Sometimes, if you drive (or walk) around your neighborhood, you can find amazing things that people threw out for no good reason.
For example: Today I found a 55 inch hitachi hdtv with built in speakers, because apparently the owner couldn't be bothered to read the manual and properly adjust the convergence.
Have any of you guys found cool stuff that people just threw out?
Stuff you found in the trash.

Are you shitting me.
Once I found box full of chocolate santa clauses.

I found a USB drive in front of an Office Max on Saturday. I took it home and discovered the latest picture had been uploaded in 2008, meaning that USB had been sitting outside the Office Max for nearly two years and nobody had noticed/bothered to take it up.
Not exactly trash but…:ninja:

I found a ninja star once

I found five grand in £50's three years ago. The only problem with finding money like that is usually because the person it came from is most likely a shady character. Hence when I found it I ran…...ran......and ran, till I couldn't run any more. Also the people at the bank give you an awfully suspicious look when changing any small quantity of 50's, so I went to several.
@Roboblue
Finding a 55inch hdtv is unreal, nice find. -
Holy crap. Do you guys live next to Donald Trump or something?
Anyways, not much here. I don't bother to look, anyways. The stench is too sickening, I can't even get close to it. It's mostly unimportant stuff like leftovers.
The hobos are probably taking the good stuff.

Dinner. For the last three years.
-
when I was a kid someone threw out legos in our dumpsters. So my friend and I cleaned them off, and kept them for ourselves.
Can never have too many legos!
-
Oh yeah, I remembered something. Back in first grade, some kid threw all his Yu-Gi-Oh cards in the trash and all of us came running to get them. Haha. Most of the kids returned them to him after that, because he wanted them back and even got the teacher. I didn't.
-
i only hope i find food like everyday in the trash…
yeah i have to  -
You found a 55 inch hdtv in the trash.. jesus..
I found a 22 inch regular old 1989 COLOR TV in the trash once with a broken antenna, I fixed it and it worked perfectly, It served me well through college.
But.. wow, you should play the lottery or something.
-
Pics or it didn't happen. That's too good to throw away(the TV).
-
Ho shi- XD Where the heck do you guys live?! A 55 inch hdtv…God!
Hmmm...I once found a silver ring...when swimming. Not really in the trash but... :ninja: And I recently found a Swatch watch (lolz) behind the bus station outside of my university in a pile of leaves and trash... but it's for lil' girls and I am a big girl  So it'll prolly go to my sister...Lucky brat :ninja:Aww  Poor Shmeckie!

The TV I found looked like this: http://www.thetelemediagroup.com/images/monitors/pg2/7_KV-2094R.jpg and the year was 2005 so I think it's reasonable to throw it out, especially since it wasn't getting a signal.
His TV is this: http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/productImages/0/1/00000114301-Hitachi55HDX6255inchUltraVisionplasmaHDTV-large.jpeg
And it's possible his neighbors were moving in, and he just stole it before the movers put it into the house :ninja: -
Omg rofl XD That would be priceless!
…Well, at least for us :'D Not his neighbors!
-
I got 2 42" plasma TV's from the trash about 4 years ago now, i gave one to my grandma and kept the other for myself.
We were clearing out an Orange shop just outside of London (I used to do a bit of shop fitting on the side) and the manager told us to throw them out and that we were absolutely NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE THEM…..so we went back after he'd gone home and took them from the skip... -
I found a hobo once. I had him as a pet till he ran away.

Are you fucking me ?
Seriously? Dude that's awesome !I guess on a Luck Scale you must be like 11 out of 10, Smudge, lol

The best thing I found in rubbish would be a Mario Kart DS.
Meh, I gave it to my lil bro.

A six arms table for screen-printing (I dont know its name in english), it was like a divine encounter, because screen-printing is my job. First it was in terrible conditions, now look like this:

Oh that reminds me
I was forced to go with my mom into this cookware store, and while I was moping around I found about 70 pokemon cards (including holos) in a stack by some frying pans. I had to turn it in but I got to keep them since nobody came back for them
-
I don't dig around in garbage.
As soon as I'm laid off, I'll tell you about my riches though.

My tv actually looks like this: -
Can't say I've ever found anything good in the trash but my dad's been pretty lucky with free stuff. The first time we ordered a TV and when it came it had a crack in one of the corners so my dad called them to replace it. They came and dropped off another one but didn't take the other away
. My dad called them a few times telling them to come pick it up but they never did so we got 2 40' (or so) plasma TVs for the price of one
.
The second time my dad got a grill (pretty good grill too) from Home Depot. They asked if he wanted them to assemble it and he said no and took it home. Some time later (I don't remember exactly) they called him and said that his grill was ready so he went and picked it up
. So again, two for the price of one.

I live in one of the richest cities in canada. you won't believe some of the perfectly fine stuff people throw out, cause they're redecorating. In the spring, the city gets to dump anything and everything in front of their house, and everyone in the city drives around all week looking for good finds.
also, if you go hunting around the garbage bins at apartments, there is always good stuff there. specially if you live near a college or university. the kids are always throwing their furniture out at school end, cause it's easier than transporting it home.
actually, this saterday, I was walking by the local college, and they had a bunch of old furniture for the taking. I got a nice prep table. all I gotta do is sand it down, and re-paint it.
-
I think the best I ever did was a perfectly working 486/66 desktop.
-
Generally I don't scrounge around in dumpsters and trash bins. Any time I see a kiddie car or simiar model set to be dumped though, I can't resist ripping out the motors and gearboxes. I have about eight pairs of those in my garage right now.
-
A word of caution for anyone trying to move a 52 inch tv with entertainment system up a flight of stairs: hire someone to do it for you.
I just got it into my apartment by myself, but it almost fell on me twice. >.>
