I saw the other thread and thought that this was a much needed topic. I'm a cross country runner and my PR is 18:32 for a 5K. How fast are some of you guys?
How fast are you at running?
-
-
I had the same thought when I was seeing that other thread but, anyway, I used to run in 5k runs and my pace time would 7 or 8 mins in a mile. I couldn't remember was the overall time but, I would be in first or second place in ages 13-18 women. Since that was 2 years ago, I gave up on it.
-
Running's for losers. I can fly.
I am extremely bad at running though  .
-
I get bored very easily with cross country running, so I became a sprinter. I only had a year's practice, but could run 12s 100m and 24s 200m consistently.
-
You see those twin streaks of flames outside your window? Yeah, I thought I'd stop by and say hello.
-
10 km in about an hour. That's what I try to do twice a week. Just to keep myself in a tolerable shape. I have no interest to compete however. I wouldn't be any good anyway.
-
I can run in 4.5 in a 40-yd dash. Not that I'm bragging, but I'm the fastest non-varsity person in the class.
Oh btw, first time posting hahaha.
-
I recently did a short range sprint test I think it was 10 metres, I did it in 0.86 man it felt like I flew
-
100m in 13 seconds. Middle-top tier in my school.
-
Im highest in my school at the beep test, level 13 lol but that's stamina: I'm fast, but not like some of you guys.
-
I fail in all kind of sports, therefore im bad in running, too.
I dont even want to know how long it takes me too run 100m -
100m in 12.1 seconds.
I'm a sprinter.
Also I like this thread.
-
I can't run without dying x-x I had to run the mile for school and about died because im so unfit XDD
-
wow I just calculated the time if i could keep up that speed 100 metres in 8.6 seconds but I highly doubt that i could last that long at that speed
-
10m in
9.51I swear!
-
i'm faster than sonic the hedgehog
-
12. something seconds for 100m.
More of a jumper personally…
-
i'm faster than sonic the hedgehog
But… But he's the fastest thing alive! Which must mean….
...Oh my god...
ZOMBIEEEEEEEE!
-
12.56 for the 100m, but I'm no sprinter.
5:11 for the mile.
I don't remember my best 5k time, but I'd have a hard time with it at the moment 8D
I ran 2 and a half miles tonight and I had trouble. Trying to get back into shape. Funny how I ran 4 miles no problem just two nights ago though.
-
i'm faster than sonic the hedgehog
Are you a relative of his? Because if you are, that means if I hit you you'll spit out golden rings.
WHICH IS AWESOME.
-
2 miles in 14 minutes.
-
A billion light years per second. My knee caps cannot handle stopping so I don't run as often.
-
I dunno how fast i am. I don't know where to test it here. It's not a big deal anyway. I mostly train my stamina since it's important!
-
iam bad at running…i hate to do it!
and my time...ehhh when i remember correctly i had on 100m a 14.2....soooo bad lol -
1km in about 4 minutes … it's not that good but I did worse when I started my training.
-
I don't really run fast, I prefer to run distances at my own pace, but if you challenge me at swimming, I would bet I'm faster than you.
-
Cross Country just started, but so far my 5K time was 19:57. My 8 mile time (longest race at my school) was 1 hour 3 minutes (forgot the amount of seconds). Not terrible, but I still need to train a bit more. I suck at short distance running. My times for short distance are embarrassing.
-
I run 100m's in 14.88, which is really slow and I run 2km's in 13,5min's which is also bad.
Reason: I look like the 16 year old version of this: -
Very Fast indeed but people under-estimate me. I always run the Cross Country
while the supposed 'Athletic Types' can't hack it and pull a sick-y or just skive.I loooooove running.
-
9.49 on 100 m, joke
10.06 on 100 m
-
I ain't sprinter but I dont suck at sprint running either. I prefer long distance running and I do have prety good stamina, 2000m in 7.32, in scale 4-10 that would be 9.5.
-
My long distance velocity is based on how fast the ambulance can pick me up.
Martial arts stamina… no good for running. -
-
-
I just ran 5km in 21 minutes today!
My best time yet.
Does anyone know if I'm good enough to compete in my high school cross country team? (I'm a senior)

Depends on the school. I averaged about 20 minutes and I wasn't even on Varsity at my school, where I could have gone to other schools and would have been the top runner.
-
I may as well have no stamina >_> I quite literally can't sprint for 15 seconds without having to go back into a jog.

I decided to try out yesterday and made the seniors team!
(I don't know what Varsity means, the structure might be different in Canada.)

I'm pretty sure thats normal for most people.

Not for varsity, no, but if you're just starting, you're at the stage where you can cut a lot off your time, so it's worth a shot. I say go for it. Try to get it down to 18-19 minutes, which is probably possible for you. It's not a bad time at all though, you should be proud ^ ^
-
Fastest I had was at Basic Training. 2 miles in 13 minutes flat.
-
Hmm, let's see. 5 km is… 3.1 miles or something like that. I could probably run that in... 40 minutes
. Yes, I suck at running. But only because after a couple minutes I can't breathe. It's not that my legs get tired. My legs are actually pretty strong, stronger than my arms.
-
Not to discourage you Kariouseki, but I'm pretty sure everyone has legs stronger than their arms.
And its weird that you mention that, because I never have breathing problems but my legs get sore really quickly.

Thanks for the encouragement.
I decided to go for it, and made the school team. I'm a little bit scared by the practices though. 10km every day!
-
If you need to get better at the aerobic part of running then here's probably the most effective way we did. Sprint for 30 seconds, walk for 60. Do that like 7 times every other day and it helps your breathing during runs.
If you need to work on your leg strength just go slower for longer distances and then your muscles will start to build.

:cwy:
Then I have nothing.
:cwy: -
I am not good a running at all (unless I see something I want or I'm on the soccer field). Yet, I am the fastest thing when I roll down a hill.
-
Wow You run 5km in 40 minutes. Can walk 5km in 40 minutes, that's a little under the distance from my job to my house, i walk it everyday. But then again i walk fast. Which is why i hate walking behind anyone or with someone. As for running, i'm somewhere around 23 minutes. Not great i know, but i'm more of a sprinter, not good at long distance running. Last time i checked i did the 100m in 10.8 but that was about a month ago, maybe i can do it a little faster now. If i can get it under 10s i'll be satisfied.
-
Well, that time is mostly because I have horrible endurance and can't run the entire time. If I could it would be significantly less than that.
-
Resurrecting this thread because the cross country season is starting now.
I'm aiming for a 3:35/km pace by the end of season (Nov 15)
I'm at around a 3:50 pace right now. My coach says I can do it, but I'm a little bit skeptical.Anyone have larger/smaller aspirations than me? With regards to running of course…

HAHAHAHA! Oh God.
In the mile run in high school, I'd always make the 12-16 minute mark. Yeppers. Both because I'm not in shape and my genetics.
