamingo is a guy that's "in the know" (he knew about Kuma's total conversion and other things; Ace being Roger's son was impossible for him to know, so that doesn't count), if a Sky Route to Mariejoa existed, he'd know about it, so I doubt that High West connects to Mariejoa.

Besides, this is the Eastern half of the world. The Grandline runs East - West, not West - East. High West would have been somewhere near Reverse Mountain, not Mariejoa.

Doesn't sound very plausible considering this:

Here, we see Doflamingo and Kuma arrive by ship, walking down a grassy path next to a canal; it's probably the same one we saw in Dalton's flashback. From Papagg's image, we do see that the city is smack in the middle of the Red Line, further supported by the Lighthouse we see in Dalton's flashback. That means they have to sail for a considerable distance to reach the actual city after arriving at the top.

From what I can conjecture, that canal doesn't extend the length of the city, and THAT'S why a person using that route would have to get a new ship, simply because they couldn't sail it all the way through the city. That makes the canal more like a cape or peninsula. That's the only thing I can think of that wouldn't contradict Papagg's statement.

… Or it could simply be, having never been there, he's conjecturing.

Wasn't it said by Camie or Hachi that you leave your ship behind and buy a new one once you're at the other side, prompting the Strawhats to go "No way!"?

Kuma and Doflamingo could arrive at sea level as well. We don't have a panel that shows them leaving the ship with Mariejoa in the background, do we?

Go look at the Dalton flashback again, where Vivi is crying and Igaram is holding her. Behind them is a lighthouse and sea, next to them is a canal or cape with ocean. Why would there be a lighthouse up at Mariejoa if the ships didn't actually come up there?

Furthermore, that panel I posted specifically shows the announcement "Arriving at Mariejoa from Navy HQ, Donquixote Doflamingo and Bartholomew Kuma". They're at Mariejoa.

Well I found the passage that explicitly says that you cannot pass Mariejoa by ship. You have to sell it and buy a new one. It's from chapter 496. So it's fairly recent. I'd bet that it is at least as accurate as the background from some flashback panel from almost a decade ago. You can't pass it by ship, that's for sure. http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/496/10/

If what you say is right as well that would mean that you can only enter Mariejoa by ship from one side. If this is really the case, then I'm looking forward to how will explain Oda why the World Government is going through the pain of building a frigging 10 km high lock and then does not build another one on the other side.

It's like you build the locks on one side of the Panama canal, drive to the lake in the middle, then unload your ship and carry all your cargo to the harbor on the other side. It hardly gets any dumber.

Some one earlier said that Mariejoa is the heart of the beast and I completely agree.

There are two possibilities for Mariejoa as the next arc. The first is if Luffy is captured and that is his execution ground, or if Oda decides to do a complete stealth arc with the strawhats sneaking around avoiding major battles.

All in all I would say Fishman island or New World is the next Arc.

I was going to say, since marinford is so close redline (thought not visibly close) maybe you have to pass through marine headquarters first before you can go to mariejoa. Who knows, maybe there is like a secret passageway behind marinford or something. I honestly think that where Doflamingo and kuma landed, that was marinford.

That's the thing… I'm not sure if Papagg is the most reliable person for info regarding Mariejoa... after all, he's a civilian and has never been there. But that's definitely Marineford, because even in Stephen's scripts, the voice on the loudspeaker says that they're arriving in Mariejoa from Marineford (Well, Marine HQ, as I'm assuming either Oda didn't have the name for it yet or didn't want to reveal it at that point).

What was explained to Strawhats was the way that non marines go....

Someone said Marineford was close to Mariejoa.. so how about there is a ship path from Marineford to Mariejoa... no way civilians would be allowed to take their ships through that. For pirates to have to go through Marinford and then Mariojoa ? Nobody would dare....

That's how I felt, that FI and Mariejoa would be connected. I can see them both being part of the same arc. That being said FI will be first but Mariejoa is likely included with it.

There I said something about a boss fight needed for someone to join...

With Mariojoa there could be a special fight against Boa Hancock's ex-owner... Luffy brings Boa there cause of some reason unknow and defeats that fellow.... Then Boa is valid to join the crew as many want. HOWEVER same thing about Fishman Island... just jimbie... so Mariejoa must be next for Boa to join but Fishman Island for Jimbie to join..

That is my guess... however those arcs must not mean that the person will join, just opens the possiblity for them. So if Boa will be next Crew Mate I think that Mariejoa will be next Arc.

I laugh at how the theme for this topic is that Oda will swerve us again and not even have us go to Fishman Island for another arc. Kinda funny…but also really really depressing. What's also depressing is the lack of creative ideas I'm seeing.

And why just stop there! Why settle for one island? Has everyone forgotten that these islands are basically in the same place, just separated by a few thousand meters of vertical space?

Next arc, either Fishland Island uppercut Mariejoa from beneath the sea, or Mariejoa crashes down to Fishman Island because of some kind of badassery. Because in the end, that's what this show is all about. Stuff getting it's ass kicked that you didn't even think had it coming. Like Islands. And maybe cultures too, who knows, I'd rather wait to see it happen.

maybe blackbeard will be the one that ends up going there to cause some havoc? we are all expecting him to invade marineford but him invading mariejoa would be a good twist. plus luffy and blackbeards are opposites. luffy invaded impel down and then marineford and it would be cool if blackbeard invaded impel down and then mariejoa. they are similar but they are taking different routes to be the pirate king. watch fisher tiger still be alive and locked up at level 6 and him helping out blackbeard take down mariejoa.

I must say that without the Marines Mariejoa is ill defender… no Admirals.. no Garp or Sengoku... With some dangerous level 6 prisoners turning everything there upside down wouldn't be too hard. It would usually be hard cause there would be some Admirals there instantly and so would Sengoku.

We all know that Fishman Island is coming up… we all know that Oda will do it masterly... however what we do not know if Oda will pull yet another Arc before Fishman Island... could be short arc.. could be long one.. could not be arc at all...

I've already covered that theory (might even pick up a crew member the same way we picked up franky)
