Hopefully this press release is just a negotiating tactic. The newtwork going "see, we're willing to do it without you. Now work cheaper or dont work at all. Negotiate."
Its happened to FRIENDS. Entire cast wanted huge raises, so they started airing promos for "the final episode." They then renegotiated in a hurry for less than they were asking before. (I think they wanted like, 2 mill an episode or something insane like that… Ended up "only" getting 1 mill each.)
Otherwise? There is absolutley NO point in bringing Futurama back without the cast. NONE at all.
If it was a actor unable to come back for whatever reason, well, okay. But the entire cast? Especially when most of them do like 30 characters?
Screw that.
They don't pull this on the Simpsons whenever THEY want more money...

Wow, what a bunch of crap. You guys have said it good already, but i just wanted to show my personal disappointment in this BS move. Even worse, though they more then likely alienated most of the people who wanted this show back( same people who made it possible for this show to be popular enough to come back, like family guy), there will still be dumb ass people with no standards that will just accept it. Let's hope that it fails so bad that they have to get the old VA's back to save it. Imagine if Family Guy came back(with the exception of Meg) with all new voices, that show would have been re-canceled. I was so excited for new futurama too…

Sounds nightmarish, but I'm curious to see how the fans mobilize against this.
Several years ago, Pokemon's entire cast was wiped by Nintendo after 4Kids was relieved of dubbing rights. There was an enormous outcry against it, but Nintendo basically ignored it all and told the complainers to "stfu". Not unlike their E3 conferences as I've heard…but whatever the case, the fans lost that battle.
Will Fox prevail too?

If it was Maurice Lamarche or Tress McNeil, (who are both veterans in the animation voiceover industry) that couldn't make it back, for whatever reason, it would mean the difference in the voices of Lur and Morbo, and random female characters. THAT would be okay to deal with. Sucky, but okay.
If they couldn't bring back Ami's voice, then just don't do a lot of episodes with Ami and thats managble. Sucky, but okay.
But yeah. Can't lose any of the main three. Especially since Billy and John really do like 70% of the cast between them including tons of recurring characters. (Billy alone is Fry, Professor, Zoidberg, Zap Brannigan…)
Gotta be just a negotiating tactic. I know execs are STUPID, but...

Kinda reminds me about the South Park episode where the boys were trying to stop George Lucas and Steven Spielberg from editing Raiders of the Lost Ark. But yea, nothing will happen and it will air regardless of what the fans think.

Fox is willing to pay up for three different Seth McFarlene shows that are basically the same fucking show, minus the gimmicky "Just like that time when…" cutaways in two of them, yet they don't want to pay the actors of a clearly better show to do a show that has shown demand from the fans to come back?
Fuck you, Fox. Canceling King of the Hill for The Cleveland Show was a dick move within itself, but this is even worse.

A Series later she came back to play Maylene ...Not even the same example. Not even relatively close. Especially when you're talking about an anime dub that's switched between two dubbing companies. Futurama isn't going through any company changes.
Also, your example is kind of flawed in the sense that some voices were changed during the 4Kids dub, but were brought back during the PUSA dub. And there's no much one can do about Meowth's voice now. His second VA from 4Kids passed away a few months ago.

What is the third McFarlene show besides FG and AD (Cleveland Show?)? I'm not going to deny that I watch Family Guy and American Dad but Futurama is so much better than both of them and Fox is treating it the worst. Hopefully the cast accepts a lower salary so we can avoid this inevitable train wreck.

This some weird karma. "Family Guy" got fucked-over pretty hard originally and now it's actually gotten a second chance. But it got to the point where the creator has become a celebrity and has three shows that take up almost half of all of FOX's animation.
Though karma probably isn't the right for this either. But back on topic, this sucks and I hope they can work something. I hope fans can do something, and I hope that thing is fans protesting by not watching the new episodes.
