Wow, that things pretty cool. I tried Will Smith first, then Luffy, and then Meatwad (and then I think someone else after that). I tried to get really obscure after that and I went for Stormy Waters from Sealab, but it got it wrong all three times (though I'm not sure if all the information I gave it was 100% correct).

He was easier to beat when he first came out, but since he became popular it's been tough to win without resorting to really obscure choices like Tonjit. Also isn't there an existing topic for this…?

Either Akinator has gotten dumber over time, or the .us mirror doesn't have as large a database as the .en one. I know I've run characters by him before and he hasn't screwed up on them.

edit- nevermind, finally started working. It got Magellan and Oga Tatsumi from Beelzebub although it took two tries for Magellan and three for Oga.

Damn, this thing was spot-on. Tried first with Neuro Nogami and damned if this thing didn't get it in 20. Startled the hell out of me. Then I tried Croc and that was even easier for it to guess (15-ish, I think). It even got Shinobu Godai after about 20-some-odd questions, and Akainu.
I'm scared now.
Edit: Wait–it couldn't get Trap-chan! Har! That's okama power for ya.

Edit- Took 30 questions and one wrong guess to get the Going Merry. I looked up a character that's only in a hentai series and tried to use it and it still got it. ._.; Got Church from RvB in about 8 questions.

Holy fuck, I used Oda as the mystery character and I never thought it would get him after all those vague questions and I got blindsided by his picture!!!This thing rocks!!!
Edit: Holy fuck, it got Hancock so easily. It's not just that it guesses them right but with such vague questions and then it gives you a picture after. This thing rocks!!!

It got Charles Bukowski in about 25, Karai from Digimon in about 40, the Kool-aid man in 11, Hector from FE7 in 18 (I was amazed by this one), Summer Finn in 18, Arnold (Hey Arnold!) in 13, and Jaina Proudmore (Warcraft) in 33.

I can imagine how it works. It has a database full of people and their characteristics. With the questions it calculates how much points match with the already stored characteristics of the persons in the database. Every new question shrinks the set of people who might be the one you have in mind. Remember they have answers like yes, no, i don't know to each question…
Which can be perfectly stored as a big table with a set of attributes for each person and the respective answer to those.
On the other hand you train it when it fails to answer correctly. Which means if enough guys have the intention to make it worse they can perfectly fool it and train it to be less effective. -
It got Einstein and the fact that I just kept clicking No on the second try to see what happens. Dang.

I tried Matrim Cauthon, a book/novel charectrer.
Akinator asked 18 questions, and 16 questions were quite stupid like (is he european, is he movie charecter) only questions that could hint to correct answers were 'does he use sword= no' and 'is he novel book charecter= yes'.
This thing is so damn accurate .

This shit must be Skynet from Terminator series… it adabts and evolves with every passing moment. It asks vague questions and you are already gloating for your victory when it slams to your screen THE EXCATLY same charecter who you are thinking.
Shit I tried one minor african tribal leader from 1800's and it was asking stupid stuff like was he japenese/israleian and I was sure I would get away with it and then IT SLAMMED RIGHT ANSWER!...
You can BEAT it with some minor charecters with some very unpopular series or some minor celebritys from small countrys but shit I dont know how long it is possible.

Plus, if it never gets the answer right it'll ask you to tell who it is so it can add it to it's database. It will just keep growing

This is so damn frustrating and addictive at same time. Its almost physically painfull when it slams right answer after those vague questions. This thing is evil and I wish I never visited it but I am hooked now and must endure this.
For an example; try Dragon from One Piece, you dont know much about him and questions are pretty vague but that bastard answers it correctly
