@Cap'n:
SHONEN BAT isn't exactly bad-ass either
It's not supposed to, thank God. That's one of the things tha I like about Paranoia Agent. It didn't have a major focus on trying to look "badass".

Yeah I've only seen the dub too but I loved it. Especially the opening.
Anti-manly crusade
I think my favorite characters were probably Ikari and his wife, the scene with Ikari in the alternate dimension was pretty incredible.

I love psychological stuff, so I have to agree.

Should have called him Bat Boy.
hold me bat boy
touch me bat boy
I didn't understand the final episode. What was up with that old man at the end? And why did it look like Sukiko(SP?) was still in high school. If memory serves she was like working in some cubical office designing little bootleg Hello Kitty characters.
Just watched episode 5
Holy shit
I saw the one-off episode of the three suicide candidates (Happy family planning) once at my local cable pay-TV channel and it instantly became my favourite. The rest of the series was pretty glum and psychological, but enjoyed it too, nonetheless.
Their names are Zebra, Fuyubachi, and Kamome. And yeah, that episode was beyond great.
This show trips me out. Me and my buddy Steve watched it on G4. It was intense.
Yah, so I just finished this series, and I loved it! There is no Manga for it, it's 13 episodes long. They showed it on [adult swim] a while back. You have to watch it from episode one onward to truly understand it though. I didn't understand a lot of it until the last episode, then everything made sense.
Basically the series is about a seemingly elementary school kid who goes around on golden roller blades assaulting people with a golden bat. The residents of Tokyo quickly dub him "Shonen Bat" (lit. BAT BOY) Nearly every episode has its own cast of characters and a brand new story about how these characters lives are affected by Shonen Bat, however there are literally HUNDREDS of small and large hints and even direct references as to how some things are related, and then we learn that all the characters are really connected, and that these string of assaults by "Shonen Bat" are really not random. It is a great mystery/supernatural series that is definitely worth a look.
BE WARNED: Please don't take offense to this people, but this show REALLY isn't for those who cant grasp there mind around more complicated concepts such as symbolism. This series really fucks with your mind. This series is a psychological thriller, and is aimed towards an adult audience, or at least an audience that can understand it. (I'm only 13 xD) There are also a lot of unsuspected endings in the middle of a situation or predicament that doesn't seem to be solved, so don't watch this if you're not into opening Wikipedia at the end of every episode to find out WTF just happened.

EDIT: Why do people keep moving my threads into other threads? On all the forums I've been on before Arlong Park, there has been no rule about posting two threads with the same topic as long as the first thread wasn't official or floated, but here… everyone is so serious...
Would Shonen Bat come after any of you?
My brother and I love this show. The theme opening is one of the best anime openings I've ever seen/heard.

Err, because we don't need another topic, when there's a perfectly fine thread right here, which has been steadily active since 2005. What? Just because you created it, doesn't mean the discussion here is instantly negated.
If you had of taken the handful of seconds it takes to search 'Paranoia Agent', you could've saved yourself the trouble.
Based on his reaction, you should have just deleted it entirely
I 100% agree, dunno wtf his problem is. Guess he's use to being on spamful and unorganized forums. Then again, he IS 13. But he types pretty fucking good.
Buuhan1 never learns.
Yes, I want to learn why you like paying attention to me now.

This way things stay nice and clean. You know, organized. It's just makes this place much more user friendly, for old users and new users alike. And in long term without stuff like that this place would slowly become a mess. Web is full of forums which has no sanity left in them, so at least I would prefer if the web had couple places for serious people like me.
Now that we are on the subject, one thing I have always wished to be included to the rules is that a title of a thread needs to describe what's in it accurately. That way searching old threads would feel less like going through Kim Jong II's old underwears, and I wouldn't skip a thread which might have something interesting in it just because I think the title is crap.
Anyhow, you shouldn't feel offended though. It's not about you, you wrote a well put together reply. Think this as an opportunity. You get a chance to read what people has written about the subject. I never finished the series but my thoughts hasn't changed about Paranoia Agent since the last time I posted in this thread. I still think that way. As a matter of the fact, now I feel compelled to finnish it.

You mean such grand, thoughtful topics of yours such as ''Kuma….an AIR LOGIA?'' and ''Kuma.... on par with Aokiji?'' are now in one convenient, out-of-the way spot?
Boy, about time I start counting my blessings again.
Blessing number 1.
Competence.
I remember seeing this series during its run on Adult Swim. It had me genuinely freaked out. Loved how they left little clues that ended connecting everything somehow by the last episode.

But then we wouldn't have gems like this. I still laugh when I see the title and the first post.
