I like them like Dr.Neo Cortex and crash
Crash Bandicoot
-
-
I've only played the second game quite a long time ago and uh…it was pretty fun acutally.
-
Old school PS1 Crash is awesome
-
I think i have the first and third. They were ok. I liked Spyro better tho XD
-
Crash Bandicoot was one of the funnest series ever back in tge day, I mostly played Crash Warped and the Kart racing one when I had them. Crash Bash was pretty fun too, never owned it though.
-
^Tru dat. Me and my bros are huge fans of the series.
I didn't play much of the next gen series, but the racing games seem OK.
Still the classic PSX games are great, with the GBA ones being a close 2nd.As far as difficulty goes, Crash 1 was the hardest IMO, then Crash 2; Crash 3 wasn't that hard but was pretty fun.
-
Krash Team Racing was fun as hell at the time. I never played the Krash games though since I was leeching off my cousin's PSone.
It's kinda of a shame it's hard to find games like these in this era.
-
I had all 3 of the originals.
2 was by far FAR the best.
These days the series is a total wreck though.
-
It's gone downhill, just like every other popular video-game franchise with an anthropomorphic main character
Besides Ratchet, I guess. -
^Eh let's not delve into that ;3
@Sympathy- You can download Crashs 1, 3 & Team Racing from PSN for the PS3 or PSP. Why Crash 2 isn't available for download is beyond me.
I actually own a copy of the NTSC-U Crash 2 ^_^; -
Crash Team Racing was great, even better then mariocart for me.

I loved Crash 1. When I was 4, my mom always took me to a babysitter whenever she had to work, and the babysitter loved playing Crash Bandicoot on PSX.
She was once in the middle of a boss fight, and then my mom came to pick me up so the babysitter decided to chat with my mom for a bit and just handed the controller to me, and I just started freaking out! I hadn't played the game at all, and here I am, thrown into a boss fight out of nowhere. I thought it was the hardest/scariest things ever.
I honestly can't remember if I beat him or not. Looking back at the boss, he's actually easy as pie
-
I do miss the game style of Crash and Spyro.
Crash 1 was awesome, but Crash 2 was a lot better. Crash 3 wasn't bad.
But the best was Crash Team Racing. My favorite kart racing game by far.

Your babysitter was awesome!
-
I always prefered Spyro cause I knew that Spyro could kick Crash's ass.
Also the games were better
-
Played them all except the first one as a kid. I now have 1 via PSN and I'm dissapointed with it. Thankfully I'm balancing it with Spyro so that helps.
-
I have Crash 1,2,3, Racing, and that party game Crash Bash. I never finished one of them
I still have each one. But they are so old they probably wont work anymore.
-
I have Crash 2, 3, Bash and Team Racing. Man, the Crash Bandicoot games of yesteryear were simply fantastic.
What the crap happened?! The series has went downhill in the last few years….not to mention the characters look horrible now.:getlost:
-
Ya the same kinda happened with Spyro. Now they just have odd-looking games. I haven't played a single one since Enter the Dragonfly.
I also remembered a funny story from a few years back. I had let a friend borrow the first 3 Spyro games from me, and over the span of 2 years, he forgot they were mine and ended up selling them.
I asked him where they were, and he was like "whaaAAA~?"
It turned out that he didn't sell the 2nd game and that was all I ever got back.
-

Sure they will. PS1 games will play just fine as long as the disc isn't damaged too bad.
-

Much earlier than Crash though didnt it?
I cant remember much being good after the PS1 era
-
This series was awesome.
I loved the PSX games. -
The characters are just scary looking. Especially Crash, he looks like a hyena now.
I loved losing my shorts everytime i would die. Anyone remember when one stage in "Warped" you would get kissed by a frog and the frog turned into a bum. Haha!
-
Necro bump!
The creators of Crash talk about their early years in developing this cute little guy-
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=25795322&postcount=1
5 entires so far but more will be online in the next coming days.
Gotta say these guys were literally dedicated to their work- working MORE than 12 hours a day? I knew developers worked long hours on games but…wow.
Also the fact that the first game pushed the PSX to its limits brings a tear to my eye.All 4 ND Crash games are now available on EU PSN BTW.
-
Yeah, awesome series that definately went downhill with the last few games. Crash Twinsanity was still pretty good imo.
-
I loved this series back in the PSX era but since I never had a PS2 I never could play any of the other games, but the concept and especialy art for the last two games was horrendous and frankly felt like it was vomiting all over my childhood memories.
-
That's what happens when the original developers no longer work on a legacy franchise.
-
I was never a fan of the series, but I always wanted to play the one where you could play as Crash and Cortex. I think it was called Crash Twinsanity or something like that.
-
Crash Bandicoot 3 was the first video game I've ever played.
Now I like Spyro more (my silly dragon craze), but it's still one the best games. -
I happened to collect all 3 plus Crash team racing for about 20 bucks total ^-^
-
Will Ripper Roo ever come back to us?
Also, I played the first 3, racing and Bash. One was frustratingly hard for an OCD guy like me, two was fun, three was also fun but slightly less so, I liked racing alright and Bash was so-so. -
IMO Crash 1 is the hardest, with Crash 2 being the 2nd hardest game. Warped isn't that hard but when you get to trying to get Gold Relics @_@
Here's the 6th entry by the creators-
http://all-things-andy-gavin.com/2011/02/07/making-crash-bandicoot-part-6/
Look up for the first 5 entries. An overall fantastic read.
Speaking of which-And we figured out that if you died a lot when running from the boulder, we could just slow the boulder down a little each time.
Is this…real? I don't recall dieing a lot in the Boulder stages but...mind blown.
-

Imagine getting all platinum relics.
Not like I did.
-
lol, ya know I think I've gotten Platinums in stages that it was hard to get an S. or Gold Relic in, but this was in different playthroughs years ago.
-
Sadly enough to say, I have only beaten the 2nd Crash game (plus it was the first one I've played), played some of the 1st and some of the 3rd. The last one I got really hooked into was The Wrath of Cortex, but I never beat that one either.
-
I remember One was pretty hard. It was my mom's favourite (my mom likes Crash. In fact, it's the only video game she has ever played).
And what is Crash? I think we called him "foxdog" for a reason I forgot. -

Sonic The Hedgehog is a hedgehog by the way.

And most shockingly of all, Mario Mario's last name is , in fact, Mario :ninja:
-
Like a lot of people here, I pretty much stopped caring about these games after 3. 2 was actually my first PS game, and I played it non-stop, up until I got Final Fantasy VII. I'm not sure how well they'd hold up if I played them now, though.
-
I periodicly replay them so I can say they hold up prety well for something you can't even get a 100 % in one go.
But please, find the swine who thought putting a mandatory time trial on every level was a good idea and bring me his head on a platter.
-

I think they hold up fairly well actually. Not so much the first one but definitely the second and third ones.
-
The first one was a little bit more diverse with some of it's secrets in my opinion.
-
@No:

It's a lot harder, what with all the collected crates getting set back down to 0 when you die, making some of the later gems hard as hell.
Diverse though?
What about finding secret levels by driving into certain road signs in 3 and stuff like that? The hidden warp rooms?
I'd say 2 and 3 got way more diverse with it's hidden levels and extras
-

Wow, I didn't know bandicoot was a real animal.
Thanks, I've always wondered about that. I thought it was part of his name.
No need to answer me like that -

I had that impresion due to the keys.
And 3 had driving stages. Therefore it automaticaly gets point deducted. :getlost:
(JK I like Warped…...aside from the driving stages ....and the time trials)

Ah, the driving stages… I hated those. I always asked my brother to do them. In fact, when I replayed it a few months ago, I asked him again
My favourites were the Egypt ones. -
I never thought that the driving stages were that bad but I hated the flying levels.
The jetpack levels in 2 were where it was at
-

I guess I never liked driving games. I mostly enjoyed the flying stages.
Strangely I can hardly remember 2. Only thing I can recall is a big bird (an ostrich maybe), and a water stage where you had to jump on leaves.
-

They were prety painfull if you wanted to get a gem though.
I stil am sad they never re used the water scooter segments from 2.
And yeah , I hated the flying stages for the same thing that I hated the driving stages…...well one of the things.
You have a strict as fuck time limit and cannot move any faster even with the acquisition of new abilities.....yet while playing the time trials, even when you shoot down the last plane/blimp , you have to acount for several seconds of an uncontrolable animation of Crash flying into the exit, while the clock is stil going.
@ Nolus: actualy I don't think you ever jump on leaves in the water levels in the second game, you did that in the first.
