My sudden interest to become an alt in japan.

Well i've been trying to find some way to go to japan, aside from just paying to go over and hope i can land a job somehow. So i looked up the JET Programme. After reading everything on the sites, and links they have. I became very interested, the only thing left to read what requirements and application process. I expected the application process to be tough so no surprise there. But as i read requirements near the end it said "earn your Bachelors degree by July 1, 2009". Well here's the thing i'm not in college, and therefore no Bachelors Degree. So first question on this subject, is it really a must or just a piece of paper that will give you a boost towards being accepted? And for those who are wondering what level of education(on paper not actual) i'm at, well simple GED(Get 'er done lol). Well anyways would like someone who has applied to this programme to help me out. I'm pretty sure the most obvious advice to me is, give up on it, either get your bachelors or don't try at all. But i love a challenge, unless the challenge won't benefit me in any way or provide enjoyment for the time being.

Well i looked around the for more and the best i found where courses on becoming and ESL teacher in foreign countries. Even they recommend a degree, not require one. So that kinda boosts my question if bachelor's is only a boost, but not 100% required.

So all i'm really looking for here is a way to get to japan, that isn't the pay for myself and hope to land a job and not have to come back in 1 month because living is hard, and i dont have a way to provide for myself. If not I'm willing to to spend a couple of years in College to get a degree then apply for JET.

oh nevermind on the JET anytime soon. I just saw that the closest C.G.J. is in LA. Though i would still like any helpful information anyone can give me on it. Preferably someone who has gone through the process, it don't matter if you weren't accepted you still have a better understand then me.

I would have gone through with it if not for the fact that she's 16 and i'm turning 21. Well honestly none of you have ever had akward high fives. Or accidental high fives. Well most of the times i'll high five someone with there hand up, even if that wasn't the reason they had there hand up.

I remember a couple of months ago, i went to a kickback with some friends. And when i got there i saw some friends so i went over the do common pound it. Anyways one of them puts his hand out as i walk by, so assume it's to do our greeting. So i slap his hand, and go to pound. But he's like "What the fuck, you just knocked away my cigarrette." So we argue for awhile, which is a really bad way to start off a kickback. Anyways it ends with me saying "What the fuck do you even care, there were only like 2 puffs left in that shit, and you are the most addicted out of everyone i bet you still have 3 unopened packs to last you through the night." Then i walk away and serve myself a screwdriver, not my favorite drink, but the cheapest to make.

Boxingfan i love your reply. It starts off cool, then funny at the end with the smells funny. But yea i felt weird because didn't know if she did it on purpose, and if she did the age difference is a problem for me.

Oh Miniluffy i know what you mean. I'm that friend. I always high five or pound your hand harder than is neccessary. It's fun because they never see it coming. Well that is until recently some of them are starting to catch on.

I haven't exactly had awkward high fives, but I've certainly had awkward handshakes. Sometimes it's where the person doesn't fully grab with their whole hand, and so I'm standing there, shaking half of their hand and it feels weird xD

She propably realized she'd have a chance, got emotional, made it happen in belief. The 3 seconds timespan showed you the signs, her the unmutual feeling, too bad you had no control over the reason. At least you weren't gay about it.

Well if i was at the bar an this happened i'd go along with it, since it's unlikely the girl would be 5 years younger than me if we're at a bar. Well wtever it's in the past.

@Hiroy How short are the people you meet? Well i'm like 5'10, most of my friends are my height so no problem there. And girls, well they jump. Or i'll lower my hand, but doing that loses the meaning of a high five, and becomes just a five.

For me I use the 'Sack tap five'

Instruction:
1. Hold your arm up to high five when your walking towards them.
2. Just as they are about to slap lower your arm and punch them in the crotch
3. Turn and watch your prey and announce 'Sack tap high five' whilst in the Mr.Universe position.
