The animation looks stunning as always. Iron Man I'm not too worried about, since it's just a step away from mecha, but Wolverine . . . . what the hell did they do to his hair? If it wasn't for the claws you wouldn't know that's Wolverine at all.

Some would disagree, but if someone somewhere has enough money anime tends to have at the minimum a high quality. Put enough cash even in Gonzo's hands and they'd still do something impressive. If they couldn't, they wouldn't be in business.

When I think about these project I have a feeling that they are going to go in a very unexpected direction. We already know Wolverine is going to be a little out there. And even look at Iron Man, sure there's the suit but that doesn't mean there will be a Tony Stark. I think the stories won't have much in common with the comics just like the Japanese Spiderman series in the 70's.

No, I think the studio pretty much confirmed it's Tony Stark. He's just in Japan for negotiations on weapons dealings, hence the excuse to use Tokyo as a background.

Not that I was wholly enthusiastic about this project from the beginning, but I rather disapprove of sharing said misery.

Not just CG but very bad CG. It's above that hideous Fate/stay night dragon but after watching all of Sousei no Aquarion (2005 anime) it looks disgustingly low budget.
Is Madhouse having financial difficulties? I find it hard to believe, considering they're couriering the favour of Marvel and Aaron McGruder. But in the past 2 years, their productivity has severely dropped. A lot of people are still waiting on Kaiji season 2.
I remember even when GONZO was on its death throes, it managed to produce things like Saki and Strike Witches (the latter of which was bizarrely stolen away), so who knows.'

This trailer didn't loo that bad anytime I hit the pause button.
In other words, the animation was pretty bad. Anytime I saw Iron Man move, I was reminded of some of the old CG stuff, like Reboot and Beast Wars, no joke. Back then I didn't mind all the choppiness because the CG was just new, but that was back then.
It's 2010, and I've seen better, and I expected better from the trailer.
Wolverine is Japan's revenge for what the Americans did to Dragonball.
There's a silver lining, folks. If the Iron Man anime strayed this far from its original trailer, maybe there's no more "Homotastic Twilight Wolverine".
Wonder how the X-Men and Blade anime will look.

Wow. What a difference a year can make. The first Iron Man teaser trailer looked so promising. Beautiful, fluid animation. I was eager to see more.
But this latest one…what happened? The drop in animation quality is so pronounced, it's really quite remarkable. Did the budget get cut or something?
No. That debut trailer was never how the actual series was gonna look. That trailer was designed to get people excited.
It worked.
It's like those elaborate CGI trailers that have been coming out for games like Star Wars: The Old Republic, Brink, and DC Universe Online. They're fucking awesome, but they're independent from the final product which is much lower quality.
