i dun think they are "dragged" they are just long arcs, it was needed in order to build up the story or the ending of an arc, for example in arabasta i think it wasnt dragged, if it wasnt long we wouldnt understand somethings or have plot holes here and there

there was alot in arabasta that didn't need to happen and there was even more that could've been compressed (though i couldn't name specific things without rewatching the arc) but it reallyyyyyyyyyyyy dragged on.
maybe its just preference, i particularly enjoyed it and think that its essential to build up the story but if u are talking about the fillers in the dessert (ace filler, rebel army filler, dessert pirate filler) then i agree w/ u
I think the Kuro and Don Krieg arcs (though they aren't as long as the later arcs) are a little bit boring compared to the rest of the series.
Alabasta arc may have seem the longest because Vivi was with them in other semi arcs
The only thing that dragged in Alabasta was all that filler crap, with Luffy and the Dance Powder, Chopper in Nanohana, the Sand Pirates, the fake rebels in Ido, Bounty Hunter Scorpion and the stuff where Luffy, Zoro and Chopper get lost.
None of that was in the manga and it really wasn´t needed in the anime either. Without this stuff Alabasta wouldn´t have dragged.
And as far as what dragged the most is concerned, I´d say it was in the anime starting from when they left Skypiea until they´ve met Kokoro. So much damn filler and a completely slaughtered Foxy/Aokiji arc. Up till then the fillers didn´t bother me as much but this is just plain evil.
I never really got the feeling things dragged on while reading the manga, honestly. Alright, maybe a little bit with the Davy Back Fight, but I loved that upon second read.
I agree that there's plenty of filler that makes things drag on a bit in the anime, though. The Alabasta filler being a prime example. The Davy Back Fight fillers, well, I could have done without them, but I certainly didn't hate them or anything.
In skypiea (manga version), the noland flashback took too long for me.. I don't mind them explaining the backstory but I really just wanted to see the main plot advance.. and I personally never experienced the Arabasta arc in the anime as dragged out, although apparently there was filler that wasn't in the manga..
some filler arcs seem like they go on forever. but hey that's what they're there for right :P.
True that, but I still wish that if Toei wanted to extend the anime, they´ve rather animated all the title stories instead of completely chopping manga material appart.
i think the alabasta arc was the most dragged on and boring arc IMO,
but i loved some of the fillers like the Fake rebel army it was a good one and i was seriously moved to tears for the first time since choppas flashback
and the one where they got lost in the desert was hilarious
Yeah I especially loved the fake rebel army thingie.. Luffy acting like a real badass was so cool
I think Alabasta dragged on more because what did we see every episode? Desert… Seeing endless sands every episode got a little repetitive, I really wanted a change of scenery.

Right, I prefer the less boring water we have at the sea.
I haven't seen Skypiea animated yet, but I didn't think it dragged on the manga. I didn't think Arabasta dragged on in the manga either, but I thought it did drag a bit in the anime, mostly in the first half.
I did not like the rebel army filler…or the one about Scorpion. Although a little more Ace isn't a bad thing.
…you didnt like it ?
you sir have no heart
i cried a river after watching that episode the sheer manlyness of those weak rebels rivals that of usopp himself  .
Sir?
Yes, I'm heartless. I have no sympathy for bad fillers.
I read all of Alabasta in one sitting, so I thought that was pretty dragged on. It was annoying how everytime they were close to solving everything, a new problem showed up.
When I was getting into OP at first, I thought the Don Krieg and Kuro arcs dragged on, too.
I love all the arcs, but obviously there are two that could be considered to have been fairly dragged out just by the huge length, those being Arabasta and Skypiea. The Arabasta filler definately made Arabasta seem really dragged out in the anime, though I enjoyed the manga of Arabasta a bit more than Skypiea. I guess my only beef with Skypiea was that Oda had been really bringing us into the whole workings of the One Piece world following Arabasta, then Luffy and crew just disappeared off the face of the earth for one long ass adventure. Other than that it was still a great story and I now kind of enjoy how Oda didn't just jump into the whole World Government affairs right off the bat
sometimes when im reading a flashback right befor a fight it seems to drag specialy when you only get one chapter a week but once its over and the story starts back up im glad that the flashback was there
A lot of Skypeia in the anime dragged on.
For me, Arabasta dragged majorily. It might just because a lot of characters annoyed me. Them being:
Vivi for her always talking about saving her country and such. I understand that you don't want your country to be destroyed, but must you mention it every 10 minutes?
Miss Merry Christmas just for being herself…
Crocodile for his 'I am better then god!' attitude... It bugged me.
And there were a bunch of flashbacks that I didn't really care for. Not that they were bad, I just felt like they weren't needed. But...I liked the arc, don't get me wrong. It was wonderful. But at some points I just wanted to scream "Oh come on! Just go on all ready!"
Crocodile for his 'I am better then god!' attitude… It bugged me.
Would you prefer Eneru's 'I AM GOD!' then?
I'm a little annoyed at Skypiea, I wanted to see Blackbeard fight…
I think what makes things drag on is that Luffy just dissapears for whole chapters. Stuck in the sand, in the snake and between the houses. I want Luffy!
Actually this is what I like about One Piece. In so many other stories I never took the protagonist as the hero. But in One Piece whenever so much things happen and then finally Luffy arrives to kick the villains but I always have the now the hero emerges feeling.
