I took a survey on Funimation's site about various simulcast releases and possible Blu-Ray/DVD releases for the corresponding series. One Piece was among this list. It's just speculation at this point, but do you think there's any meaning behind them asking the fans if they are interested in Blu-Ray releases for One Piece? Perhaps season 4 widescreen episodes are closer to us than we realize?

Hey guys, been listening to your podcast for a while now, but this is my first Piece Together question.
Folks from Canada, like myself, can watch the latest episodes legally at the Funimation site as soon as they release. However, usually a few days afterwards, they get disabled for Canadian residents. This means I can't watch older episodes on their website, and can only watch the newest episode if I watch it shortly within the air date.
I'm wondering if you can bring this to Funimation's attention, or if I'm the only one having this issue, is there something I can do to fix it?

It's not just you, I've talked to a lot of Canadian fans who are angry that they have to watch the latest One Piece episode within a certain period of time.
The reason they become disabled is because after a few days the latest episode starts streaming on a website called vizanime.com. vizanime.com's videos all play on the hulu player. So it has to be converted. And I heard hulu doesn't exist in Canada.

Going back all the way to what Chopper and Usopp said on Thriller Bark, do you guys think that this saga will be about the Straw Hats(other than Luffy) proving themselves to the world(and readers) that they are a powerful force even without Luffy? Do you guys think that maybe we wont be seeing Luffy's full power until the next saga because the other 8 Straw Hats will "take care" of the mess on Fishman Island?

Zoro vs HyozouConsidering that the crew was hardly shown in the last saga, maybe this one will re-introduce all the members and dive into what they learned/experienced during the time skip. We already know how powerful Luffy is and what he can do so it would make sense.

I would just like to ask a question about One Piece in general. For my I tend to pick a certain thing, for example Harry Potter or Naurto, and try to learn everything I can about it and do everything I can with. That involves reading everything, going on the wiki pages a lot, and going on forums like this. Usually I am able to know everything and do everything with the thing I am currently fascinated on. But with One Piece I feel like I haven't grasped everything that is involved with it. There seems to be a lot of things to know about One Piece and to do with One Piece that I have experienced or I have no knowledge of. How do you suggest I get more involved with One Piece, gain more knowledge on One Piece, and just plain get into the Whole series as a whole?

So here's two weird questions about Zoan Devil Fruits.
Since the World Government has the power to put Fruit powers into objects to bring them to life, and the World Government has the most Seastone/Kairouseki, do you think it is possible to combine the two? What would be the result?If someone were to put Zoan Fruit powers into individual pieces of armor, do you believe it possible that the armor's pieces could slot their half-beast forms together, like Voltron? What are the odds of One Piece getting Bluray releases from Funimation? Since, starting from the Foxy Pirates the show is in HD and lately Funimation is releasing a lot of shows in BD, like DBZK, FMA:B, Soul Eater (in May), and even older shows like Yu Yu Hakusho (in May).

Ever mention One Piece to someone only to be shocked at what you find out from them. Tonight, I was working at the gamestop in my town and we had to get a person from one of the other stores in the town over to come work that night. I was talking to the girl and we got to talking about anime, Naturally I mention One Piece and she goes goes, I only know of a few eps, one where I played Sengoku's Goat and one where I was Eneru's servant Girl. I was like WHAT! Yes when I got home I did look her up on ANN it was true.

I need your help you guys, would be wonderful if you would discuss it on the podcast (piece together). I am currently in an AP (College Level) English Literature Course (Don't worry One Piece is involved in this post). My teacher recently assigned us an essay but the topic is ours to decide. We just need to argue or explain a subject thoroughly (5-7 pages of text). Its very vague….and i was thinking about doing "Why the localization of the Japanese hit series One Piece failed" and discuss its influence in Japan as opposed to here. Now, for it to be valid, i need there to be an "intended audience", and references/sources (8-10). I would be ecstatic if you guys could help me with this. Maybe give me a few ideas to get this going and make it efficient :). Thanks

What do you guys think of One Piece recently being paired up with Toriko, with not one but two crossovers, a 3D double feature, and replacing DragonBall Kai to precede One Piece on FujiTV ? And do you think Toei and possibly Shueisha are pairing it up with One Piece just to make Toriko the next big thing?
And also, if you've seen the anime crossover, what did any of you think of that?

Without a doubt. Jump's Big Three won't be around forever, and probably not even very much longer, and they see the writing on the wall. It seems like Toriko, in their eyes, is the series best capable of reaching that level.

With the Luffy's flashback being next in the anime is there anything that you guys would like to see animated so they could expand on it?
Example: This would most likely be one that everyone felt the same; How did Mr. 3 infiltrate and disguise himself as an executioner during the war?
It's noting against the manga it's that sometimes that the anime has more time to expand on somethings and sometimes things are easier to make out in color then in black and white.

Hey guys, I was just thinking about the three admirals and was wondering who you think has taken the new fleet admirals place, if anyone? I know a lot of people want it too be coby but it is too early for his goal to come true. Is is one of the Justice inspired vice-admirals or someone lower (Smoker for example). I would expect someone with a logia power though, as a zoan would feel out of place next too the other two admirals.

After seeing the size different between the Queen and Princess Shirahoshi I was wondering if Shirahoshi is even the Queen's daughter? When you compare her to her three older brothers the difference is already staggering! Also I can't imagine the Queen producing an egg big enough for that baby (If fishmen lay eggs, and I assume so as she's a Goldfish and they only lay eggs)! Do you guys think we'll get an explanation of this, or do you think Shirahoshi's the new Whitebeard?!

So after reading the chapter I found that I liked it but at the same time the pacing seemed too slow and too fast at the same time, if that makes sense. It was too slow in the sense that we went even further back in time for the purpose of showing maybe one or two important things and those alone didn't qualify the need for an entire chapter; also we've now finished the chapter near the same cliffhanger for 3 weeks running. The pace was also too fast because, if Oda did decide to flesh out the formation of the pirate crew and the backstory of Arlong and Jimbei, he rushed things WAY too much. I realize that the flashback within a flashback was meant to show off the Queen but if it was doubling as Jimbeis and Arlongs back-stories it was too rushed in that respect. Fisher Tiger suddenly shows up and everyone just joins in all of one page, including guys we didn't see at all like Hachi and Marco? Also what turned Fisher Tiger into a pirate all of a sudden and again Oda skipped over the freeing of the slaves on the Red Line storyline even though this was about the third great opportunity he had to show it. I would have rather left things as they were in the last chapter without this seemingly pointless and rushed back-story. Hopefully Oda revisits these things but as it stands right now it seems like we just moved on which would be a shame.

I have two question:
Just something I noticed at the beginning of the opening (manga spoilers for anime watchers), do you think the shots of Roger to Shanks to Luffy was hinting the reveal of the passing of the strawhat through the generations?
Also, another question:
Because Smoker has always been portrayed as the more idealistic Marine and always seems to rebel and do he thinks is "real justice", do you think theres a chance Smoker may join the revolutionaries? Since he hates pirates (as shown in his flashback while watching Roger) he'd never become a pirate but he never said he was against what Dragon was doing. Personally, I think if Smoker really is in charge of the Sabadie Archipalago region he may then learn about all the crap the Marine have been doing secretely and it may cause him to rebel for real. I think he may actually join Dragon for revolution or he may fight the top of the Marine (whoever it is post time skip) Mustang (from FMA) style. What do you guys think?
By the way guys I love the podcast and after the 24 hour podcast my respect for you guys have skyrocketed! Keep up the great work!

This question is about the new OP as well, if the anime continues its pace of chapters (1 per week), we have about 12-13 episodes before the timeskip. I was wondering if we get a new series for Part 2 of One Piece, will we get a new opening? 14 episodes is way shorter than any One Piece opening. Or do you guys think we'll still have "Fight Together", but changed animation? Or do you think that perhaps we will have filler episodes to fill in the gaps?

A ton of people have been talking about this theory, that when Fishman Island is destoryed, the population will go to Water 7. Water 7 has a large amount of the city underground, Iceberg is (obviously) fine with Fishmen and Mermen living in the city, and Den could know how to get their since Tom lived their. Along with that Iceberg wants to make the island float like a boat, and I think it would be a lot easier with people to do some work from under the water.
Do you guys think this is some amazing foreshadowing from Oda, or that he has something else planned for the population of Fishman Island.

Hey guys, I was recalling something from a few weeks ago (perhaps when chapter… 620 came out? maybe before. I'm not really sure.) You guys were discussing the cover story arc, and Steve was, of course, excited that Johnny and Yosaku would be shown, but I believe it was Jason who pointed out that we're seeing places, not people, and everyone was then unsure if we would see them.
I thought about it and there are two possibilities that I came up with. The first, less likely one is that we see them at Baratie. It's a restaurant in the middle of the ocean, perhaps they stopped there for a bite. I feel it's unlikely though as we have Zeff, Patty and Carne to there. The second, more likely place I feel, is a place that the Strawhats have been, but no characters of any sort of note remain there. Of course I'm talking of Loguetown. It would make sense - there's a marine base there, so perhaps they're picking up a reward for a bounty, and as I already mentioned, no characters of note that we met there should be there. Smoker and Tashigi left to chase the Strawhats, Buggy and Alvida are on the Grandline (and have plenty of speculation), Dragon should play a major role in future events (well, all characters mentioned probably will) and was last seen at the Revolutionary's base.
