OK, to clear this up right from start. I do not ask what language You prefer to read Your (hopefully ) favourite Manga. It is really a question about the exact procedure.
I for example (whenever there is a new chapter) throw in “Karakuri Defense System, Deploy!” and “Karakuri Castle, Transform” into my VLC, set them on repeat and read through the current chapter. Somehow this heightens my reading pleasure. Especially during the current arc, where this music often really fits (and will hopefully be used in the Anime when they reach these parts!).
So, how about You?
HOW do You read One Piece?

Lately, I wait until several chapters are available at once to read them. That way I get more story cohesion, without having to wait a week to see what's happening. (by which time, I may have already forgotten details from the prior week. Getting older….) As for music choices, I go with a mix of Queen, Quiet Riot, Styx, Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest, Beethoven, Holst, and Grieg while reading.

I also considered waiting a few weeks and then read more than one chapter. Maybe I should I really do this, since I just recently started reading the chapters. The Anime was just so full of implications of what would/could happen next that I just could not wait any longer and had to find out, what was going to happen next. That was a great session, it took me a few hours and I could not stop until it was late at night and I was as “up-to-date” as possible. This is just some weeks ago. And now every chapter feels so short… lol I think I will assimilate Your technique.
BTW, great music choices. Good to know that other readers like to listen to music as well, while reading One Piece. -
I read it weekly. In a lighting condition adequate for viewing on my laptop.
-
I read it on my computer at first, though I don't listen to any music while doing it. Then I buy the volume and (at least formally) read it with Stephen's translations. They'll be excellent practice material when I take Japanese though  .

Would explain your poor understanding of the manga try engaging your brain every now and then, would do you a world of good.

I'm sorry that I can't telepathically read the manga.
I'm working on it.
-
Perfect silence and on OneManga.
-
Upside down. I like to see if I can finish, comprehend, and form spectations and crappy fanfictions of the chapter before all the blood rushes to my head.
! Not really.
-
I read it online. I used to do it on onemanga but lately I've been reading it on mangashare. I also do not listen to music while I'm reading it.
-
With a DON~!!!!!
-
Used to read it in Onemanga whenever it popped up. Now their bandwith is all screwy and it takes forfuckingever to load a single page, so I switched over to Mangashare.
I usually cram everything with voracious appetite, and when my curiosity is saited, I slowly read it again to see if I missed anything, take in the artwork and try and spot Pandaman.
-
Read it online. Mangashare, Onemanga, whatever.
-
Download the newest chapter from either FrankyHouse or Binktopia, turn the musik down, get me a chocolate witk milk and cookies, read it once, read it twice, be happy^^
-
Not drinking anything, that's for sure.

y, gotta be careful with that. Its the best to drink when you finished a site and wait till you open the next one
-
awesome thread
so much untapped potential -
I download it either from Binktopia or Franky-House when it comes out then I read it with CDisplay. No music, I find that distracting.
-
for a long time i would read the chapter week-by-week while listening to 'declaration of war' by hadouken!
it synced up with the themes and franticness of the current arc pretty perfectly.
-
i read the latest stuff online, usually on onemanga. and im trying to collect all the viz volumes, but im behind. i also read it in the monthly english jump magazine.
as for music, its either fairly silent, or a collection of anime opening and ending themes in random order

In women's underwear.
Pics or it didn't happen.

I read it off which ever site has it first, preferably mangashare. On top of that, I read it off my 19inch LCD flat screen monitor with Linkin Park blasting in the background (really…it's hella loud). Also the LP music adds to the drama going on.
-
-
I read it wherever it comes out first. If FH or Bink or whoever has a scan out I'll just download it and read it in Windows Picture & Fax Viewer. But if it's already on Onemanga when I check I'll just read it there.
I usually already know the basic plot because I'm too weak to resist spoilers. Even so I'll read it more than once, especially if there are multiple translations, just to get a slightly different perspective I guess.
-
I read it online in quiet. Sometimes when friends and I get together we'll all read it at once.

LP makes me think of

Nice to see that others also have their ritualistic approach for consuming their dose of One Piece. And some also listen to music! Nietzsche would be proud of You.
I shall ask my professor when my next academic term begins if he knows of any useful articles concerning the preference of reader-dependent surroundings during literary reception. Interesting since serialization of fictitious works is nothing new but maybe our receptive preferences have changed, or maybe not.I read it online in quiet. Sometimes when friends and I get together we'll all read it at once.
Collective reading, very interesting. Just out of curiosity, does it usually go smoothly? I mean with differing reading speeds and so forth.

We say when we have all finished a page. It's almost like watching an episode, if any of us miss something we just go back and re-look it over. It's also nice to be able to chat with them in person about the chapter right after wards.

During Thriller Bark I read the chapters listening to "We Only Come Out At Night" of the Smashing Pumpkins.
-
Sounds great and the benefit of discussing it right away is almost priceless. It also seems to me that this way to read the manga requires an even higher aptitude of social interaction. (I know of some people who would not have the patience to wait for other possibly slower readers.)
That's the One Piece-spirit, everyone according to his abilities and preferences.BTW I have not heard of "We Only Come Out At Night" before, but after checking out Youtube I must admit that the lyrics really fit Thriller Bark!
-
I read it online (usually at onemanga, it seems to load fine for me) and instead of starting with the new chapter, I reread last week's so I'm all up to date and in context, and then go through the new one once quickly and once slowly.
the smashing pumpkins seem to do a lot of good soundtrack songs.

On the first days of the week I check apforums for like 10 times a day in order to see if the spoiler is out. Then I wait for a day more to see the low quality cam pictures of the spoilers.. After that I impatiently wait for the raw release which usually comes out on Thursdays and look at the pictures but I can't understand what is written since I don't know the language.. Finally on Fridays I read it on onemanga.. so I can pretty much enjoy onepiece more than 1 time throughout the week. In the spoiler section it is really fun to read other people's predictions while waiting for the manga..

LMAO same here. Except I download Binktopia's release instead of reading on onemanga.
-
At monday I keep refhresing ap for spoilers. When I see the thread title, I read the previous chapter before looking in the thread, and then I look.
When they chapter is out I download it, get some good music on, (I'm willing to bet I get better sound then you:P), and turn my laptop screen 90 degress first though software, and then just turn the computer. Then full light in the screen.

You have no idea how many great memories resurfaced when I read the name of this band in Your post!

To be honest one of the reason (if not THE main reason) for not registering here was the lack of the ability to visit the spoilers-subforum. I hope I will never set a foot in there… If You ever see my ass inside there, by all means, please kick me back into the spoiler-free vicinity.

I read One-Piece every fated Thursday morning. I jump out of bed(usually around 11am) leap to the computer chair, go to Onemanga, and read Jimbei's speed scan. Or the better version if it has already been made available. Or I'll just pull an all night and read it whenever I see it on OM. As for music, I usually turn it off when I read OP, because it's THAT EPIC.

I'd want to go help luffy in his war if I listened to this while reading..
-
How do I read it? I wait for it to appear on one manga. I used to download raws but I stopped because I filled up a hard drive with OP and two other mangas.
I've got the wikia open in one browser tab and the manga in another and I'm checking everyone else (I'm the last one on the wikia to get round to reading it every week it would seem ^_^') already put the right stuff on.

When the chapter is on One Manga and no-one is home I get on the site, take a plate of something tasty and turn on the right music for the chapter's mood. From Impel Down I use Golden Sun soundtracks(they are awesome).Usually I would start reading from around 3-4 earlier chapters, getting into current events and stretching the tasty secret of a new chapter for a little longer. With the current events I start reading from AoKiji freezing the seawaves spread.Sometimes in the heat of a battle and adrenalyn I start playing out voices of the characters-so I'm getting out all the pleasure from that grandeur and cosmic manga! Almost always the end of the chapter results with my arms shaking and heart hurting
.
Thank you people, who let me read that delightfull dainty
