Since no one else is talking about this one, ill give my diagnosis.
First off, fans of the series will be rewarded by how true the game is to the main events of the storyline. Most of it is told through narrated text and a cutscene here and there. You can go through the story with Ken and others later on like Raoh, Rei, and Mamiya. So far each caracter controls very well and becomes stronger over time through spending the karma points you gain. Specials and moves and skills can be purchased between missions. You can also play alternate stories for each character in dream mode… as well as two player split screen (which rules). Very gory and for those who didn't play the demo, they upped the body slice and explosion animations.
Only downside for me is the roster being a little tiny despite the wealth of characters and bosses in the game itself.
Playable: Ken, Rei, Mamiya, Toki, Raoh, Jagi, Souther, Shin, Heart.
Non-playable: Shuu, Amiba, Yuda, Zeed, Fang king, Uighur, Fudo, Juuza, Ryuuga.Lemme know of I missed anyone.
It's unfortunate, but who knows? They might be DLC later... but I'm not holding my breath.
Regardless, for what it is.. the game is still simple, violent, Gorey fun for the fans. Wish I could see the outcome if the title had a larger budget. But I'm satisfied!

Played the game and I am going to get this game.

Is
BorgBolge in this? The guy Kenshiro beats at the end? -
Who? I have no idea who you're talking about.
checks
ooooooohhhhhh that guy.
No, as far as I can tell this game covers the first part of the manga, the better and more popular part. (up until Raoh's defeat).
HnK2 in not needed if yah ask me.
-
Bout how long is the game, Gekk? For one playthrough I mean, I realize additional characters and such will make it longer.

So if this game does well, it can get a sequel?
While I find part 2 not that great, if we can get more of these games I will be happy.

Hard to say. I've logged in some hours already and am getting close to the end. (about six so far in ken's story). But many of the characters get their own story mode. Plus dream modes for the rest are stories too.
I really have no idea, but there is much gameplay time for this one.
-
Do you know how the other charcarters play compared to Kenshiro and Rei? I'm mostly interested in how Jagi and Raoh are used.
-
It's like most DW games too, you can take your time clearing out every last guy in each stage, or you can rush straight through them to the boss, which will change the time of gameplay by a lot.
-
Sounds like a pretty long game with all things considered. This one will no doubt drop in value rather quickly, think I'll just buy it instead of renting.
-

It's not the most polished game out there, nor did it have a really high budget like other big releases. But I feel for what it is, it's quite fun and if you're a fan of DW or HnK then you should check it out.
As for the way the characters control, it's fairly obvious: Rei is really quick and can lead into quite damaging air combos. This is also true for about the rest of the Nanto warriors. Souther is slower, but has more area control with his jumping stomp and instead of a dash maneuver, he does an aura burst that can knock people back or even inflict a nanto type kill on guys. He also has impressive air combos as well. Shin is slower than Rei but faster than Souther. He has more of a forward attacking focus and tends to kill in a straight line. He has a move that strikes an enemy (or group) and makes them glow yellow. At anytime after this status effect, shin can use R1 to snap his finger and make anyone who is glowing explode with damage. Jagi is a lot like Mamiya and fights predominantly with guns. He has a couple hokuto moves, but those are mainly used for instant death. His jumping triangle attack is good for crowd control. He's a bit rough around the edges and takes a bit of getting used to. haven't unlocked toki or raoh yet, but I assume they rule.

After playing it like 8 times, I'm hooked on the demo, but I deleted it so as not to cause anymore harm to myself. A man can only play a demo so many times.
I gotta read this manga already, damn. I've wanted to for a long time, but most I've seen is an anime episode here or there back earlier in the 2000's when it aired on Encore. Last time I checked, the scanlations weren't very far in the series despite how old it is?
-
Mangafox has the whole series scanlated.
-
Much love, my man.
-
Kinda of annoyed that this game and Blood Stone came out the same day and on top of that Black Ops and Brotherhood come out in the next two weeks.
-
In case no one got to see it because of all the other E3 footage
And in case people think they're be bull-shitted because of the photoshopped-esquese logo.

Well, I'm cool with that as long as they expand a bit on it, rather then just jumping to the time skip.
