Sony Vegas help

Well, I downloaded a bunch of torrent batches from K-F here: http://stats.macroblock.net/

Some of them from late 100s are MP4 files but they only show video on Vegas Pro 9.0 (which is fine since I won't use their audio) yet batches 211-220 and 231-240 don't show neither video nor audio. When I click on the files in Explorer on Vegas, their description is only their location on my computer, no audio or video stream attributes.

I don't know if this is a problem with the torrents themself or Vegas doesn't open certain MP4 files. Anyone know of a codec or converter for this problem?

It's the way they were compressed, Vegas can't open some files without the being directed to the codec needed to open it.

Also, if you download RAD video tools (by Bink and Smacker), you can convert almost any video file you can find to a standard xvid avi which Vegas can handle. The program is totally free. I usually wind up then converting all my files to wmv in the end, though, because the compression seems easier/faster for Vegas to handle.
