Miles Edgeworth is back In Ace Attorney: Investigations for the DS
Only instead of the courtroom handling cases..your at crime scenes solving cases with evidence and other logic
still looks to be a big hit with the fans who are fans of the series.

In all honesty I don't know what all the hype about Edgeworth is. Despite that, I'm looking forward to this game.
Because he's Edgeworth, he's just so stern and comical at the same time.

I would have preferred Godot investigations myself. But I don't mind Edgeworth.

Gumshoe's my main selling point for this game, but I really hope the cases are good.
all the characters are great. (as always with capcom) I'm having a big laugh with larry, oh, i mean, "laurice" atm. on the trail with the nuns and "iris" at that snow temple or whatever it's called.

ya. funny enough, it's the first game i bought in this series. and last week, i picked up the second one. i'm going backwards :P the characters and the story really are amazing.

Only thing I hated about Apollo was that Phoenix just sorta fizzled in his own world. There was barely mention of Maya, Edgeworth, or Iris!

Not to mention Godot. It was 7 years, he should have served his time by now!?! Or Pearl!!! Though there was a slight reference to Maya as Phoenix said he got a bunch of samurai dvds from some kid. Guess Maya went back to be the master at her village. And at least we got back Skye from the first game.
If there's even a mention of Apollo in it, I'm not getting it.
It takes place about a month before Phoenix loses his badge. He's not involved in the story at all, but his sprite makes a cameo in the background in case 3, I think.
There is a music stage that has the Gavinners' band equipment set up on it, though.

I figured that would happen. Pretty lazy on their part, but I didn't expect a fairy tale ending to Phoenix and Maya anyway.

Well Skye was only in the DS remake of the first one as an extra case. While 2 & 3 for DS were exactly the same as far as I know.

I always liked the end of Apollo Justice when Phoenix says he may take the bar again. I'd love to do more switch off cases like the final one of AJ, just without the time travel.

The remake case had the best sprite reaction hands down out of any of the cases. Gant's Lightning strike+Gant's seal impersonation+anything Jake Marshall did were just brilliant.
I still think the final case in the third game is the best in the series though.
Final case for 3 is my favorite too. It just involved everything of Maya's life as well as everything that led Phoenix to law. Even though his staunch defense of Dahlia thorughout the game made me dislike him for a bit. Plus I remember that it was looooonngg
Oh man, I think Rise To The Ashes has to be my favorite case from the original games. I love the ending cases for JFK and T&T, but this case just really sticks out in my mind. I love Ema, and I especially get a kick out of Gant and Jake Marshall. Though for some reason my favorite character from the case has to be Neil, I really don't know why. I'm going to cosplay him to the shoot at AFest and we'll see if people can remember DX I was too lazy to do Mikumo/Kay Faraday this summer. I'm probably going to do her for when AA:I is released in the states… Which I believe is January 28th still.... wtf that's just ridiculous DX They got T&T out 2 months after the japanese rerelease on DS.
And I am glad to see they are connecting it with AJ somehow... Well maybe I shouldn't be glad but I liked AJ as well, but then it means that AJ was not a fluke and some bad nightmare Phoenix had o.o;;;
Where is GS5 DX There has already been talked about ANOTHER AA:I game, but it's been 2 years since GS4 was released :P It sounds like they still plan on making it though. I kind of hope they reintroduce Maya, Pearls, Edgey, Franzy, Gumshoe, Larry, and other characters from the original trilogy in the next main GS game though. Even though the focus is now shifted to the new generation, it doesn't seem right not knowing what the others are doing.

That's what I thought too, but then someone brought up the idea that the kid may have actually been the Steel Samurai fanboy Cody from the 3rd case in the 1st game.

! Jake never stopped believing something was wrong - solely on the basis that his brother was too strong to lose that way. And of course he was entirely correct.
I did the little original trilogy "What Character Are You" Comm meme on LJ and somehow, out of ALL the PW characters in the games I was unanimously voted as Neil. Considering he doesn't have that much about him it's surprising XD

! I actually kept guessing that Misty killed herself, as she was channeling Daila(sp) to protect maya. even when the evidence was starting to point at godot, I was like, no way. this is just a distraction. I know what happened….but I was wrong
I though "nick" drinking the coffee at the end was a little too cheezy. oh well.
you know what else I was thinking. it's nice to see a female character that isn't a skinny mini. Mia Fey had some meat on her, but she was still sexy. And they were able to pull that off, and still make her look sophisticated.
Um, what's this about Godot
! serving a prison sentence? He's dead, isn't he? The punishment for murder has always been execution, so Godot would have been executed for Misty's death like how Dahlia was for Doug Swallow.
Also, Edgeworth is sort of like Sasuke Uchiha - cool, collected genius kid who's a friend/rival of the main lead. People just seem to like that character, but Edgeworth has as much depth and complexity to him as Sasuke has emo.
Also, captain usopp. Did you not think Iris and Phoenix made such an awesome couple at the end? :D They were perfect together and it was quite the sweet romance…Phoenix and Maya is just meh, I can't imagine why people want that pairing.
Eventhough you typically never hear any further news about a criminal whose convicted of a crime in the GS games it's too quick to assume Godot was written off like that.

! Wasn't it sort of protecting someone else though? Though some weird, planned in advance version. Doesn't meet self defence, but it may have been enough for a lesser sentence. Mind you, it's been years since I've played it so I may be mistaken.
! They never really went into what happened to Godot or the people who were convicted of murder in earlier cases, all we got was the sentence and what happened to Dahlia as the precedent, which set the standard for later punishments. I mean, whenever Phoenix would single out some witness as the true culprit, that witness wouldn't get sentenced there…the Judge rules on the current defendant and we're left to assume the witness gets tried later.
! I don't think Godot would really hate being dead, though. He's gotten over himself and he'd be with Mia, so it's all good...right?
Also what's all this Mia x Phoenix talk, too?
A pairing like that wound sound aright if Mia wasn't already dead.
I've often wondered about that myself; seems like being supported by people who only want you there so the world can end in fire (with you going to Hell in the process) would be somewhat off-putting

I didn't like how they turned Larry from a clueless but well meaning guy in Ace Attorney to a dim witted annoyance who constantly had his mind in the gutter in Trials and Tribulations. Hopefully Investigations treats him better.

Godot is only 4 years older then Mia. He was 27 at his "death" and Mia was 23. That's not too much of a difference.

By the third game he was an annoyance to all who Phoenix ''wouldn't call a friend'' and his role was pretty much confined to screwing things up and make life miserable for everyone.

would it be spoiler for me to ask why phoenix quit?
It's kind of a long story, but here goes…
! There's this famous case where a famous magician is found murdered, and one of his apprentices is arrested. An attorney named Kristoph Gavin decides to take the case in order to advance his career, and is so confident that he has a piece of evidence forged. In this case, it's the victim's journal, which has a fake page suggesting that the death was suicide.
! However, the defendant recognizes what a nasty person Gavin is and dismisses him as his attorney, and hires Phoenix the night before the trial. Gavin gets infuriated at being turned down in favor of ''someone who relies on luck and bluffs'' so he tips off the prosecution as to the fake evidence, and has the defendant's daughter give a ripped out page from the journal to Phoenix right before the trial starts.
! Phoenix doesn't know that it's fake, but when he presents the page the prosecutor jumps on it and proves its falsehood. Afterwards, some other crazy stuff goes down, but basically, Phoenix takes responsibility for the evidence and the Board vote to strip him of his badge, and he spends much of the next seven years figuring out what exactly went down and working towards exposing Kristoph.
