Do ya'll think that funimation should english dub one piece than 4kids? Well I do cause 4kids use the same actors of their own and funimation actually go out in the world to find good actors. Man, 4kids is killing one piece swiftly and painfully :( .

Anyone would do a better job with One Piece than 4kids. Since Funimation does such a good job with Full Metal Alchemist of course the would do better.
Funimation had learned the error of its ways, while 4kids repeat them more than an alzheimer's patient.

Pretty much what neodragzero said, and it's annoying because there were some rumours that FUNi was interested in the series and even had the rights for a breif period of time. However I somehow doubt 4Kids will hand over the rights to FUNi so, as much as want it, all we can do is dream about what could have been if these rumours were true and actually happened.

Anything would be more fitting than 4 Kids. Well, I don't know about Sho Pro, but still. Fuimation would most definetely handle One Piece with care. It also depends on whether they decide to show it on Toonami or [adult swim]. It would be slightly edited on Toonami, so Adult Swim would be the most fitting.
-
I would rather One Piece be licensed by Funimation, because they do a good job on anime. It shouldnt be on Adult Swim, that doesnt make any sense.

One Piece is TV-14 material? ^^;
Nah, it should be on Toonami with a PG rating, which means it can get away with a lot more things. Example: DBZ uncut is rated PG and it has blood any everything!

On the glorious day when Kahn dies(Please be soon), FUNimation will hopefully be given One Piece.

If Kahn were to croak, it would not matter. 4KIDS is a corporation, therefore it wouldn't die with him.

However, if OP continues to flounder in the ratings, I could very well see the broadcastors refusing to re-subscribe for another 52 badly-dubbed episodes. Result: it becomes tempting to sell it to someone else who might do better.

FUNImation is like a graduate. They learned from their mistakes, listened to the fans, and improved. They would be able to peform a better dub.

How do we know its floundering in the ratings? If it was doing so badly they would have taken it off the air by now. Also Cartoon Network wouldn't be advertising it so heavily. All of this air time must be making them money.
If 4KidsTV doesn't renew its license to One Piece, then the rights would go back to Toei Animation. Toei's licensing fees are so high that even a rich company like 4KidsTV is complaing about how expensive it is. I don't think any other company would buy the rights to One Piece just to sell DVDs to a niche audience.
-
I kept hearing everyone saying "OP is going down the tubes" here, so I assumed they had the numbers.
A new licensor need not just go for the niche audience though. The big question: Does the market as a whole dislike OP in general, or OP 4kids style? I could well see a new dubber coming in, dialing back the coherence and violence to the levels the viewers really want, and successfully sitting in the same time slot as the original. As long as it was made clear "New improved One Piece 2.0, truer to the original spirit and mint flavored for freshness"

Actually most of Funimations actors are local talent. They all live in or close to Ft Worth. They only time they went out into the world was when they hired Ocean Group for seasons 1&2 of DBZ.

Well, it's true that for most of Funimation's anime, the most used actors are the ones who do the music and stuff. You know, like Sean Schemmel, and Christopher Sabat. If Funimation did the One Piece dub, then I'd hope to see some voice acotrs from Fullmetal Alchemist. Chopper would be voiced by the voice of Al, and Smoker would have Scar's voice.

This is one of the funniest quotes I've heard at Arlong Park! It's worthy of being someone's sig., too.

If 4Kids dropped the rights to One Piece (which is a high possibility) and FUNimation picked it up a few years later, I know they'd do an exceptionally great job on the dub to make up for the travesty 4Kids produced.
As for voices, Vic Mignogna would make a perfect Usopp, whoever plays Hughes in FMA would make a good Sanji, Chris Sabat could probably do Zoro, Winry's VA would be a good Nami, and Luffy's, I really don't know. I wouldn't want Kid Goku's VA voicing Luffy, since they'd be too alike, maybe someone else.
and Smoker would have Scar's voice.
I always imagined Daemon Clark voicing Kohza, not Smoker.
And the only way for FUNi's dub to survive on TV since it isn't for Adult Swim and would be edited like hell on Toonami (and we don't want that again) is to put it in the weekday night timeslot DBZ Uncut is in now.

Yo, I read an article stating funimation almost liscensed one piece but 4kids got to it first. I forgot where I read it tho my bad.

Well for voice actors, I want sanji's voice to sound cool like the japanese VA and for zoro's voice, I think its fine but if they want the voice to be cool like nakai kazuya, they need to change the VA. For chopper's VA, It gotta be cute like the japanese VA sounds.
