It sucks. What else is there to say… ?
They've brutally raped two of my favorite characters (CAPTAIN USOPP!! NOOO!!!! SANJI!!! NOOO!!!!!), the music sucks, it's devoid of all emotion, the "jokes" are probably the shittiest I've yet to hear and, of course, those EDITS.
I'll never forgive them. Never.

I don't get it until tomorrow morning, but like GoAnderson said, it sucks. From the preview, I could tell that Gin was horribly screwed up, and I expect Krieg to suffer an even worse fate.

Vilda-san… You may want to quit watching the dub now that we have both Sunji and Uzoppi to worry about. They're both such horrible voices.... !

Anyway, I mentioned this back at the temporary forums a little bit ago; the 4KidsTV website has a bio on Arlong, so 4Kids isn't going to skip out on the Arlong arc, they're just going to edit the hell out of it. Also Zoro's bio raises an eyebrow, as his bio starts off with "(Zolo/TBA) is a bounty hunter..." Yes, for some reason there's something that is to be announced about his name. What that is, I don't know.

The dub sucks! And the voices are so horribly earshattering, especially Usopp's and Sunji's. David Moo's going down! I swear I will hunt down and brutally murder that son of a bitch for ruining my favorite One Piece character. Don't worry Sanji, you will be avenged.
All the voices in One Piece are either sucky or just ok, except for Zoro's and Jango's. Their voices are pure excellence, IMO.
Episode 21 aired today and goddamn it sucked.
-The title, Respecting Sanji was pretty good.
-Patty's voice, goddamn an Irish accent?! He doesn't even look Irish!
-Carne's Mexican accent was just as bad as Patty's Irish one.
-Gin's voice was just ok. Could've been better.
-Krieg's voice however was pretty good. I actually like it.
-Sunji's "lollipop" looked so fake everytime he oulled the damn thing out of his mouth. Notice how it appears everytime about a second after he pulls it out.sigh 4Kids can't even get their edits right.
-Gin kicks the naval officer in the back instead of shooting him in the back.<.< Or was that in the original version too?

(I wonder if the people who expierence One Piece via Shonen Jump and the dub will notice the plothole created due to Nami's comments about Alvida in the first episode.)

The Arlong bio seems pretty truthful, which surprises me. Honestly, I thought that a group such as 4kids would probably just write "A bad man who Nami does not get along with. They are not friends."
I don't that Arlong is going to be racist/evil as hell anymore though.. :\

What I am surprised about is the fact that most of the chefs, save Patty, Carne, and a random bg chef, are not French but NY mobsters. I was shocked. Zeff sounded okay, but Sanji… couldnt buy the wooing of Nami. Fullbody was fine, but all wine is now grape juice. 4kids is...trying and failing. Though the Arlong bio is surprising. I will watch in suspense about this.

Well, have you ever noticed that when they hold someone when they're about to sock someone, that their mouths move, but not their voice?
Example: Whan Luffy attacked Koby, and when Sanji beat up Fullbody today?]The guy who tal;ked to that guy who talks like ryu is sounded by Sean Schemmel, Goku's voice. They are all French but him. Their voice, at least.

What is not funny is how bad Sanji's voice is. I can not imagine Sanji having that voice for five more episodes, let alone more then two hundred. It's like the Sanji we know and love has been replaced by an evil bizarro version… with the voice of Dr. Girlfriend from Venture Brothers.
On the other hand Don Krieg was not that bad, and he did not have a cheesy German accent either so that's encouraging. Maybe Mihawk and Arlong will sound good as well.

Krieg was more likely to have an Italian accent. But thankfully he has a normal sounding voice.

Sanji is awful; Fullbody sounded much more like Sanji ought to sound like than Sanji does sadly enough. I'm not really sure why a main character has a goofy voice while an incidental character sounds more like a regular person, but that's 4Kids for you.
Carne's Cheech Marin impersonation was kind of odd at first, but it makes sense in the long run. Patty's brogue was well done.
Mihawk is coming up soon.
I repeat my prediction that they will go with Dracule and he'll sound like Bela Lugosi.

Why they hell did they outright explain her Sube Sube power? You aren't supposed to know that's her until she tells Luffy. American SJ hasn't even gotten that far.

Did 4Kids even tell them anything about the characters before they picked voice actors for these roles? Because Sanji's voice doesn't suit him on any level; not as a tough guy, not as a suave sophisticate, not even as a cook.
That little romantic spiel was painful and will only become more annoying as time goes by.
And as far as Logue Town goes, I always thought that seemed awfully Engrish to be honest. Rogue Town makes more sense._

I saw that 4kids.tv website and Nami vilage is call Coco village, guess Kokoyashi was a mouthful and horrible spelling for them. Sanji does sound like he has something in his troat though wonder what it is, Crap maybe because that what his voice is. Did you hear when they ending the first dubbed season? TVtome said sometime in March, but some people think that TVTome is wrong sometime. and oh yeah 4shame has a horrible way with puns, and logos. They killed it man, they killed it.

Let's face it, Sanji sounds like Emeril Lagasse (sp?). and yes, his first "pick-up line" moment was downright terrible. I only caught the last half and my luck it has that horrible scene in it.
Sanji's supposed to be a loveable goof when he's chasing girls, now he just looks like a sleaze bag.

Well I finally got to hear Sanji's voice myself… and man I found it horrid.
You know I actually thought of something. Maybe the french accent wouldn't have been so bad. After all it would fit since Sanji's attacks are spoken in french anyways. Having Sanji yell out "COLLIER SHOOT!" with a nasal congested Italian accent just doesn't sound right.
Meh I don't know what to say about Patty and ummm the other guy. Although the scottish accent didn't really fit Patty but the Spanish accent did fit ummm... what's his face. :lol:
Plus I was upset that Don Krieg doesn't have a Marlon Brando accent. I mean he's THE DON of East Blue. They should have parodyed The Godfather or something with Don Krieg. At least I would have had a little laugh from that.
Thing is though I don't mind Zeff's accent. I think it rather fits him.

Even if they they change Kokoyashi Village to "Namitown" and Nojiko to "Bob" [[i]NOTE: preceding comment not intended to be taken seriously] they can't fundamentally alter the story – it would involve pretty much rewriting/redrawing the manga. (Not to mention the fact that the English version has been decent, unusual name spellings aside).
But yeah... there might be some cognitive dissonance going on for dub-only viewers.

Smoker will have 2 giant lillipops in his mouth and will have eaten Steam Fruit, and Tashigi will be Kuina, but she lost her memory and now has glasses.

I desperatly wanted Frank Frankson(Fullbody and Honda in Yu-Gi-Oh!) to voice Sanji. That was the perfect voice for him. But 4Kids obviously didn't think so, the bastards.
Also, Usopp should've been voiced by the guy who voices Yoh on Shaman King. At least that voice sorta fits him.

And Choppers voice is supposed to sound similar to young Sanji's voice... his voice might sound like a 20 year old man! lol who knows. And the lolly pop was bad... cuz when he was SUPPOSED to have the cigarette. He held the lolly pop in a cigarette postition.AND DID ANYONE CATCH PANDAMAN? lol ^_^

No, when 4Kids accept that they are getting nowhere with One Piece and sell/give it to Funimation then Sanji should be voiced by Justin Cook and Usopp should be voiced by Bill Towsley (Shu and Elder Toguro)
