I liked the somewhat hidden reference to eating Chopper when Luffy mentioned eating the Sphinx, and… I believe it was Buggy said, who would eat an animal that can speak. :D

there should have been at-least some music at end where bon-chan was singing.
-
Awesome episode.
Nice animation and the Garp/Sengoku conversation was hilarious.
And finally we see Bon-chan, I can't stop thinking on that song … Okama waaaay~ -
I was just listening to that song, too xD
I loved Garp and Sengoku's scene. And Mr. 3's expression pretty much made my night.
And the fact that Luffy was just eating in front of the poor prisoners on the starvation hell….wait, how did a bird get into the third level of ID in the first place?

Someone said it flew down from the floor(s) above. Maybe through the doors as the guards were opening them and then through the giant hole in the floor.
On a different note, what was with the mention of the Sun on the 3rd floor and underwater? Or did I just watch a badly translated version? O.o
Edit: Rofl, the first bold, I didn't even think of that, how rude. =]

Well, there you have it

I thought the prisoners doing those exhausted back vocals was pretty funny.
-
wow garp and sengoku part had so bad animation… Mr2 design failed, filler does not make sense, lack of music, flashs back wasnt needed..........................

Is the title really "Okama way"?
Didn't know that song lol -
haahaha garp is just like a child a.k.a luffy :D and i love that

Oh come my way?.. Funi translated it "the queer way" lol

Also can the guy who does Sengoku's voice really be considered to be a voice actor? Because he totally sucks at fitting the right tone to match what he's actually saying.
Glad someone else thinks the same :ninja:
-
whos that guy sitting beside garp? he looks like akainu but the clothes doesnt fit.. it sure isnt him… some random unnamed high ranking officer? or anyone else that i dont know?

I don't know his name, but I'm pretty sure he's always been following Garp around. So I guess he's his partner, apprentice or something like that.
-
Did you notice that he was sitting next to Garp and at some point he moved almost all the way to the other end of the couch. xD

You mean Bogart? I doubt it's him because he's not wearing a cap but a hat instead.

Good job Toei at fucking up again with filler inconsistency. At first the place where Luffy and company lands is clearly far away from buildings (which even gets addressed by pointing out that the finally found buildings) and then in the scene where they are captured (which is supposed to be the place where they landed) is right in front of the cells. WTF?

Banned and back already

Looks like Bon Clay is not a swan anymore in the anime. =D
-

i can understand him "i dont want to be involved in a fight for biscuits so i will move to the other side of the couch"

Has Sengoku voice actor changed from when we first saw him?
-
Anyone noticed the alabasta reference when they wardering around the desert?Even the music was the same.
-
@kuma:

Nope. It was always like that.

No. Still the same old shit, unforntunately!
-
I like the introduction of Saldeath, as well as Mr. 3's reaction at recognizing Mr. 2. Garp and Sengoku's exchanges were great as was Mr. 2's goofy song at the end!
Can't wait to see Sadi-chan and Inazuma soon!!!

The thought behind a discussion forum is to share your thoughts (positive OR negative) on a subject as long as they are constructive. Since I clearly adressed what I consider to have been handled poorly by Toei instead of mindlessly bashing it I see no reason as to why I should stop contributing my thoughts on the subject. I suggest you should learn to accept that.

Hahaha~! Garp killed me in this episode! But Sengoku has committed one of the biggest crimes ever. How does he dare steal Garp's cookies away?! For shame! Cookies are sacred! D:< Off with his head!
I love Saldeath's voice. It's rather fitting! ^^ Makes me wanna pinch his cheek though!
Bon-chan!
-
I loved Garp/Sengoku's scene, that was brilliant XD Though yeah, for some reason it didn't seem like the animation was as good as other parts of the episode, and Sengoku's voice was meh =/
I love Saldeath's voice XDDDD That was pulled off well.
-
I totally forgot about the episode! D:
Since TT is down i guess not seeing "one piece" in most recently searched part made it slip out of my mind >< Downloading now. I'll comment afterwards, i'm looking forward to Garp's scene.
I dunno, I've actually heard Misa Watanabe play a character who was pretty slutty in the Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni series. She dies horribly too. In several different ways.
Yes but her character has a very minor role, we only see her a few episodes (2-3 eps? sorry, it's been over a year) so we don't witness her death several times ^^;; Which is actually a small amount in Higurashi & Umineko like stories <.< But i still love them o-O

Banhammer incoming!
-
I saw that Saldeath had Zoro's VA and was REALLY skeptical as he always seems to sound the same. But he pinched his nose or they messed with his voice or something and it worked out really well.
Aside from the "oops" w/ the cells distance to the sphinx, I liked the expanded lvl 3. The bit w/ the bones being the sand was pretty morbid for One Piece but so fitting for ID. I don't remember that in the manga. The sun comment I think had to do w/ usual association of the sun to heat and notice that after that Mr. 3 said there is no escape and he later explained the heat came from below.
The return of Mr. 2 was awesome as was Sengoku stealing Garp's cookies :) -
well decent episode. now curious as next week is he lady guard in charge of beasts turn. I wonder how loyal they will be to her outfit. It seems like in bleach they decided that you can show insane cleavage, yet no underboob. so wondering if we have her underboob outfit, or we have it be like a full swimsuit top

who? Saldeath? you want to see her cleavage and underboob? or someone else?
-
who? Saldeath? you want to see her cleavage and underboob? or someone else?
Pretty sure Hinscher means Sadi-chan.
-
yea sadi-chan. ha funny how such a minor character she became that forgot even her name. but yea just was curious in wether they were going to go the bleach route and basically censor her outfit or not. Which i find funny, because it seems like japan thinks you can show insane cleavage, even a whole boob as long as nipple hidden by convenient smoke or whatever, but you can't have someone wearing an outfit that shows underboob
-
well if youre talking about bleach isnt the female espada has underboob?
at first i thought ur talking about saldeath and i was like thinking "what??? about saldeath, cleavage and underboob???" LOL
-
Her boobs were fully covered in the animation, they did the same to Nell.
But like in OP, the censoring is usually inconsistent and makes no sense.
-
But like in OP, the censoring is usually inconsistent and makes no sense.
Yeah, I agree…It's quite annoying actually. It's as if they leave it up to the Animation director of the episode to decide.
-
Excellent episode

Vice Admiral Dobermann would be a good example for that. WTF Toei?!!
-
I think that Buggy and Mr3 were falling slower in the opening than the rest, check it out.
-

That was so weird that i don't even know if it was censoring, a mistake, or they just changed for the sake of it. I mean, how many times did we see blank eyes in the series?
@GaaraofTheDesert
I noticed it, you can see the others more clearly now, too. Also they added a few extra bruises on Ace's face and corrected a minor animation mistake when he's walking. -
I freakin' lol'd when Sengoku stole Garp's food. Man got a stomach of steel. And Bon Clay's reintroduction was awesome. But, I would have never guessed Zoro's voice actor does Saldeath, but I expected Saldeath to be whiny. Nice animation too. All that wrapped togheter makes an awesome episode! IMO
-

I'm quite sure that they didn't want to show the blank eye. I have no idea why though because just as you said we've seen it dozens of times in the series.
