From what I've heard, 4Kids didn't drop Ultimate Muscle. There was only one season in Japan, the second season was made for America.

I really did not mind Zeff or Sanji's voice very much. The only problem with Sanji's voice is that it doesn't match up when he is talking to Nami. His voice is supposed to rise and there should be a big difference between how he talks to Nami versus everyone else.

I thought Dr. Girlfriend Sanji was very inappropriate, but like you, I didn't mind it as much as Uzoppi's. But when he started talking to Nami, all the bells and buzzers started going off in my head "BZZZ WRONG PLEASE TRY AGAIN".
I think the reason why more people are freaking out about Sanji's voice is because Sanji in general has a lot more respect and is seen as "cool" whereas a lot of people already think of Usopp as an annoying dork. :rolleyes: I think that both of their English voices really skew their characters into something they're not.

Huh? Funimation always had DBZ, though they used to have a business deal with Pioneer to distribute the videotapes. Ocean was simply the dubbing studio that Funimation used prior to opening their own. I personally would love to see Ocean's voice staff working on One Piece.

The main problem Funimation had for those first fifty-two episodes (as two of them were edited into a single episode early on) was Saban and it's "Oh WON'T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN?!?" broadcast standards.

That seems to be the big quesiton of the month…dunno...Maybe since he's a) clearly an adult, and B) somewhat considered a villain and c) smoking cigars rather than cigarrettes they'll leave it alone.

Hmm…. since the opening shows him without the cigars, (and provided they aren't going to use candybars or lollies or somthing) I think they might just keep him as Smoker. Smoke isn't bad by they censors (as long as it isn't from a cig or a doobie or somthing.. lol) and that way they can say his power comes from his ability to turn into smoke rather than his heavy-cigar-chain-smoking habit. xD

But knowing the talented and inventive people at 4kids....

Then again Sanji is what? 19? So he's perfectly of legal age to smoke a cigarette. The only one below the age of 18 in the straw hat crew is Chopper who is 15.

I know that. It still doesn't answer why they had the crew's name changed. In the Japanese they were Usopp's Pirates. So…why change it?

When Saban stopped producing the series, Funimation stopped using Ocean to dub the series in favor of their own dubbing studio. Funimation did not get DBZ from Ocean as Ocean worked for them.

This was not a popular move within the DBZ community (now largely dead) to say the least, especially during the Freeza saga. People finally warmed up to Funimation's cast during the Cell Saga as a concerted effort was made to make the characters sound more like they did during the Ocean period.

If the Ocean cast dubbed One Piece (sorry if I offend you) I would move to Australia to get away from tha horror.

Eh, difference of opinion. I can't see Ocean's dub being worse than what we already have; if nothing else, I don't see them giving main characters awful, awful voices like Usopp and Sanji have recieved.

_Yeah, but the videos for the first two seasons of DBZ and the first three movies were released through Pioneer Entertainment. Saban distributed it on television until the series moved to Cartoon Network.

The original thirteen episodes of DB were released through Kidsmark Entertainment._

No, they weren't called anything before they met Usopp. Even if that were true, it wouldn't justify why they got called the Veggie Pirates since when we first see Usopp, his pirate crew has already been formed.

Sanji was drunk too, wasn't he? Apparently Usopp and Sanji can't hold their liquor anywhere near as well as Zoro and Nami can. XD But didn't Luffy say he didn't drink in Loguetown? I've wondered about that, because I've seen him drinking what looks like alcohol later in the series.

I also wonder what Sanji's special drink actually is. XD It was funny when they made Carue drink it.

A Toei filler error maybe. After all most of them do have some errors.

On the subject of Smoker…

Aren't there Bubblegum Cigars? You know...The kind they give to fathers when they learn they're about to have a kid if they don't smoke or something...?

In Shonen Jump Anime on TV section they spelled Gin as Ghin, guess that how his name is spelt in the anime but the Manga pages still said Gin.

It's pronounced like Ghin, so I don't think it really matters whether it's spelled Gin or Ghin. Kind of like Django/Jango, although in that case, the D is just totally pointless. XD

Yeah also Gin name is like Lyserg, sound/spelled different to make it seem less like a substance reference.

Am I the only one who noticed something…odd...about the 'FoxBox changing to 4kids TV' commercial?

When it's naming all the things it's '4'...

After a few of them...it says 4 Moolah....

Worst birthday present ever
Here's my little episode review/recap:

Groaners:
Sanji's line about a knuckle sandwich
Zoro's line about Nami stealing hearts

The whole thing with Sanji's hair made me wince. Sanji may be something of a pretty-boy, but he isn't all too concerned with his looks. He always wants to be presentable, but he doesn't get all high-maintainance about his hair or anything.

Voice reviews:
Sanji: -_-
Carne: I actually really like the voice they gave him
Pati: What is he? A Leprechaun?
Zeff: No. Just no. Although, the whole Little Italy thing suits him better than it does Sanji.
Gin: sounds stupid. too old. too white. too boring.

Oh no! Krieg's threatening to make them all his own personal cooks! :o The horror!

Only for the first 2 seasons. If the dub can last that long on Toonami with those voices than we can look forward to a less edited better dubbed One Piece. Look at all the stuff that Yu Yu Hakusho (before it got cancelled),DB/DBZ/DBGT and Rurouni Kenshin get away with week after week.

I swear I did ineeded saw the Preview during the second commerical break during the second aired Winx Club, it showed Kreig's ship breaking up, Mihawk edited sword, and Kreig's screaming instanlty close up. I'm not lying folks, that's excatly what I saw.

I watched the episode today finally I heard Sanji's voice, then I came on here and saw the thread with Sanji's voice clips <_< .

Seriously, what's the deal with Sanji's voice? What exactly goes through the minds of 4Kids when they're choosing voices? The worst scene was when Usopp and Sanji are arguing. I just sat on my couch and cringed.
