I lost my beautiful Mum last year six, weeks after we found out she had cancer.
She was one of those people who just shone out of their eyes and if she was in a group photo her huge smile would make her stand out a mile.
She was the best. Being Christians helps but there is a huge hole where she was.
I haven't cried yet. I think I'm scared that if I do I will break in half.
When I was 12 I lost my lovely Nan (my favourite Anime fan), who lived with us. I still miss her.
I lost a friend in one freak car crash and my cousin in another.
Another cousin was killed on a motor bike.
When Nan died I was adopted by her dog, an unusually scruffy apricot poodle called Amber. If anyone hit me she would bite them and if anyone but me tried to lift her off my bed when I was in it she would growl. The next year we moves somewhere I couldn't keep her and have to give her up…
I'm still looking out for her.
My brother and I played this song at Mum's funeral.. It's called Gold in them hills by Ron Sexsmith and Chris Martin (she grew up on these hills her father owned). It just seemed perfect.
I know it doesn't seem that way
but maybe it's the perfect day
even though the bills are piling
and maybe Lady Luck ain't smiling
But if we'd only open our eyes
we'd see the blessings in disguise
that all the rain clouds are fountains
though all our trouble seem like mountains
There's gold in them hills
There's gold in them hills
so don't loose heart
give the day a chance to start
Every now and then life says
"where you think you're going so fast"
we're apt to think it's cruel but sometimes
it's a case of cruel to be kind
and if we get up off out knees
why then we'd see the forest for the trees
and we'd see the new sun rising
over the hills in the horizon
There's gold in them hills
there's gold in them hills
so don't lose faith
give the world a chance to say
a word or two, my friend
there's no telling how the day might end
and we'll never know until we see that
there's gold in them hills
There's gold in them hills
so don't lose heart
give the day a chance to start
There's gold in them hills
there's gold in them hills
Hugs to all those who have loved and lost. :)
