On Wednesday I leave for the summer. I'll be gone until August 17th. I will have some internet access, but it will be very limited, and probably dial-up.

That sucks Forte, but they're doing it for your own good. I remember my parents jacked my Dreamcast & PSO during my year 11 TEE for like a whole month. I was totally infuriated at the time, but in retrospect that was probably the best thing they could've done for me.
So… head down and just hit those books & you'll be back in no time. 
You've lenient professors. Where I come from, 78's a high C, and I'd be the one banning myself if I got a 78.

50 Percent is the passing mark over here, In canada. :rolleyes: My parents don't care as long as I get 70 or higher. Well, I'll miss you Forte, and pretty much everyone here will too. So, Adios, Friend.
My parents didn't let me use my Gamecube because I didn't get all A's. I don't really need to play those things, so it's ok for me. I also can't use the computer if I don't make my bed and do the laundry. So don't worry Forte, you'll be back soon, and it's not so bad.

I'm just doing a quick reply, and all I can say is two things: First and foremost, it's not really goodbye… We'll miss you though, dude..... and secondly, I've got the same punishment as you do for the same damn reason.... sucks huh?

you get 78 ,you're pretty smart in my school .. my school ,no1 gets over 50marks … 50marks = pass .. Full marks 100 ,sometimes 150 full marks ,but no1 ever get over 50 .. my maximum marks is 99 in chinese ,and 87marks in english .. but the other subject, maths,science,EPA ,Geography ,= all under 20marks .. somehow ,maths is 0 ,but sometimes i cheat to get 3 or 4 marks .. thats me ..haha
only some girls had high marks ,but not many ...
wow, the gap between each country's education system. Some with normal questions but extreme high marks grades , some with hard questions but normal grades.
and i thought my parents were already hard on me grades.

I'm lucky. My parents are fine with what I get. They see me study and know I try. Actually lastyear my algebra teacher lost her husband and thus lost all paper work, meaning all of us got Ds.A normal parent would be extremely pissed at the kid or the teacher. Mydad grabbed a pen and put a line in the middle of the D making it a B. Mind you I never got lower then a B on my report cards...
You just make sure you both come back as soon as possible!!!

Ahaha. Your dad's awesome :D. My old man's pretty out of the ordinary too.
And to Forte, all parents are different and handle things differently but man, you sure did get some very strict ones. They sound kinda narrow minded too. It's not like getting good grades and getting into the best university is the be all and end all to being successful. Just looking at my father again, he failed year 11 two years in a row and dropped out, only to become one of the most successful people in my state (I really don't mean to brag). But whatever, if that's the way your parents think, that's the way it is. Just play it easy ;).

God! All your parents are tough on you! My parents don't mind, as long as I try my best. Then again I usually get the top mark in my class, and I'm in top set. But all of the students are reeeaaalllly thick. So they have to make the tests easier. But wow! A 78 is at least B+ here! :blink:

100-93: A
92-86: B
85-78: C
77-70: D
69 and below: E
