Same here.. in the real world the boss probably isn't stronger than his subordinates, but in one piece they very often are. (apparently leadership skills come with strength..)

Since there isn't much known about Sengoku yet there is no way to confirme if indeed he is stronger
I agree here. So far Aokiji, Whitebeard and Mihawk have been labeled as the strongest marine, pirate and swordsman. So I´ll go with what Oda gave us.
This is somewhat off topic, but some of those WG members seem like they could put up a really good fight, especially that guy holding a sword.

Has much been said about the World Government? For a while I didn't even realized they were really different from the Marines.
It has been said that the kings of the OP wolrds countries such have a seat in the World Government. On top of that are the Gorousei who are labeled as the highest authority in the World Government.
Of course WG and Marine are different. Just as in real life there´s the difference between government and military. In most cases the government is superior to the military except for the country´s where military actually is the government (but that´s a completely different discussion).
In the One Piece world it appears that the marine is what you can call the World Government´s military.
i bet aokiji is the strongest devilfruit user, not the strongest period… (cuz he can just freeze you and smash you), if he didnt have a devil fruit luffy would have beat the shit out of him cuz when they fought cuz luffy was tossing him around pretty easy except for the freezing stuff.....
sengoku looks like he a straight up tough guy without a devil fruit (like cp9 kind of but stronger)
and i bet those old guys in the world government used to be strong, and i also bet they used to be a pirate crew cuz they look very shady, maybe one of them was the pirate king before gold roger who knows
i also have a feeling luffys grandpa is one of those old guys

Nico Robin destroyed 6 marine ships by acident, but she had to be near the marine ships to destroy them so maybe the marines are connected to the tragedy past of Nico Robin
And why did Tom fear her so much maybe because he was a friend of the Ohara Devils and since she was a survivor he didn't trust her

This is why Dragon doesn't like them
They might be the strongest but there's no prove except the fact that they rule the One Piece World
That a good theory about Luffy grandfather being a Gorousei that would be a reason for him to freak out (but them again why would Ao Kiji chase one of the Gorousei)

I think Nico Robin's parents taught her the language or Gol D Roger had a corny sidestory on his adventures where he met Nico Robin and taught her the language. They are probably not related though. Or even met.
But. She knew about the will of D. So my idea would fit in if it was true, but it won't happen. It won't.
Nico Robin's bad fate… mmmm... We have no clue. Maybe the world destruction thing is just a part of a larger ammount of bad stuff that woman is associated with. I hope she joins back with em though ;__; I'm worried
I haven't comed every inch of the thread, so I don't know if anyone mentioned or considered this.
Perhaps the name of D. is only given to males of the Gol D. Roger line. And speaking of lines, Robin mentions she is from a long line of Archaeologists. Couldn't it be possible for Robin to be Roger's granddaughter and know about it? Perhaps her mother was Roger's daughter, who fell in love with both archaeology and an archaeologist. Or perhaps Roger fell in love with an archaeologist and they had a kid. Being the king of pirates, I wouldn't be surprised if Roger sewed himself some wild oats. In that case, it is highly possible that Robin and Luffy could be cousins.
Or… perhaps Robin, Luffy and Ace all came from the same father. One who started a family in Robin's island home, then after some time, left to the East Blue to deal with something or someone, ended up on Luffy's home island somehow, and had a family there. Since it doesn't really mentuion anyone's parentage save for Nami, Usopp, and Chopper (kinda), it's hard to really tell.
Knowing Oda, anything is possible. The older sister thing seems the most feasible to me, though cousin seems to work just fine ^^
