Thousand Lion-Chan, irc is pretty easy to use once you get the basic commands down. You can chat and download (super fast) and it's pretty awesome in general.

Thank you for your kindness^_^ The main problem I have is that when I try to pase that link in firefox or internet explorer, it says the file type isn't supported or something.

And the downloads there so fast. Servers are got faster and faster over the years but in contrast to the rest of the internet the IRC userbase did not grow. More like it shrinked. I've had bots that I loaded with the University connection from and it was at max speed: ~ 6 mb/second

Thanks for the quality subbing as always, Yibis.
And I for one enjoy download links, don't see why some are against them. Luckily there are a bunch on the Yibis site.
Also, I try to cut down on torrent use since any company can see your IP and know what you're downloading on a public tracker, and this is a licensed anime after all.
Really, download links like Megaupload are more convenient than torrents or IRC, you get to leech bandwidth from random corporations instead of from your good peers, etc. :happy:

There was a time (~7-8 years ago i think) that irc was necessary to get any media downloaded, when they started cracking down on file sharing like kazaa. Now with torrents and upload sites like rapidshare and MU, it's a bit outdated. Still, it'll always be the last bastion of free sharing of media

Wow….. I setup mIRC and everything, I used the nickname MajorMedic and there were no problems. I closed the program. Opened it back up a couple of hours later, I got the whole Register or Continue pop up again, pressed continue, used the same info, pressed connect, and now it tells me the nickname "MajorMedic" is already in use...So I can't connect.
EDIT: Never mind, I figured things out.
