Two weeks ago this would have gone to the quack doctor for his amazing speech and love of chopper and all, and also because Whitebeard hadn't done anything but talk. It would be close, but it would have gone to the doc.
Now, in 1 chapter Whitebeard has actually shown a lot more personality, done something, and demonstrated his world's strongest title in an awesme display, and he's likely going to be prominent for the next several months of chapters. I think this is going to tip heavily in his favor and perhaps rightly so now that he's finally more than talk, and now we know it was Ace's ego, and not his, that sent Ace out after Blackbeard.
Still, voting for the doc all the same.

Personally I find it creepy that Whitebeard likes young men to call him daddy.
But I'm neutral.
It would have been in his best interest to not leave us with a cliff hanger though!

Naw. Whitebeard just happens to have gotten some steroids recently. Cause he's actually like… doing stuff now. He got this far on reputation, and now suddenly this round hes got actual deeds that are totally fresh in everyone's mind.
He has current plot bonus helping him.

Whitebeard: uses women clad in extremely short skirts as nurses.Hiruluk: faces off against Wapol, is laughed at by said Wapol.
Whitebeard: faces off against 100K Marines, even their own boss isn't sure they can win.Hiruluk: breaks into people's homes to treat them with his quack medicine.
Whitebeard: breaks things in general; this includes clouds and the very air itself.And so on.
Complicating things since 2009.

You know, its hard to argue this. Whitebeard is a stronger more intimidating influential badass powerhouse than Hiriluk in every way. I just can't argue that point.
But Hiruluk makes me smile and cry and think fondly, and the 4 or so chapters of his and Chopper and Kureha's flashback are still among my absolute favorite in all of One Piece.
And he was to father figure to Chopper who is one of my favorites while Whitebeard is the father figure to… Poochie.

Whitebeard DID beat up Poochi 100 times in a row. While sleeping. That is pretty awesome.
But Hiruluk kicked Chopper backwards into an angry mob in order to save himself.

Man, one chapter ago this would not have been a difficult decision for me. I know I said last round that Whitebeard would probably do something to earn his two victories by this match, and that definitely held true. He has actually become an admirable and compelling character in my eyes. What really caught my attention was his reaction to learning that Ace was Roger's son, replying that they were all just children of the sea.
Despite that, I'm still sticking with the doctor on this one. His story never fails to bring me to tears but at the same time he was such a quirky, goofy screw up. For me he represents a lot of what One Piece is all about.
Seriously though, it wouldn't actually bother me all that much if Bananabeard won this one.:blink:

I think I just need to do better. I'm late in responding because I'm working on one right now that will make people pee themselves! It even comes with free exaggeration!
Seriously though, I've never done so much with two episodes before. I also hope it doesn't lose its coolness when I bring it back to normal speed.

Hiruluk was pretty awesome, but now that we've gotten more info on WB. He's definitely impressed me tremendously. I mean, he didn't want Ace to give chase, he literally spanked Ace like 100x while Ace kept trying to kill him, and all this while Ace was a logia. An the revelation of his awesome DF powers. Oda has shown us what a beast he really is. Had to vote for WB.

Dr. Hiruluk is the most passionate and COMpassionate man in One Piece, which is truly saying something. I feel his story really captures the essence of the series' supremely positive, utterly fearless message. THIS TRULY IS A WONDERFUL LIFE!!!!!!
Then again, Whitebeard is the ultimate patriarch.
