ok, so is it just me or the news on tv are getting more and more ratarded by the minute? The last story i just saw was about a Chihuahua named Yoda, sttruggling for his life at a shelter… wow.
it just feels like some stations just focus on such trivial things when there is so many more topics and events that are more important.

and that is why you watch anime, not the news.

Quite frankly, I'd rather watch news about Yoda than the angst and drama of real life. If the news isn't about kidnappings, it's about death, war, fires, and old people. It's just so depressing, I end up turing off the tv.

I made it a point not to, but im still amezed at the stuff they cover on the rare occasions i happen to get stuck watching, and yes i agree that most of the nwas are about all the bas stuff that goes on which i think it's just as bad as some og the completely pointless stories they cover… i mean c'mnon, how much do these guys get paid anyway!!!

oh and for the record, rightt before i turned the tv off, they were talking about mcdonalds setting out to get designer uniforms for their employees... great considering phat farm was one of the names in the list tthey mentioned. how about spending the money on making the food better...if that is even remotely possible

oh and if anyone wants to add anymore news stories plese go ahead

Then again, if we didn't have the pointless stories, all we'd be stuck watching is death, war, and old people, wouldn't we? The pointless stories are there to give people a sense of happiness, that everything isn't bad and awful. It's those small, seemingly insignificant stories that make you temporarily forget all the drama and help you move on. If the news ended with someone being disemboweled, you wouldn't be as likely to forget about it.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that if it weren't for the small stories, the news would be a lot more dreary than it already is.

This is why I watch the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. News doesn't get any better than that. ^_^

There are four types of news shows (at least in the states)

-Local News: Car wrecks, fires, and "huge national story: The local connection" where they interview someone who lived in London in 1965 about the bombings today. Also the weather, sport, and surfing squirrel or cute kid act story.

-National News: Reasonably respectable delivery of national headlines, along with the obligatory government waste story and "in depth investigation" where it takes a week to explain a simple topic for idiots.

-Celebrity News: "Did Angelina Jolie REALLY order an inflatable Fun Arlong? Find out tonight!"

-Semi-news: Shows like "A Current Affair" where they have information, but it's typically sensationalistic or low-actual-newsworthiness. "Another murder in 1996, similar to the Laci Peterson one!"

Only national news is remotely worth watching.

I love the line tho, e1n.

The thing that annoys me is that ALL of the national news media pick one story and latch onto it, sucking everything they can out of it like some kind of leech. Like that Runaway Bride story. Who the hell cares?!

the bigot who thinks being an asshole is actually worth shit
