How many manga series have you read?

Approximately. I was just curious, seeing that most people had a lot of history with manga behind them, so let's see some stats.

Personally, I'm currently reading only one manga (I've read like 5 or 6 throughout my whole life so far, sadly I wasn't even able to finish even one of them), but I'm enjoying it. I find it a bit hard to keep up with more than one series at a time. It gets confusing.

What about you?

Also, I'm not really sure if this was the right place to post this, but… ah.. what the heck.

Oh they're both totally normal. They've just been fans of manga for a long time and they can read literally ANY series without waiting for a translation.

I'm 40+ something. I've read less manga than I've seen anime, simply because a lot of manga I've already seen in anime form and I have high enough standards to not read generic/uninteresting stuff for lack of a better reason.

Wow, this is the sort of question that can only be asked by someone starting the hobby. Its like asking "How many novels have you read in your life?" theres no real way to count or know or even guess if you've been into it more than a year, let alone ten or fifteen years. More than I can possibly count. I was thinking about this the other day actually (sort of). I have over 40,000 pages of just yaoi manga on my computer. If you consider the average chapter length to be ~26 pages that is the equivalent of about 1,500 chapters. Which at 5 chapters a volume is 300 volumes. Even if half of those I just skimmed and didn't really read that would still 150 volumes… Which is kinda scary since that would mean I've read the equivalent of Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece put together in just yaoi... And I'm not even that big a fan of yaoi (comparatively speaking)... :blink:

40,000 pages = 1,500 chapters = 300 volumes --> at least 150 volumes read = One Piece + Bleach + Naruto

So, yeah, that should give you an idea of how much actual manga I've read. (I know TMI, I'll go back to lurking)
