I think you'd have more luck if you expanded the topic to finding a relationship through the internet.
I kind of met my girlfriend through Facebook, but that hardly counts as she went to my high school anyways. :P
I know in some of my old games, people would have in game marriages/relationships. Hell, I was the best man at one of the weddings in Runescape back when I was 12. I've always found that to be weird myself, but hey, whatever fits your boat.

Been with my gf nearly 6 years anyway now and that was all started in person.

back in the day when icq was popular, I met my ex boyfriend, and moved across country to be with him. we're not going out anymore, but everything happens for a reason. i love where i live now.
I also met my texas friends on here. It's nice to have friends that share the same intrests as you. too bad I live so far away.

I owe Arlong Park in particular for my bestest friends.
I made an Arlong Park Forums member T-Shirt with my username on the back and wore it around Anime Expo 2008 in an effort to meet some of the other members without shouting their names in random locales. Mr. Bushido was the only one to stop me, recognized my shirt, and invited me back to the hotel room to hand out with the rest of the crew, who were mostly members here including Toshiya, Ho, Ms. Cricket, and more. Didn't get to meet Neko until A-KON. And the rest, as they say, is history.
No girlfriend though.

Well if we're talking regular friends, I met TakinawaTonfa in the midnight launch line for Smash Bros. Brawl. We hung out, chatted, and later found out we both go to this forum after I was dejected about GameStop's waiting policy (I wasn't aware we'd be doing the "take a number" thing, and waiting outside in the freezing cold for over an hour) and made the remark "I can't believe I missed One Piece for this." Long story short, now we're good buddies and we hang out alot.
And I hope to meet more folks and make more friends in the future. :)
And like SympathyX, I once had a stupid internet relationship doomed to fail. Ah, the idiocy of youth…

Lmao. I have a total of two people in my life IRL that are OP fans: my sister and one of my gay boyfriends. My sisters mocks most of the series and the gay boyfriend fangirls as well I do (and over the same things) but it works out okay.
I've never met anyone in real life, that I had previously only known on the internet. Meeting up with people at conventions seem like a good way to do it though. I should try a convention one day.

Haha you mistook what I typed because I did not meet her on AP Forums as she's not even a One Piece fan. I met her 5-6 years ago on those old ezboard forums. We were kids then but we got serious and things are working out still even after we met.
