reading off piece of paper
Wow those 4Kids people still can't act how annoying.Zolo it's time to golo down at Bi-lo!! Here have a rolo…
-
Who was it that did the drawing of Bellmerie jamming a broom in Arlongs mouth? That was the first thing I thought of when they showed that scene. Just remember, if you EVER think it can't get any worse, then you don't know the darkness that is 4kids… I pray every day for a cancellation of One Piece before the Drum Arc. (Why can't they do more American shows? Many of the American produced shows can are truly amazing, and blow the butchered Anime out of the water, and the artists can debate changes with the cencors personally.)
-
Well all I know is 4Kids better have dubbed the next episode decently to make up for the last atrocious episode, not that anything can REALLY make up for it. Oh well, at least Bellemere's still dead… I hope! Though there's three things 4Kids will proboally mess up on the next episode.
Nojiko getting shot.
Nami stabbing her tatoo.
The walk to Arlong Park.
-
Well, at least they kept the kick intact but I still don't see how she expects to hurt anyone with a shovel.

Well the shovel was sharp and metal, maybe she was trying to stab him. It's possible she did'nt know that Mermen have super strength. That's what I think anyways.
-
shovels are dangerous
-
no no oh no, man damnit i love that part where arlong say bite the gun and says "useless useless uesless' that was like super evil cool that whole scene was like soo emotionless.
-
What I don't get is how they let a shovel in now, but in the Kuro arc one of the Ussop pirates weapons was a shovel originaly but was edited into a spatula.

4Kids has wierd editing standards.
-
Shovels are way too dangerous for little kids. An adult woman just might be able to handle one without seriously injuring herself, though.
-
They showed the grave. She died of hunger, get over it.

Yeah I'm surprised they let her have a shovel instead of a frying pan or a feather duster since the feather duster would be SO much more kid friendly.
-
The shovel was priceless.
Although I was hoping for a broom or feather duster as well.
Would have made for a better laugh.
Also I thought it was hilarious that they made it so Arlong was pointed at her and saying "How about a dungeon for the rest of your life?"
So stupid -shakes head-
I still can't get over the mermen's echoing voices by the way >_< -
Yeah I don't think they are going to change the Bellemere ghost into a real person caused they stated already that she was dead. In the dub they change HOW she died, but all in all she's still dead so 4Kids should'ent have to change her ghost into her real self. It's like with Kuina, Even though in the dub she did'nt die, Zoro still has the same dream, so I expect with Nami they'll do the same thing even though Bellemere died a different way.
-
Maybe they can just have her come outta nowhere and say that she wasn't really dead at all. If they wanted her to be dead, they could have had Arlong say "get 'er boys!" or something. They had no problem with little Kuina getting assaulted offscreen, but she wasn't allowed to die offscreen. Yeah, she was just a kid, but it's really important to Zoro's character, and the whole thing with Tashigi, while Cocoyashi never shows up again after the arc.

They have a way to say her death never happened. That door is open, and they will probably go right through it.
I'm expecting a whole "We thought you died down there!" crapfest.
-
Nah.. I don't think 4Kids is THAT dumb to make her come to life when they CLEARLY said she passed away in one of the episodes. Esspecially when not that much time passed between episodes.
-
You underestimate the stupidity of the 4kids side!

It's just that the event is too big for anyone to forget. I mean if it's something not that important I'll understand, but Bellemere being dead is a big part in this arc and I don't think they would forget something THAT important, especialy when they already stated that she died. They may be 4Kids, but their humans nonetheless. Think of it this way, it's like them forgeting Luffy's name in the future and they re-name him Mikey.
-
If anything else, Bellemere's voice is actually quite good, along with the acting. I'm impressed.
-
If you're thirsty you can have a Solo…

Well Nojiko said "Mom's passed now and Nami and me went in two diffrent directions" so she should be dead. Oh well belive what you want. It is your opinion. But I don't think 4Kids is going to leave Bellemere alive. That's my opinion.
-
I've said it before, I'll say it again: If they can bring to life possessed chakrams, hospitals, suction cups and dungeons, I wouldn't put a damn thing past them.
-
Remember, Bellemere wasn't their real mother, she was their adoptive mother. They could make it seem like Nojiko was talking about their mother before Nojiko and Nami met Bellemere. (of course, I too would give up fighting vicious pirates in exchange for being a family person if all I had to fend them off was a high-quality squirt gun. My momma always told me to never bring a squirt-gun to a sword fight.)
But in the end, we will find out who is right and who is wrong soon enough.

She was talking about Bellemere.

You know if she would have had a snickers bar hidden on her person she never would have died of hunger

True 4kids obviously thinks Lollipops are as "evil" as cigerette's XD
-
Nah, probably meant for all candy.
And they're right.. I had a coffee candy addiction..
Every dollar bag was filled with little packets of Addiction Bliss.
Everything I ate tasted horrible though..
-
I know this will never happen, but what would you guys say if they actually left the music when they walk to Arlong Park intact for the dub?
-
I'd say "Hey look! A flying pig!"
-
They didn't purchase the music rights. It can't happen. XD Or they'd be in big trouble.

Yeah. But can't dub companies buy the rights to the music at any time? I know 4Kids won't knowing them, but is it possible to buy the rights anytime they want to. Sometimes when a series gets longer they add more music in it.
-
If they're going to buy the rights, they'll do it for the entire series. Not one scene. That would be a waste of money. They chose not to purchase the rights because they felt it was too expensive. There is a possibilty that they will buy the rights in the future, but firs, I think they would wait until they're making a big enough profit on the show to make it worthwhile to them.
-
Sometimes the dub has better music than the original. Some examples are Dragonball Z, DragonBall GT, and Full Metal Alchemist. But then again, those were all made by FUNimation. So yeah, whatever.
-
I wasn't aware that FMA had its music changed….
Nor would I call the GT and Z music better....(especially GT)

Quite frankly, I don't like the soundtracks that these American companies produce. I once read an interview about this, and the person held responsible said, "Oh, well. Children need to be entertained, and if someone is switching channels, they'll be attracted by loud music, playing constantly."
Sort of makes you feel a little sick inside, really.
However, there's a fellow known as Bruce Faulconer who produced the American soundtrack to Dragonball Z, and he once gave an interview that sort of made me feel a little better about it. He claimed to write the music with some sort of inspiration from the show, rather than tossing out some old rubbish. However, he did produce a few unpopular pieces of music for the show.
I think this is the link to his DBZ music site, as far as I remember. He also once justified the fact that a story sometimes needs to be changed to suit the culture of the audience.
Still, that doesn't explain rubber knives and super soakers, does it?
_Fk_, I hate 4Kids Entertainment. With a passion.**
-
Any dub company would have changed Bellemere's death if they were targeting the dub to a younger audience, so that scene was doomed to begin with.
-
I saw like 15 Min of one episode, and i immediatly turned my TV off. I saw the anime one piece from my videos at home, and i like them more than the dubbed ones…4kids...kinda ruins shows. they ruined shaman king as well. anyway, hopefuly they won't get other good animes.
-
is it me or we can hear the noise made by the original shotgun in the dub when she shows her "horrible" shovel? it's strange, coz they definitely don't use at all the original audio.
-
Yeah, I heard the "click" noise when she pulled out the shovel. 4Kids Probably just forgot about it or thought that the audience would miss it or something..
-
Hi newb, suck my balls and get banned.
And Roman Mack, you always seem to give 4Kids a chance. You're right that any company would edit that, but I'm sure they wouldn't change the story's plot like those idiots did.

DBZ/GT, I suppose its all opinion but, I find both dub soundtracks to be terrible. Especially GT's rap opening…bleh.

**Well the point is that Bellemere's dead in both versions even if 4Kids changed the way she died. I'm preety sure that any edit would mess up that scene, and I doubt they would just cut the actual scene when she was shot because the point is, she got shot and they can't show that on a tvy7 show, exspecialy if the person died afterwards. I'm not defending 4Kids. I'm still mad at them for merging the episodes, I'm just saying that any dub company would have messed up THAT scene and it's impact if they were to distribute One Piece as a TVY7 show.
-
Betchya they mess up the walk to Arlong Park by adding in some really stupid and pointless conversation over the top of the footage.
-
Oh dear, I missed the Nojiko getting shot. Well I saw her fall, but I didn't see Nezumi's gun. What kind of gun was it? Cap gun ?
Edit: Aw man, they edited the whole stabity scene
And the DON scene, omg the DON scene. There was too much talking in it.
