Universities are 1600 a year for EU students, and like double that for non-EU students.
Best university is probably the EUR in Rotterdam when it comes to Business Administration (top10 in Europe) or medical studies (best academic hospital in Europe), and very good and professional all-round.
Leiden is kind of one of the worst universities in the Netherlands, and it's known for the slacking off-attitude of the students. I have a part-time study there (criminology, I didn't have a location choice for that study) and I pass the exams without ever actually going there. My fulltime studies are in Rotterdam and they're much harder (and more rewarding of course).
