Merged threads problem

Like i got any answer i create a thread to discuss of it.

The thread about the favourites one piece arcs has been merged with mine about favourites One piece parties, or sagas.

Firstly, in my thread i made a presentation about the 6 parties and which arcs these parties contains. You can see that there is a misunderstanding.
Secondly, the old thread was made in 2008, and has no poll.
The thread that i made has a poll with the 6 parties while the guy is asking about arcs. Look at the second message, it say that the favourite arc is Shabondy while thats not on the poll. Thats because my poll is about parties/sagas
The thread that i made took me 1 hour to put all the pics, my opinion about Skypia and the presentation of the differents parties while the new thread contains 3 lines as first post.
Finally, i planned to edit my post many times to add the pics that the menbers post, what i already did 3 times.

Not my intention to make a drama about it… but i just can't accept that.
The threads arent the same, that wasn't necessary to merge them and i'm sure that anyone who would have read carefully the two threads would have been able to notice the differences.
I find this action really disrespectfull. At least, before to do it, you (even if I don't know who did it) could ask my opinion about it, regarding of the 'work' that i did in the thread. I have the feeling that i did that for nothing, and that my thread have been 'stolen'.

Some explanations are welcome, and if it's possible a cancellation of this merge.

They're extremely similar, despite what you think, and they both have minimal page counts. They're fine as the same thread.

Your poll carried over, and people get to your point in very short order if they read the thread at all, so whats the harm?

Edit: Time to let it go I think, in either case this thread isn't helping your case anymore when you've been told to PM moderators about it.

The point of my thread was to have a summarize of all the parts of the manga, then make a poll. The old thread is about arcs. It sound similar but thats different. Now the title of the thread is about arcs while i described them in each parts and ask to vote about what parts they prefer… yes thats confusing. But what i explain it's that Darx (author of the old thread) and me has a different idea of what we want in the thread.
In my post the fact that i described all the parts can help to make the vote, not all the menbers know perfectly what happened in each saga. Same for the pics, for example i put 4 pics that i loved from Skypiea and i'm pretty sure that some menbers forgot it and can think ( Oh yea, i remenber this... Skypiea was truly awesome lets vote it).

I don't see why this thread about a moderator action (merge) has to be in pm. I think that the moderator made a mistake about this merge so i make a thread to resolve it and to have many opinions. After all he also think that what i did in creating my thread is a mistake and he did'nt send to me a pm, it's public.

Its a forum. Hundreds of messages pass through it each day. Threads get merged and things go off topic and change, and people rarely start from the first post. Your stuff is still there. People are still reading it. Its not a big deal.

Who the fuck cares? It's not like your posts have been deleted, they've just been moved into a thread that's identical aside from "but he Put Shaboandy and I put da war arc". Everything's still there.

in short, this isn't your forum. if they wanna merge your thread cause they think it's better that way, then too bad. your lucky they kept it open. your lucky they're not dicks who decide to ban you for no reason. cause they can. it's their board.

the point of PMing to dispute a mistake is so that you don't waste space and time making lame threads to whine about it. As you can see this also makes you look lame to everyone else. opening this thread is not helping you. it would have been better to just PM the mod and state your case and maybe they will change their mind. who's to say a mod will even read this.

in conclusion, big deal, your not bleeding out your eyes. you did not loose a limb, so get over it and move on.

Thats not my forum indeed, but is it the case for the moderator who did the merge? I think not. And that was my thread, i can say my opinion about it since i put some time to make it, and thats what i did. It's not because someone is mod or admin that he can do what he wants with the threads.

In my opinion, the merge is a mistake and i have given enough clear explanations of it. The answers that i got are: Your thread is similar with the old one/ the thread is still active/ the moderators can do what they want . Answers which don't persuade me at all and i have the feel that they don't want assume a mistake.

It looks like a big deal, but if i got an answer like :"Indeed your thread is not the same that the old one, it deserve to still as a unique thread, unfortunately we can't cancel the merge. Sorry for the confusion."
An easy answer which would have shown that the moderators can assume their mistakes and listen their menbers, but thats not the case unfortunately.

I'm actually rather amused that even now, weeks later, the complaining of the "tyranny" of the "unfair mods" is still continuing in the "important announcement lets have fun there's going to be a tournament thingy" thread.

Seriously, the two threads had very similar themes and ideas to them, they merited merging due to the similarites, and its not as if your posts were deleted.

No, it didnt merited a merge. If i was mod, before to merge a thread i would ask myself if the thread can open interesting discussion, or different discussion than the other thread: in my thread, you could post the pics which represente for you the part that you prefer, also, i said it like 10 times but, my thread was about PARTS, not ARCS.

Don't worry, i did. I don't expect to have serious and interesting discussions about my favorite manga when i come in this forum. The quantity is here, but not the quality. But don't see that as a criticism, this forum is fun, and thats a good place to know the news about OP.
