Apparently this movie has been lurking in the shadows for quite a while now, but I only heard of it yesterday.

Tim Burton has a new claymation movie coming out! A tale about a young man (Johnny Depp!) who, on the way to be married, accidentally finds himself betrothed to a corpse bride.

I am PSYCHED about this movie. I love Tim Burton, I love Claymation, and I love Johnny Depp. And this movie looks like it has all of the best of Tim Burton features in it. The only sad thing is that it's coming out late September and I won't be here for it! I'll have to wait until like . . . . . January for it to come out in Japan!

I'm really looking forward to it. Tim Burton is awesome and everything I've seen so far leads me to believe that this is going to be excellent! It might even get me out to the theater (a very rare occurance these days).

Cool! I saw the trailer for this and it looks cool, I might even go to the movies to see this instead of waiting for the DVD.

It's actually stop-motion, like Nightmare Before Christmas.

Whoops! You're right, stop-motion. I get the two confused sometimes, since they're so similar.

Claymation, Shylu, is when you animate a film using clay dolls/figures, but instead of drawing all the movements on paper you have to move the dolls, take a picture, repeat. Stop-motion is the same, only the way the dolls/backgrounds are made is a little different. Claymation is more cartoony-looking (Wallace and Gromit, Chicken Run), while stop-motion is more detailed and refined (Nightmare Before Christmas, James and the Giant Peach). It also uses different materials than claymation.

oh this looks like a really good one i love tim burton and johnny depp is such a good actor. the main guy reminds me of tim burton's short about vincent price. cant wait to see this along with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

chuckles yeah, I thought of Vincent too. But ironically this character is named Victor. His fiancee is Victoria. We don't have a name for the Corpse Bride yet.

I love Will Vinton Studios. They are to stop-motion animation what Jim Henson is to puppetry.

Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my all time favs. So this is so must to see to me.

I barely remember The Nightmare Before Christmas, and it's kind of strange that Tim Burton is getting back to stop-animation.

Tim Burton has NEVER made a bad movie. And neither has Johnny Depp. I can't wait.

i just watched the trailer, and the movie looks absolutely amazing.
tim burton is my definite favourite director, and i'm not going to complain about johnny depp being involved, either.

laughs Yes, Riksu, Victor is hot. But then, when you're based on a guy like Johnny Depp how can you not be? (I forsee many a Victor doll on display in the rooms of many a teenage girl)

Er, I'm going to have to disagree with you on that for one count. Planet of the Apes was not Tim Burton's best idea.
