I couldn't find any thread for poems on this forum, and I didn't know where to post, so I posted it here.
Here's a poem I did recently for English Literature - It's so good that i thought that I should put it here.
The subject was on Fairy Tales and this is a parody of The Three Little Pigs.
! The Three Little Pigs
! Once upon a time
In the beautiful countryside,
Mother Pig gather'd her little babies
And she told them, with a frown,
'Father Pig has glutton'd, and glutton'd,
And lo! There is not enough space for us five,
So I advise thee; get out
And get your own lives!'
Harrumphing and moaning and sulking,
The three siblings got out;
Not forgetting all their possessions.
And they trudg'd in a chosen direction.
! Soon they came across a man,
A man who was carrying a wheelbarrowful of straw.
Feeling very wise, the First Pig
Offered to purchase his hay.
Eagerly accepting the offer, the man
Strode off with a pocketful of magic beans.
! The two other Pigs sigh'd and moved on.
! After a League scal'd, they came across another man,
Who was dragging a pile of sticks.
Feeling even wiser, the Second Pig
Offered to buy his wood.
Accepting the offer the man,
Swagger'd off with a coin of Gold.
! The Third and Last Pig sigh'd and moved on.
! Staggering still in the chosen direction.
He came across a man bent double;
Struggling to keep his bricks above ground.
'A!' The Pig said, 'I would like to take
Off your load, my good friend!'
He got a discount and the man
Straightened his back and
Strode off towards the Sunset with only
A silver of Silver weighing him down.
! All is well, until a shadowy figure,
Slither'd out of the woods
A! It is none other than
The infamous Big Bad Wolf!
! Sniffing the scent of
The fresh ingredients for
Ol’ MacDonald's famed hamburger,
He set pursuit.
! And, Lo! A house made of straw!
He knocked on the door.
'Who is it? Who knocks on my door
At breakfast?' Came the inquiry.
! 'It is none other than I,
The Big Friendly Wolf,'
Said the Wolf, 'Wilt thou let me in?
The cold stings me so.'
'Not by the hair
On my chinny-chin-chin!' Said the surly Pig.
'Then I shalt do no other task
Than to blow your house down!' Said the wolf.
! And He huffed and he puffed and he gasped and he huffed and he puffed
And he blew the house down!
Right when the Pig was adding milk to his Cornflakes!
The Big Lying Wolf gobbl'd up the little Pig.
And he didn't even finish the Cornflakes!
! When the sun lumber'd its way to the top of the sky,
The Big Hungry Wolf thought and he thought and he thought,
And he thunk that he would be better off looking for Lunch.
With task in mind, he trampled on,
Along the trail.
! And, Lo! A Wooden shack!
He knocked on the door
'Who may it be? Who might knock on my door
At lunch?' Asked the Second Pig.
! 'It is none other than I,
The Big Kind Wolf,'
Said the Wolf, 'Wilt thou let me in?
The Sun burns me so.'
'Not by the hair
On my chinny-chin-chin!' Said the boorish Pig.
Then I shalt do no other task
Than to blow your house down!' Said the wolf.
! And He huffed and he puffed and he gasped and he huffed and he puffed
And he blew, but the sticks stood their ground,
And so He huffed and he puffed and he gasped and he huffed and he puffed
And he blew the house away!
Right when the Pig was adding gravy to his roasted potatoes!
The Big Sly Wolf gobbled the Pig down.
And he didn't even bat an eyelid at the potatoes!
! When it was approaching dusk,
And the bats were awakening,
The Big Greedy Wolf thought and he thought and he thought,
And he thunk that it would be wise to look for dinner,
And so he wander'd towards the third and final scent,
! And when he got there, Lo, there was the pig,
Undertaking construction on his house!
He chased the third Pig all around the acre,
And when he finally caught him;
He gobbled his dinner right up!
