      Hey all,

Ive had the same guitar sitting in my room for about 3 years now. The neck, was broken in the shipping when i first got it. (It was a gift from a friend) I recently started getting into guitar and finally got the guitar fixed a few months ago with some wood glue and alot of time and patience and it seems to be in good shape and isnt bending or breaking.

So the problem is that the strings i just put in today are too high off the fret board so i have to push extremely hard to get the sound right. So does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is?

Could i have coiled the strings wrong or not enough?

I've never heard of guitar strings being too high off the fret board. The only thing that I can think of is that maybe the thing at the base of the guitar that the strings go through is too high but you didn't replace it :ermm: . Maybe the head of the guitar it glued on a little high?
