@UsoppSpell:
You're changing the rules though. The force of the pillow is the same as the one in the bat, but the one from the bat gets transferred completely, because the collision is not inelastic, like the one from the pillow would be, due to it's fluffyness.
exactly, that is what i'm saying. you can't just predict anything based on force. Two different objects may have same force, but there are a bunch of other factors to take into account.
as you just said, fluffyness (a crude term for physics, but easy enough to understand) Due to the fluffyness of the object the force will be spread out due to time, also pillow will hit more surface area than a bat would. and other factors as well, but you get the idea.
i'm not sure what the discussion came up about. guessing possibly due to gear 3 punch. and how it would weigh same and probbaly be going slower + affecting a larger surface area. So you would think it would do less damage. But this is a cartoon you guys are forgetting. Leave out physics and shit
@Verilance:
I never said they would feel the same i said both would hurt you!
you were talking about a train and a some ginormous pillow
the baseball bat vs pillow argument is different as was stated above
there the same, just scaled down toreasonable levels. And its impossible to tell how a train massed pillow would feel. Well not impossible, it would just take a bunch of math. Needing to figure out a bunch of crap. First figure how many feather (or whatever the pillow is made of) will take to have same mass as a train (how big a train, does it have all the cars behind or just the front thing), then taking into account the feathers will due to gravity weigh down and be more dense at the bottom of the pillow. and a million other factors (not literally a million just saying)
Its just easier to scale it down to something that is reasonable. Whether a train massed pillow will hurt or now it irrelevant. It will do less damage. who cares if damage is lethal or not, that is pointless. I'm not gonna argue if it is lethal or not, just gonna argue facts that it will inflict less damage than a train would
