So this is where I would like some help, I can't seem to be able to find any full body pics of her. I need to know exactly what she is wearing and the color of said clothing.
I will come around to show updates and I might need help with other things later on, but for now, can someone please help me in my image search?
I'd say check out cosplay.com and look up Bonney cosplayers, there should be lots of decent/great ones! Also you could back track and take a look at the manga, or the anime. I'm pretty sure they've got good ref for her too!! My friend Kyra cosplayed Bonney and did a GREAT job at it, I'm sure if you look on cosplay.com you'll find her pictures!!
Have you watched the episode in which she was introduced? Aren't there a full budy shot in that one?
Also, for the shape and size of her clothing I'd stick to the manga, cause the anime is a bit more inconsistant. But that's just my opinion.
Even though I already looked at cosplay.com I rather not look at cosplayers but the original images, and interpret from there XD.
I don't have the episodes, but I suppose I could go through the manga. Still, if someone could get the anime colors for me, that would be excellent :3

As for the stockings…as a man It's not my forte. My suggestion would not to make them if you want that leg-cling quality. I'd say shop around for ornate hosiery. There are hundreds of patterns out there. You'll find something eventually n.n' check ebay, amazon, even private stores.
The frills and boot covers can be made separately with a band of elastic sewed in a loop to pinch around the ends. If you want more specifics let me know. I had to do the same thing with my Kid cosplay this past summer.

I was thinking now of buying plain white stockings and painting them myself.
Do you have any ideas for the shorts she wears? I actually want this costume to be as similar as possible to the manga version. But I'm not sure how I should go about doing the stripes. Painting everything over white too or sewing ribbon of the appropriate color all across them? or something else?
My friend Kyra got a pair of pants I believe, altered them into the 'ass' shorts, and painted the brown stripes on there. I think that would be a fine idea in my opinion!

Lets see, I would start with brown and go orange..but..if you do that it might take eons to get the orange to look right..might want to start out with orange and paint brown. it sounds like a much less hassle..maybe..don't quote me, I've never done it xD
I would do orange over brown, definitely. When it comes to paint, dark over light works out better.
As for the leggings, perhaps put them on someone and draw the designs on them, and then paint them. Might take a while, but I think that's the best way to get the results you'd want. There's felt tip pens used for fabric and of course fabric paint.

I think I have all my materials now, started making the hat this weekend but I don't like how it turned out so I'll be making that again.
The shorts I'm painting brown over orange. I got white ones so painting them should not be too hard.
The jacket is being troublesome D:, I still can't find one that looks right and nobody sells that kind of plush in my area so I can't just make one >: . Looking into second hand stores now XD.
Wig is on the mail and I'll go look into purple lenses later this afternoon :3

At this point I'm not even sure I can get that jacket done, if worse comes to worse. I'll just have to wait until march to get this together properly… or use some crappy, hand-sewn jacket :ninja:.

Well, didn't finish in time for this con, so am moving it to march XD. However, I now have some hat progress pics, any ideas on how I can make it better are welcomed D:. I think maybe the cloth I used to cover the base is not the right one, but I'm having trouble finding fabric of the right color :P.
Uhm, we could say this is hat 1.0 XD. Didn't get farther than this. There were too many wrinkles so it got discarded
And this is hat 2.0 :P. Much better, but could still use some work (I might need a sewing machine XD).
