Ok i figured out the Zoro mode and i am SLOWLY completing it. Idk if its the 1 on 1 mode or the group battle mode that gets you Kaku.

got my official nintendo magazine (UK) and they have a preview of one piece Gigant Battle which gets a very positive response. Nothing that we don't already know i just didn't expect to see it in there so it's nice to know it's getting some recognition over here (both unlimited Cruises never had this)

Unlimited Cruise did get a review from them. It was 69% or something I think. They said it only appealed to people who followed the series (true) but was pretty good otherwise.
It was in the review round-up where they do all of the games that didn't get articles to themselves.

i subscribe so i get it sent to me but yeah it goes on sale today. Reviews new dragon Quest and DOA dimensions. Article about Ocarina of Time, easter eggs and Ideas for Pokemon 3DS.
I don't remember that but the preview of Gigant Battle seems to get good opinions, referencing it's similarities to Super Smash Bros, the fact only one cart is needed for multiplayer (which i didn't know before) and they liked that you got 3 specials with last one given a small anime video prior to the move.
It's an alright issue but i think the last one was better. Havn't read any of the reviews yet but it's boosted my decision to BUY DOA next week

Read the preview today. It was almost laughable. Although nice to see a preview that wasn't pretty much:

you really don't like ace do ya. i don't expect we'll see gigant battle 2 until they have enough in the timeskip half to go with. we definatley won't hear an announcement for it until the anime reaches this point in the manga if were lucky

I dunno really. There was enough content left out of Gigant Battle to warrant another pre-TS game. Just add:
Robin, Franky, Brook, Bon-Kurei, Smoker, Mr. 3, Lucci, Eneru, Marco, Hina, Arlong, Krieg, Kuro, Foxy and Shanks as playable characters. (I'm still waiting for a good enough excuse to why at least 5 of these arent in the game anyways.)
Levels for each arc instead of merging them.
Online (Again. JUS had it. Why not this?)
More varied supports.
Enough to make a new game there IMO. Would at least make up for this one which just felt rushed and incomplete to get it out during Marineford in anime and before TS in Manga.

I'm assuming Nintendo's involvement with JUS was the reason for online play. Doesn't that sort of thing cost money? Maybe Namco Bandai were just being cheap. One Piece is popular enough in Japan that little kids can probably just find someone with their own copy to play anyway.

that's true. It would be great if they did do another pre-time skip one but let you start at East blue and work your way up but even if they did i reckon they'll: add the 3 straw-hats but remove certain character like Ivankov who's like the only non major boss character. Then They'd add just the main boss from each arc so Smoker for east blue (rather than arlong), wapol for drum island, Crocodile for alabasta, Eneru for skypeia, Rob Lucci for eneis lobby, gekko Moriah for thriller bark and then the same as gigant battle for the other 4 islands. That would be it i think bit that's only 9 new characters in exchange for ivankov. They could add some smaller islands like long island but i think they'd make Aokiji the boss and for water 7 franky. Arlong they could add but he'd replace smoker (smoker still might be playable as ivankov was in it and so was jinbei and they wern't bosses) but that'd be it judgin from what they did with the first game.
They'd be way more supports though (really want's Johnny and Yosuka as his support) -

If i was a game dev, and retelling OP's story, i'd start in alabasta or sky island. although thats, if i was retelling it.

I'd make 2 games. The first one detailing east blue - skypeia and then the 2nd one would be CP9 - timeskip. I would only include characters relevant to each version.

Amazon.co.uk would probably be your best bet. That's where i got Unlimited cruise from but Game/Gamestation might get it. Gamestation had the naruto game and Game had the Bleach one although they are more popular over here.

Checked loads of online and stores and only 1 store actually has this available for preorder, strange considering out's out in 2 weeks. Hope it isn't going to be hard to get.

The instruction booklet is… pretty much crappy (text and text, not a single image) and for some reason they changed the music of the animated intro (the animation is there, but with that boring music of the first english trailer and not a single voice, even though the rest of the game has the japanese voices.

Yes, the game was released in Spain a week before the rest of Europe, even though it´s in english (the inly thing in spanish is the back cover and the manual)

i doubt it will be gigant 2 unless there gonna do an original story like unlimited cruise. If they did announce gigant 2 i imagine it would only be fishman island arc although i wish they'd make a game that goes through all arcs or at least make 2. One for east blue to end of skypeia and then one from cp9 to timeskip. Then they could have lots of detail in each one

FYI; Gigant Battle´s story is technically original. A lot of fights and events are based on things from the manga, but the story is something about a Pirate Grand Prix

The only release date you should trust is the one on Namco-Bandai´s site, and it´s 07/01.
BTW, I´ve reasd at some places that Pandaman´s support wasn´t in the european release. That is fake, I got it today. Still no clue about the maps. Oh, and the secret combos are in too (at least Luffy´s and Ace´s, I still don´t have Black and Whitebeard)

The guides on Gamefaqs all say that some of those "password" supports (Strong World supports, Raileigh) were just unlockables via password, not in the game.
About the combos:
As Luffy, hold down L + R and press Up, A, Up, Y, Up, X, Up, B
As Ace, hold down L + R and press Up, X, Up, B, Up, A, Up, Y
As Blackbeard, hold down L + R + Down and press A, X, Y, A, X, Y, A, X, B
As Whitebeard, hold down L + R + Down and press B, X, B, X, B, X, X, AWith 3 energy bars

I agree. Game's now changed their's to 1/11/2011 about 2 days ago. They always fuck about.
If it wasn't out of stock atm, I'd order it on Amazon for £25.

Game did that with Unlimited Cruise too. Then it was released and I think they got it in a week later or something. I think it's just that they think all Anime games are identical (Darkstorm even said that Game thought UC 3DS was out tomorrow too.)
